Beautiful place right on the water. Watch the ferries come and go. Great service and seafood!!! Free parking across the street.

We decided to pickup dinner from Ivar's tonight we've been doing that for years. We went with the Barge which is a fair amount of fish and chips and a couple of cups of clam chowder.I also selected oysters and chips. Ivar's food has always been consistently good we been to other locations and it's been the same there. Nothing fancy but good fill you up food. What's nice also is we haven't had any errors with our orders over the years, when we do dine in the restaurant is clean and well staffed.

Fast Food. And really good food. The Salmon BLT was new for me. Hard to beat NorthWest Salmon. Good size meal. Great taste. Finished off with Key Lime Cheesecake. Service was quick. This was 9/9/25

Ivar's is my favorite place to go for seafood, because it told me that I actually like seafood, because before I had Ivar's, I would never touch a fish or clam ever. Anyway, it was awfully quiet in there when I went, usually I hear some noise, but there was absolutely nothing except me and my family talking. I can't say anything about the service, it was just "Can I get your order?" And "Here is your order." No chitter-chatter from our server. Ivar's is really good, I recommend it!

    Worst grilled salmon ever

We stopped here on a recommendation. We are from out of town. We got the grilled salmon plate, kids fish n chips and their original clam chowder. This was prob one of the worst meals and cost about $40. The salmon was super dry and hard, flavorless. Coleslaw super sweet. Corn bread - the only good thing. Fish n chips - not good and crispy. Breading sucks. Clam chowder is quite flavorless with a thick paint-like liquid texture. It was odd. Man we felt like we wasted money. We ended up tossing half of everything. During pick up, the servers were very nice though. But I was most disappointed in the grilled salmon.

Always good steady quality of food. Quick and nice servers. Casual and gentle customers. It's always pleasant to visit this location. Can get a bit crowded but worth the wait. Our favorite chowder place!

The location is excellent for a spot to walk outside while waiting or after eating. The food here on the other hand was not great. I think the fusion flavors did not meet my pallet one bit. I was lost in all the sauce and wonder of what was trying to be accomplished. The sauce for my spicy wontons tasted like its been sitting in cornstarch and flavor for a bit, and the clams I had was a confusing flavor. The walnut shrimp wraps were just okay and pork shumai was the only decent thing I had there. I would not come here for food again, but they have their location and setting on point. The service was just okay. Our waiter was nice, but I felt as if they were rushing us. We were there for about an hr and I felt a little bit rushed. They close at 11pm and at the time it was 9:45. Would i come again? Probably not, I love the location but there are so many other places nearby to try in the future. I would love this place to suit my pallet, it just does not. 3 stars are just for the atmosphere alone.

Apparently there is no point in making a reservation. We had to wait for a table despite having made a reservation, which brings this restaurant down to the level of fast food or greasy-spoon diner - very disappointing. I see this as a huge failure of management. If someone arrives on time for their reservation, they should be seated immediately, no excuses. Failing this shows a complete disregard for and disrespect of the customer. It is a reservation, not a general comment that we might arrive. Kudos to the chef(s) for very good food and to the busser who seemed to grasp customer service better than others. There is room for improvement on table / reservation management, to put it mildly.

What we got: Alaskan cod 4.5/5 Nicely fried and the fish good as is without any sauce. Halibut 5/5 This was our favorite out of the two; realy nicely fried and the fish is just so flaky and taste great as is. Onion ring 5/5 My wife love onion rings and she said this was the best so far; it was perfect amount of batter and nicely fried as well. Both fish were great; the fries......its alright. They mightve fried them a bit too long; we still finish them tho Including tips; i paid $80 for all three; but i wouldnt mind paying knowing that its gna be great! Our dining experience began with cold appetizers, including a mixed black fungus dish with a satisfying crunch and tangy vinegar flavor, alongside pickled lotus root vegetables with a garlicky and subtly spicy taste. For our main courses, we opted for the Deep Fried Fish Szechuan Style, which was filled with cod fish, had a lighter batter coating, and a pleasing crunch, but beware of its savory and fiery flavor, which intensifies after several bites. We also selected the Szechuan Hometown Tofu, which offered our taste buds a savory flavor, enhanced by chili sauce, a crunchy exterior, and a soft, silky interior. On the side, we ordered a bowl of steamed purple rice and white rice. This exceptional culinary experience combines the perfect balance of crunchiness, chili spice, garlicky freshness, and sweetness, rich flavors of Szechuan cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Szechuan-style dining experience.

The sweet and sour chicken was drowning in sauce even though we asked more than once for the sauce to be on the side. We liked the bell peppers and onions in the sauce. The chicken pieces were of decent size. I did not care for the sauce. The white rice was well made and fluffy. The rice was probably the best part of the dish. About an hour later, we ended up throwing up the food. A complete waste of $31 dollars (which is pricey for what was supposed to be a lunch special). Also, vegetable chow mein and chicken chow mein is the same price which we found out after we had paid. Lunch is pictured and mention to include soup BUT you only get soup if you dine in. The place looked clean the the people seemed friendly. We may give them one more chance bc of the friendly service.

You walk in to a shelf full of solid-value wines, mostly local, aimed to pair with whatever you might take home with you to cook. The ceilings are high, and the walls and floors are all spotless white. No decorations, very little merchandising, if any. There's a long butcher case on the left full of all kinds of crazy treats. Prawns the size of bratwursts. Steaks, roasts, different fish. They skip most of the stuff that supermarkets carry and focus only on more-specialty stuff. Their stock is either a nicer version or it's something that's unavailable elsewhere. You do pay for quality like this on some of the stuff, but if you're cooking a meal you're really looking forward to, the value makes it reasonable. Not everything is expensive, either. They had fresh lemons on the case for 40% less than the supermarket up the street. They had reds, whites, bubblies, and pinks in the wine section with every bottle under $20. And those fish dips, man. I'm surprised they don't sell out by afternoon every day. We had wild salmon and black cod dips before dinner last night, and both were fantastic. They're very well balanced, so maybe you could add hot sauce or fresh herbs to taste, but we've had them several times and never felt compelled to tune them up.
