Restaurant Week Edition Eddie Merlot's continues to be the pinnacle of dining experience. The food is excellent, the service is impeccable, and the overall atmosphere is unlike any other. We came here knowing it was Restaurant Week. It was $60 for an app, main entree, and dessert. This is an extremely underrated deal! I started with the caesar. It was delicious. We also ordered calamari and fries for the table. They were devoured! The main entree had an option of a 6 oz. filet. I upgraded to an 8 oz for a $12 upcharge along with the bacon Gorgonzola topping. Chef's kiss. I'm still thinking about it. I finished with the carrot cake. I left full and happy. Shout out to our server, Chad. He was a hoot! Such a disappointment. Food was in need of help and service was not good. Lamb pot stickers were chewy and tasteless. Ahi tuna was 35-50 percent bigger than other places, but asking for it seared did not have it noticeably seared. It had no wasabi, unusual, and a separate request for it came with 0 heat-- just mayo colored green something Salmon was ok. Just. Waiter had at least 15 tables to service. Ended up very slow service, 25 minutes for appetizers, 20 for a wine pour with ghe bar close. I reserved a private room here for a business dinner. Eddie's did not disappoint. The room was completely private and felt comfortable. I liked that there was a fireplace going to create more of a cozy holiday atmosphere. Our server, Sarah, was the absolute star of the show. She did an awesome job of attending to everyone and asking all the right questions to make sure our group had everything we needed. We started with the shrimp and bruschetta and then the bread and butter came out. The bread was out of this world good! We had 3 options for entrees. Service: Seated us quickly and just as quickly had waters to our table and asked what beverages we might enjoy. Waiter was very attentive and never let my glass of water get below half way. Was very knowledgeable and helped with any questions I had with different items on the menu. Talkative and super friendly. pleasant service. Ambiance/atmosphere: quiet and dimly lit, but not to dark that we were unable to clearly read the menu thanks to the little light placed at the end of each table. Gets a little loud once the place gets more busy, but the noise never exceeded talking tone and was easy to continue a conversation. Food: Sourdough Bread had a good flavor but smelled better than it tasted and was an enjoyable start to the meal. The butter served with the bread was room temp and easy to spread, was definitely a high quality butter and nicely salted. Filet mignon potstickers were absolutely incredible, bursting with flavor and tender while also having a slightly chewy shell. The house made chili oil sauce was fantastic and packed with flavor, even beating most Asian cuisine favored restaurants. Absolutely delicious and a must get appetizer. 16OZ Prime NY Steak was perfectly cooked medium and just tore apart, incredible tender. As an addition the bernaise sauce was incredible, smooth and flavorful the best I've had, it was on the thinner side and was a pour over instead of dip kind of sauce. New Orleans grill: perfectly cooked tender filet, delicious and generous portion of shrimp. The seasoning was perfect and the shrimp cooked to perfection to match. The sausage it came with although very tasty, had much more of a kick than my partner could handle and I ended up eating it myself. Mash potatoes were creamy and soft and had a rich flavor, but wasn't any highlighting factor. The Mac n cheese was ok. creamy and a decent flavor with a good bread crumb that isn't over done like most steakhouses. I wouldn't recommend. jalapeño gratin potatoes a few months ago were amazing. Unfortunately they changed the recipe and this last visit was bland. I mean zero flavor besides maybe a couple of bites. It was unfortunate to see a Favorite dish fall so far. I wouldn't recommend. Dessert: I enjoyed an absolutely enormous dinner plate sized carrot cake. The carrot cake is tender and moist with a not too sweet cream cheese icing. Beautiful pops of pineapple through the cake. Sadly not enough walnuts for my liking and no raisins, but nonetheless the better flavored carrot cakes you can find. I'd recommend. peanut butter cake was good, a very nice peanut butter filling and a complimenting chocolate ganache and definitely the best peanut tuile l've ever had. I had a great meal and experience here. I was solo and so I just sat at the bar and had dinner. The wedge salad was excellent. I asked them to prepare the sea bass with the ahi tuna rice, veggie, and sauce pairing instead of the standard preparation. Took a minute but they figured it out and it was excellent. I also tried the Eddie's potatoes and they were also excellent. Great wine by the glass choices and prompt service. I will be back again. read more

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic service. We had a business dinner there this week, and everything was perfect. The potstickers and shrimp cocktail were delicious appetizers, and the grilled romaine salad accompanied those perfectly. My filet was much closer to medium well than medium rare but still tasted great. My coworkers tried the ribeye and Cajun grill with great reviews from both. The lobster Mac was ok, I found it to be flat and not too flavorful, but others enjoyed. The grilled asparagus and Brussels were much more to my taste. Desert was a giant slice of carrot cake to share, and we still left over half behind. It's huge, and delightful. The cream cheese frosting was to die for. We had Angels Envy espresso martinis with it, and those were tasty. Wine selection was good, service amazing, and would overall return again if in the area. read more

We started our evening with drinks. BF had Burnt Orange Manhattan and I had Angels Envy, both on the rocks. We each had a Shrimp Cocktail. Each of the shrimps were huge! I had a Caesar Salad, which was very fresh. I had a regular Filet Mignon and BF had Wagyu Filet Mignon. It was sooooo tender and melted in your mouth. We shared Garlic Butter Mashed Potatoes and Wild Mushrooms. Since we were celebrating, we shared a Vanilla Cognac Brownie. They pour flaming cognac over the whole thing and drizzle with Hot Fudge. Pretty underwhelming anniversary dinner held here. Maybe my expectations were too high as this had been on my list to try for a while. The pros: Server was pleasant enough (Sorry, don't recall his name.) Ambiance was decent, although maybe a bit outdated. My husband's ribeye was well-cooked and flavorful. This was probably the only part of the meal that really hit the mark, so they can at least do steaks right! The cons: Cocktail was terrible. I had the prickly pear margarita. It tasted medicinal, not a good balance of flavor at all. For my meal I tried the ahi tuna. The rice that it came with was incredibly hard and inedible. They did include a complimentary crème brûlée dessert for our anniversary which was nice, and the peanut butter cup was pretty good as well, although I would have enjoyed a thicker crust/a little more texture. All in all, not the worst, but I'd be hard pressed to find the desire to return, especially given the price point. read more

Eddie Merlot is one of many excellent high end places for steak and seafood in the greater Columbus area. I love the ambience if this restaurant. It is a great place for a party or a romantic night out. The service is also generally very good from the hostess to the servers. Our last visit was excellent. The appetizers (bbq shrimp and crab cakes) were both delicious. The only nit was that the crab cakes were quite small. My wife and I shared the bourbon ribeye, which was perfectly cooked, and surprisingly plenty of food. The onion straws were good as well. Overall an excellent experience. read more

The overall experience was an A+ but the food was surprisingly bland. Bought a Tomahawk steak for $135 and the person I was with said the steaks I make at home are better than this. We went here to check out their happy hour deal. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking. It was busy so I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time! I was kind of bummed we didn't get to sit in the main room as that was where the aesthetics of the restaurant was. We were seated right away and service was top notch. The happy hour deal is $8 apps and $8 cocktails. I got the spicy pineapple margarita and was actually not a fan. There were what seemed like chopped up chunks of jalapenos in the drink and it would get stuck in the straw. Was not a pleasant experience. We enjoyed the G&T though! My friend and I split the filet mignon potstickers, filet mignon sliders with a side of truffle fries, and prime french dip sliders with a side of their house made potato chips. We ended the meal with the New York cheesecake. Everything was so good, especially the potstickers. I would definitely also recommend getting a side of truffle fries for an additional $2! I also loved that they have an extensive wine menu. If I lived closer to Eddie Merlot's I would come back for their happy hour deals! read more

Wow. I've been disappointed here before several times. Ambience is wonderful, but the food is below average. Had a dozen oysters and the meat in the shells were a joke. The filet was good but the lobster tail had so many pieces of shell in them. I tried to give Eddie one more shot but the failure is unacceptable. I'd rather do Outback. Eddie can't hold a candle to the likes of Jeff Ruby , Mitchell's or even Ruth Chris. Shout out to Greg for the amazing service, but the food is a joke. read more

Husband and I dined at Eddie Merlot's December 25, 2025 around lunchtime. While the venue was superb, the food quality, portion size and service were mediocre. The server brought me the wrong wine I ordered, we had to ask for water glasses to be refilled, and the overall experience was less than stellar. When we're paying around $200 for a high end meal on a holiday, it did not meet the expectation. We will stick with Hyde Park in the Dublin, OH area going forward. read more

I haven't been to Eddie merlots in several years and I remember why after my Father's Day lunch. The servers were awesome. The cocktail I ordered was excellent but the food was just average. Yet it's priced like a competitor to Hyde park and others. The grilled romaine salad was something I knew Id crave after I left. The three medallion meal was lacking. I found the bearnaise and Oscar sauces to be lacking. I know that's what they are known for but it wasn't good. My kids both had medallions while one had fries and one had mashed potatoes. They loved the steak and mashed potatoes. The fries are not good. They blanch the fries, dry them, fry them, let them rest and double fry them. It's a lot of work going into making a fry intentionally inedible. I know it's Father's Day but I also wasn't appreciative that they placed all the families in a section away from the main dining room Overall It's not worth the price. read more

Excellent night out at eddie merlots in Columbus. We came from out of town and the experience was wonderful. This was a traditional steakhouse where they do meat presentation so you can be informed of your steak prior to ordering. Our server Michael was great. He was very informative and couldn't do enough for you . The menu is heavy on filet mignon so we ordered the sweet and sour filet mignon potsticker's and the ceaser salad to split. Both were great. My husband and i both ordered the filet mignon with the bacon gorgonzola which was the perfect topping. The meat was tender and flavorful and we were stuffed. Prepare to spend some money but actually worth the price that you're paying for awesome food. I ordered the filet Minon potstickers. That ran for about $16 as an appetizer and I had a glass of the house Pinot Grigio which ran about $10 a glass. Since I already ate, this was already filling for me. The prime steak cuts run anywhere between $30 to $90 depending on how big it is and the cut of the steak you're getting. Overall, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and it's right off of I -71 N Polaris Parkway exit and next to the Polaris Mall and directly in front of the Hilton Polaris hotel. Check it out. I think with all the steakhouses we have here in Cbus, Eddie Merlot's doesn't make my list of favorites. They have things I like, but overall it's not memorable. To start, I came here celebrating my anniversary. There was a cute card on the table, but it ended there. We didn't care either way, but they didn't do anything special. Their bread is delicious. It has this seasoning on it that's super unique! We split the chopped salad, and while I understand splitting a size is going to be small, this was abnormally tiny. Even combining the two, I would've been disappointed with the whole side salad portion. It was a bummer because their chopped is great. The brussel sprouts were okay. Nothing bad nothing great. We felt they were a little undercooked and hard still. The Mac and cheese is good! For steak we got the bourbon one. While the sweetness IS different for a steak, it was overpowering where I couldn't taste the actual meat. I probably wouldn't get it again. We ordered cake for our anniversary, but paid for it, and I was wowed by it. So delicious! I would come back just for the cake and bread lol. The service is fine. Overall, just an okay experience. Went here for a dinner with coworkers. The restaurant has a nice decor. The wine list was too price for my taste and even with me not paying I passed. The appetizers were good. We ordered a variety, shrimp, calamari, bacon wrapped shrimp, and fried asparagus. IMO I'd pass on bbq sauce on bacon and shrimp, didn't mix to me. For dinner I had the salmon plank with lobster bisque. The soup was good, except it only had one piece of lobster. That piece had a she'll crunch with it. I'd skip the soup for those reasons. The salmon comes with spinach leafs around it, I think, and bbq glaze on it with a line of cream sauce. The salmon was good with bbq sauce, but I I didn't like the cream sauce mixed with bbq. This took away from the taste. I bought seafood because they didn't have pork chops or chicken, small menu. Desert was. Crème brûlée, which was how I liked it. A custard with recently melted sugar. I also tried the bananas foster, which I like the show. Show is better then taste. Overall this is an average steakhouse. read more

I think I'm a steakhouse person now! I never seek to go to steakhouses since I'm not big into steak, but service and seafood are really doing it for me lately and I think I'm steakhouse convert. Eddie Merlot's is no exception. I've been to two of their wine dinners recently (April and May's) and loved the food and drink pairings. Last night's was featuring Caymus and every dish was delicious. It's such a good value as well... 4-5 courses with wine pairings. You sit at a table with others joining for the wine dinner and get to meet new people. I know that's not for everyone to sit with others (especially at a tasting menu price point), but we love to be social and meet others and chat about all things wine and food so it was great for us. The wine dinner courses are unique and don't exactly match their regular menu, but I have full faith in their dinner menu if these dishes are an indicator of their taste, quality and presentation. If you're in Polaris / Westerville area, I'd definitely recommend making Eddie Merlots an upcoming date night. Or even if you're not and just want a little evening outside of downtown. Yes you're in the suburb, but it has country club feels and you feel transported to a relaxing getaway. read more
