Meal was intended to come with Cajun rice. We didn't receive that nor were we made aware of it.

My family and I visited the Easton location to celebrate my mother's 65th birthday. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. We brought in cupcakes and had to ask the waiter four different times to bring them out. We finally received them about 30 minutes after we had already paid our bill. Then, I ordered two Cajun trout meals to go. I didn't check the bag because my father picked up the meals and everything appeared to be correct. To my surprise, once I arrived home, I realized I did not receive the Cajun rice that comes with the meal. Instead, I received couscous. At no point was it mentioned that the side had been substituted. The service overall was not good, but that was truly the icing on the cake. You should at least receive what you paid for and what was advertised with the meal. To make matters worse, I called to speak with a manager and was left on hold for 10 minutes with no one ever returning to the phone. I called back again, and no one answered. Overall, it was a terrible experience.

This is the metal piece found in my devil egg at J Alexander's Easton location

On March 5, 2026 I was dining at J Alexander's and took a bite of a devil egg and broke a tooth a metal piece in the devil egg. It was my daughter's birthday and all they done was take off the devil eggs they were very rude like I put the metal piece in the food. I am a 65 year old black female with health problems had to have my tooth repaired and the most they offered me was $750 they tried to scare me to take it further. The fact is I wouldn't have went as far as I did if I had been treated like a customer that ordered food anyway and tried to eat but couldn't and they never accommodated the meals. Will never eat there again

Mouse under table at J Alexander's Easton Location

Simply stated this place has delicious food. I enjoyed my meal. Waiter was nice and attentive. PROBLEM: Mouse running around the table across from us. NOT OK. I reported to manager Jordan and she did nothing but say it's getting cold outside so they are trying to come in. Not trying they are. And after spending $100 on a lunch for two this is completely unacceptable at a restaurant of this caliber. I reported to headquarters and they did nothing also. Not even a response. Not that they will look into it. Nothing. Manager does nothing. I have never in all my years ever seen a mouse eating food under a table in a restaurant. I thought it was clean but obviously if mice are out and about in the middle of the day they have a serious issue. If I felt heard or had gotten proper response or action I wouldn't even post this. But it's as though nothing is being done. It's not ok. So hopefully this will bring awareness to the right people at the restaurant to get it clean and get the rodents out!

Have been to this establishment before, but at a different location. You absolutely cannot go wrong with the chicken strips. This portion size is huge! Great flavor, crisp tenders juicy chicken. The Mac n cheese was awesome! Overall nice interior, great service. We had a bit of a wait, but it was to be expected for a Saturday evening in Easton.

    DEVILED EGGS

We ordered a chicken pasta soup & it was salty. Almost tasted like it was 1-2 days old. Ordered Maui steaks, filet mignon, & a burger, all cooked medium...all were overcooked. Ordered steak egg rolls, but they never were served. Salad was good! Deviled eggs were bland. We've eaten a this establishment on numerous occasions, but never experienced this kind of thing. Spoke with a manager that couldn't care less! She should've refunded us for the food we didn't eat, but she didn't! Horrible experience! Won't ever return!

It's truly special when a server makes the effort to get to know everyone at the table, make jokes and join in on the laughs. I was visiting Columbus for the weekend, and throughout the rest of my stay after dinner, I can say this meal was a highlight! The atmosphere was beautiful, and we were seated right away! The cocktails were amazing, I had a strawberry fields. Now as for the short ribs, they melted in my mouth! They paired perfectly with the risotto, truly a great plate of food that felt like home! I have already recommended this place to friends visiting Columbus soon!

We visited yesterday around 3 PM after seeing the new Mario movie. We didn't have a reservation, but seating wasn't an issue at that time. As always, the restaurant was clean, lively, and welcoming. The staff was very kind, and our waitress was attentive throughout our visit. We ordered many of our usual favorites, but my entrée--the braised short rib--was not quite up to the standard I've come to expect. While the meat itself was still tender, moist, and flavorful, the risotto was disappointing. It lacked its usual creamy texture and was noticeably too thick. Additionally, the dish was served with only carrots as the root vegetable, whereas in the past it has included a variety of vegetables that really elevated the overall flavor and presentation. I was especially disappointed because this was actually the first time I remembered to take a photo of my meal before digging in. I came in fully intending to finally leave a glowing five-star review based on all of our previous great experiences--but unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to that expectation. This was surprising, especially given how consistently great this dish--and the restaurant overall--has been during our previous visits. We've dined here at least five times this year and even celebrated our son's third birthday here, so this experience felt out of character. One difference worth noting is that we typically visit for dinner, and this was our first time coming during the afternoon. It's possible there may be differences in the kitchen or service during that time. We do plan to return, as we're hoping this was just an off day. This place has earned a lot of goodwill from us over time, but we wanted to share this experience in case it's helpful for others.

Great. Our server Ava greeted us and took our drink orders. I got the Brunch Sangria. So good. Actually 3 of us got one. Things were moving along. She came back around we put our order in. That was probably around 12:20. Making great time. I got a side salad. A friend got the Wedge. That came out in good timing. It was pretty good. This is when things went left. Around 1:30pm.... The entrees came out. I got the chicken potstickers. The temp on them was ok. But the other meals were cold. Yall... their meals were inedible. We waited all that time for their food to be cold. Not only that there was no check-in being done from our server. Felt kind of neglected. The manager came over to apologize after it was asked if they could have food that was hot. He seemed sorry. But it kind of put a damper on the meal. This is not a cheap place. Expectations are high. They were busy. Totally understand. However to serve cold food is not cool at all. Like I said I ate my potstickers. They were delicious. Could have been a hotter temperature for sure. But it is what it is. Will I go back? Yes. Definitely with the hope of better.

For $20, you get a starter, an entrée, and a dessert, which is hard to beat. The restaurant was quiet without feeling empty, and the background music was just loud enough to create a nice atmosphere while still allowing us to have a conversation. The dining room and the restroom were both clean, which I always appreciate. Our server, Liz, was the highlight of the visit. She was prompt, attentive, and refreshingly honest when I asked about menu substitutions. Instead of saying everything on the menu was great just to make a sale, she gave genuine recommendations, and I really appreciated that. She also stayed on top of our drinks, bringing refills before we ever had to ask. She checked on us several times throughout the meal without being intrusive. We ordered the Cookie Skillet for dessert, and she waited until we were actually finished eating before bringing it out so the ice cream wouldn't melt. It's those little details that make a difference. I started with the fresh garden salad, followed by the BB-style pizza with pepperoni and sausage. At first glance, it looked like sausage only because the pepperoni is layered under the cheese. The pizza was loaded with cheese and toppings, and the crust had a nice texture. The sauce leaned more savory than sweet. I personally prefer a sweeter pizza sauce, but it was still flavorful and enjoyable. We also shared the Carolina Gold chicken chunks, onion rings, and provolone wedges. The onion rings had a nice crispy coating and actually tasted like onions, which isn't always the case. The Carolina Gold chicken chunks were generously coated in the Carolina Gold sauce, but the chicken itself was pretty bland and mostly tasted like the sauce. I also think they could have been cooked just a little longer. The provolone wedges were hot, cheesy, and tasty--it's hard to mess those up, but they definitely hit the spot. The Cookie Skillet was the perfect way to end the meal. The cookie was served warm with crispy edges and a soft, gooey center filled with melted chocolate chips. It was topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and pecans. Even though I boxed up the rest of my meal to take home, I made sure to eat the cookie while it was still warm with the melting ice cream, and I'm glad I did. It was definitely my favorite part of the meal. One small observation: the restroom doors open inward, so if you've got a big back like me, getting out can be a little awkward. Thankfully, the restroom itself was very clean. Overall, I think the 614 Restaurant Week special is a great deal. Between the generous portions, comfortable atmosphere, clean restaurant, and exceptional service from Liz, I'd definitely come back. The food wasn't perfect, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5, but I'd absolutely recommend Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill if you're looking for a casual place where you can enjoy a good meal, have a conversation, and get a lot of food for the price.

So, it wasn't off to a good start. When we finally made it to our table, our waitress didn't seem too thrilled to be there. Staffing appeared to be an issue, which was made apparent when it took a while just to get our water. At least the complimentary bread was good! We placed our orders, but I was extremely let down when the waitress said they ran out of limoncello cake. That was one of the main reasons I chose this restaurant. Bummer! My appetizer was the sausage stuffed mushrooms. The presentation really needed some work, but it was delicious. The sausage had a hint of spice and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly. I then got the chicken parmesan, which came with a side of pasta. Again, excellent dish. Very moist chicken. For dessert, I opted for the turtle cheesecake since limoncello was out of the question. Two others in my party ordered the banana cheesecake, only for our waitress to come out just before handing us our dishes and say, "We're actually out of that too, so you're getting turtle cheesecake." Everyone in my group had to swap out our initial choice, so we weren't thrilled. The turtle cheesecake was delicious though! I was quite surprised. However, the slice was pitiful! It was so small! I felt jipped. To top it off, we had to bus our table at some points because no one took our plates. There wasn't any room for the dessert, so we used the nearby counter to stack our dishes. I really wanted to give a positive review because I enjoyed the food, but the poor service and running out of dessert options ruined it.

Seems rather strange. I could hear them in the kitchen with loud music and let seem to be partying going on. Guessing there is no supervision here. I noticed the other server was using the computer for food and drink orders for a party out in another area, however, ours wrote it on a piece of paper and took it back so I am hoping the money wasn't pocketed. The parking lot seemed extremely dangerous with what looked to be gang activity, loud, sketchy, looking vehicles, and people literally standing in the parking lot, staring us down as we got in the car.... This one didn't offer one, which was a general disappointment (and offering to be might benefit them-- the place was dead for most of the two hours we were there). The space is beautiful and luxurious: a lovely fountain is in the center and signature chandeliers fill the dining area. I was a little disappointed that the choices of seating were were given -- though the place was empty-- was either a very small table (so small our servers apologized for having to awkwardly stack things as dishes came out) or a table attached to the only other large party dining there. Also, while the place is very upscale and very expensive, that vibe was somewhat at odds with other diners who did arrive in what literally looked like old pajama pants and workout gear. The food was all good, but portions are very small for the big prices: entrees are all in the $50 range, sandwiches in the $30 range. A "petite" baked potato (which is petite indeed) was $14; burrata was $26. It was fine, but you can have a true consistently upscale experience elsewhere for those kinds of prices. I'd come back -- if there was a happy hour!
