We love going to Ivars in Everett. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. But the prices are getting out of hand. We got two 5 piece cod and 2 fountain drinks and it was $48. Ivar's has been my go to for fish n chips for years. Love the white chowder. And there's variety, fish, jumbo shrimp, clams etc. the Caesar salad is well flavored. I only wish they were more consistent. Sometimes the fish is cooked perfectly. Other times it's over cooked and dry, it even seems like the coating isn't the same light batter. But, I keep going because when it's good, it's YUM! We decided to pickup dinner from Ivar's tonight we've been doing that for years. We went with the Barge which is a fair amount of fish and chips and a couple of cups of clam chowder.I also selected oysters and chips. We got here not long before closing, visiting out of town and because it was late didn't have a lot of options. Decided to try the food anyway and it was horrible. We hadn't been to an Ivar's since 2021 because, generally, the food quality had really gone downhill. Recently, hoping that things had improved, we ordered takeout from the 41st Street location in Everett. The staff was great and very nice. Unfortunately, the food was absolutely disgusting. The fish was greasy and had the consistency of rubber, as though it had been under heat lamps for hours. The french fries were soggy and drowning in oil. And even the White Clam Chowder was only so-so. We just threw most of it away since it was inedible. I wish this hadn't been the case because we used to really enjoy Ivar's fish & chips...but I think this was the last time we'll be taking a chance on them. read more

There was this young gentleman Samir running the front of house like a boss! The way he talks to people just shows me this kid was raised right! He immediately acknowledged my wife and l as we walked in, asked us how our days were, and just all in all made dinner for my wife and I 10x better. We got the original fish and chips after going back and forth deciding between the salmon and combination options, which I observed to be a popular order when we were dining near the ordering counter. The original fish and chips came out hot and fresh. We loved them. Our friends recommended the clam chowder but we didn't have the appetite built up to try that one. But I'd trust their recommendation and go for the clam chowder if you can. Before we left, a worker came by and personally delivered mints and hand wipes to each customer. Silly me thought this was a full service restaurant- it's not, it's a semi-fast food restaurant. Once I altered my thinking, I ordered the cod 3 piece meal & berry cheesecake. Robert ordered scallops & chowder & we took fish-n-chips back to Eddie @ the hotel. The fish is thin pieces- like fish fingers over a basket of fries. The scallops were small, fried. I love Ivers chowder and garlic vinegar. I also love the breading they use. This location is pretty consistent with hot fresh food and chowder that's the perfect consistency. They now have online ordering with texts to let you know when your food is ready. It's great and very convenient. They have a big parking lot so there's always parking even at lunch time. read more

For over 20 years, anyone I travel with into Washington has had to deal with my obsession with Ivar's clam strips and clam chowder. I first discovered my love of all things Ivar's way back when they had a food court location at Bellis Fair mall. I now have to trek quite a bit further to get my fix. Others enjoy their lightly breaded fish, but I come for the overly battered clam strips. Stay clam everyone. Since I find it usually isn't enough, I also order the clam chowder. I prefer the white, because tomatoes and clam chowder should never be in the same pot/bowl. As their prices continue to rise, I hesitantly only offer 4 stars as the value has gone down. Dropped by the walk-up Ivar's down by the Mukilteo ferry dock. There is no substitute for going inside the restaurant and sitting down for a great dinner. So, do that if you can. It's great. The grab and go is good though! I had the three piece fish and chips and Red Clam Chowder. They were all hot and warmed me up on a cold day. The chowder and chips were especially good. Their chowder is absolutely awesome. The chips were a bit crispy on the outside and what seemed to be tad under cooked and a bit wet (not moist, wet). But I think this was just a one off. They've always been great. It's been awhile since I've been to Ivar's. Way too long. I need to go more often. The outside is a good business move. It was helpful to me tonight. We ordered the original fish and chips & cajun fish and chips. While the cajun fish and chips were great the original ones lacked some seasoning. The fish tasted fresh and melted in the mouth but it defintely lacked some flavors and seasoning. Food is priced reasonably and customer service is great. If i do stop by again I will definitely recommend having their cajun fish and chips. read more

Really disappointed with the service and food at this location! I ordered 2 orders of the 5 pieces of fish and chips. Which I did by DoorDash. I specifically called and asked for extra tartar sauce to be added...We got none!!! How do you eat fish and chips without tartar sauce. To add insult to injury I had forgot an order of cornbread and it cost $5 more to add cause there a $2 charge by door dash to add it and the cornbread tasted old! The order for two people cost $50 with tips etc. and it was completely disappointing.. The fries were not even redeeming enough to feel at least something was good in what was delivered... and to top it off when we called to complain their response was to go through DoorDash! - To do what? Send the driver back cause they forgot the tartar sauce!!!! What happened to "good customer" service when getting food from restaurants???
