CRUNCHY SHRIMP ROLL

My husband and I came here for the first time for our anniversary. Our server was great, he had great suggestions and was on top of it the whole time. We had the croissant basket, Crispy shrimp roll, NY strip, the shrimp daily special, and then finished with chocolate cake. Everything was perfect!

NY NEW YORK STRIP
Jim G.

Stopped in with a group for a business meeting. I got the martini with the really nice side car for $17. Tasty and almost two drinks which was nice. I also got the NY strip steak with mac and cheese. The steak was ok, certainly a large portion but not super tender. Nice touch with the butter on top. The mac and cheese was outstanding. I liked that more than my steak which is a rarity.

Meal was intended to come with Cajun rice. We didn't receive that nor were we made aware of it.

My family and I visited the Easton location to celebrate my mother's 65th birthday. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. We brought in cupcakes and had to ask the waiter four different times to bring them out. We finally received them about 30 minutes after we had already paid our bill. Then, I ordered two Cajun trout meals to go. I didn't check the bag because my father picked up the meals and everything appeared to be correct. To my surprise, once I arrived home, I realized I did not receive the Cajun rice that comes with the meal. Instead, I received couscous. At no point was it mentioned that the side had been substituted. The service overall was not good, but that was truly the icing on the cake. You should at least receive what you paid for and what was advertised with the meal. To make matters worse, I called to speak with a manager and was left on hold for 10 minutes with no one ever returning to the phone. I called back again, and no one answered. Overall, it was a terrible experience.

Mouse under table at J Alexander's Easton Location
Lauren P.

Simply stated this place has delicious food. I enjoyed my meal. Waiter was nice and attentive. PROBLEM: Mouse running around the table across from us. NOT OK. I reported to manager Jordan and she did nothing but say it's getting cold outside so they are trying to come in. Not trying they are. And after spending $100 on a lunch for two this is completely unacceptable at a restaurant of this caliber. I reported to headquarters and they did nothing also. Not even a response. Not that they will look into it. Nothing. Manager does nothing. I have never in all my years ever seen a mouse eating food under a table in a restaurant. I thought it was clean but obviously if mice are out and about in the middle of the day they have a serious issue. If I felt heard or had gotten proper response or action I wouldn't even post this. But it's as though nothing is being done. It's not ok. So hopefully this will bring awareness to the right people at the restaurant to get it clean and get the rodents out!

This is the metal piece found in my devil egg at J Alexander's Easton location

On March 5, 2026 I was dining at J Alexander's and took a bite of a devil egg and broke a tooth a metal piece in the devil egg. It was my daughter's birthday and all they done was take off the devil eggs they were very rude like I put the metal piece in the food. I am a 65 year old black female with health problems had to have my tooth repaired and the most they offered me was $750 they tried to scare me to take it further. The fact is I wouldn't have went as far as I did if I had been treated like a customer that ordered food anyway and tried to eat but couldn't and they never accommodated the meals. Will never eat there again

On paper, my wagyu burger and fries may seem basic, but - like the decor and service - were elevated. Very good! I'm not a seafood fan, so they removed the trout roe from the dirty tots and what remained were six cubes of potato perfection. I had more than everyone else in my party. Accompanying that was a non-alcoholic mojito which had too much ice and too little drink for my liking, but the concoction itself was refreshingly delicious. Every dessert looked great on the menu. My colleague ordered the carrot cake which seemed so scrumptious that it almost made me second guess the honey-butter cake that our server recommended. However, I'm happy to report that the cake with mixed berries and vanilla gelato was a winner. I'll be honest, I expected to think that Butcher and Rose was overrated. I'm so glad that I was wrong.

From the very beginning, Chip Mullen, the Relationship Manager, helped walk us through every step of planning our event. His professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail helped us create a truly memorable evening for our graduating fellows and faculty leadership. From the moment we walked through the doors until the very end of the evening, the staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. We hosted our celebration in the Buckeye Room, and it could not have been more perfect. Our Buckeye fans and alumni were over the moon with the décor and atmosphere--it added such a special touch to an already meaningful occasion. The food was AMAZING, and Michael, our server, was truly top-notch! He was attentive, personable, professional, and made sure our group was well cared for throughout the entire evening. Jeff Ruby's helped us turn a fellowship graduation dinner into a celebration our fellows and faculty will remember for years to come. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an elegant dinner, a special celebration, or a fabulous private event experience. Thank you to Chip, Michael, and the entire Jeff Ruby's team for helping us celebrate our graduates in such a memorable way. Five stars all around!

We were a little worried but decided to see it through. I'm so glad we did! Everything about our experience was amazing. Valet parking is available which is always a plus. Walking in you're well aware you're in an upscale restaurant. The lights are dim and the design is rich and romantic. We arrived early and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The hostess and the bartenders were all very attentive and professional. The hostess came to get us when our table was ready and we were asked if we preferred the elevator or stairs -we opted for the stairs going in, after filling our bellies we took the elevator! Our booth was spacious and comfortable, shaped almost circular so that we could sit close together but large enough there is plenty of space for more people. Our waiter, Sam, and his assistant, Brandon, very promptly arrived and introduced themselves. They brought amazing rye & sourdough bread in a basket with 2 choices of butter. Sam was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were on par with what we had in mind. We both ordered half salads, I ordered the Freddie and my husband had the Iceberg Blue. Both fresh and flavorful, neither of us could choose a favorite. For our entrees my husband opted for the Steak Collinsworth and I chose the pork chops... we both were impressed with the pork chops. Very flavorful and juicy with just the perfect amount of charring. We also ordered mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. It was all delicious! My husband really enjoyed the creamed spinach and said it was among the best he's had. We were too full for dessert, but Sam treated us to a cupcake for our anniversary. The experience from beginning to end could not have been better. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back!

My Mother (who is a frequent guest to Cameron Mitchell Restaurants) and myself, decided to have a nice Sunday brunch at what she usually knows to be an elevated dining experience and choice Guild House due to the copious amounts of reviews and recommendations of their ability to accommodate vegans. So we did what was recommended which was called ahead to let them know that we were coming in to dine and the host reassured us that the Chef would be able to accommodate for the vegan diet. Once we arrived and were seated, our server gave use the run down and proceeded to let him about the vegan diet to which he responded there were vegan options on the menu (which there are not), I let him know we were told to let him know so he could communicate with the chef to see what could be prepared. After checking with the chef he told me only one dish could be made vegan even though I was told they would be able to make off menu dishes for dietary restrictions. The executive chef came out only to agree with me that they could make Off menu dishes, but didn't provide me with what they could make but told me the tofu for the salmon dish would be blackened, seasoned and seared so I went ahead and ordered the one dish that I was told could be made Vegan. I then went to order a drink and wanted to know what the rotating IPA they had on draft was at the time... the server responded that the ipa was called "rotating" if I would like to order it, after telling him several times that's incorrect and asking for him to check with the bartender, he finally decided to go ask what the rotating beer was, s if I don't know what I'm talking about or how to order at a restaurant. The food finally came out and not only was my tofu not blackened, it was barely seared or cooked as the chef assured me it would. My mother also order her eggs to be overhard and they brought her a runny egg and had to take it back. I tried to suck it up and just eat my food but the lack of favor was disappointing so I asked about my togu not being prepared right which they acknowledged and brought me out JUST the tofu (blackened this time) without remaking the whole dish. They did eventually take that item off the bill, but the manager never came out to speak to us or to acknowledge all the problems we were experiencing. I am highly disgusted and shocked with this experience and the lack of professionalism and hospitality exhibited by the server, the management and the kitchen staff. This was not up to Cameron Mitchell standards what so ever.

I would get it again as they were crispy and delicious. My husband said his salad was refreshing. The jerk chicken dish was really good. The chicken was cooled very nicely and the jerk spices were not overpowering. I do have one complaint though, the dish was dry. There needed to be an element to tie it all together. The rice and tostadas were dry, so we were happy the brussel sprouts were left to add a little bit of moisture. For dessert, I got the jalapeño cheesecake which was really good. It offered the perfect kick and was a new concept to me. My husband did not like the mousse, there was an overpowering liqour taste to it.
