Really disappointed with the service and food at this location! I ordered 2 orders of the 5 pieces of fish and chips. Which I did by DoorDash. I specifically called and asked for extra tartar sauce to be added...We got none!!! How do you eat fish and chips without tartar sauce. To add insult to injury I had forgot an order of cornbread and it cost $5 more to add cause there a $2 charge by door dash to add it and the cornbread tasted old! The order for two people cost $50 with tips etc. and it was completely disappointing.. The fries were not even redeeming enough to feel at least something was good in what was delivered... and to top it off when we called to complain their response was to go through DoorDash! - To do what? Send the driver back cause they forgot the tartar sauce!!!! What happened to "good customer" service when getting food from restaurants??? In the old days, a manager would send someone to fix such a disaster of an order!!! Especially because we are 2 blocks away with no car! read more

We went to Ivars on a heavy snow day because we had a craving for fish and chips. We checked their social media feed and found out that this Ivar's was open when the Mukilteo location was not. We were in luck because we came in right before they closed. The person who took our order was friendly and personable. The cook looked like he had had it with the day. I thought they had been slammed but the cashier said it had been dead all day except for the last hour. However, it seemed that there was some confusion when we said the Mukilteo location was closed. One of the workers said that it was open. Not that we would have gone there, but it seemed odd that the social media was inconsistent with reality. Because there were hardly any orders in front of us, we got our food fast--and came home with a little more of it than usual, which I thought was really nice of them. Even the cook, when he handed us our order, was polite and without the attitude I expected based on the look on his face when we walked in. I took a star away because 1. Ivar's prices are so high now. $10 for two pieces of panko-crusted cod! 2. The true cod we received seemed less than fresh. Since this is the closest Ivar's to home, we are here from time to time. For the most part, it's consistent (if not super busy) and always hits the spot when the craving for clam chowder hits! read more

If I'm in the area Of Ivars it seems to always be a good option. They have always been consistent with the light breading with a touch of crispy, not oily and tender flaky fish. Clam chowder could have used more clam in it but again it always has that classic ivars flavor. read more

Whatever you do, don't order 'Taste of the Northwest for Two" at Mukilteo's Landing. My boyfriend brought me here for Mother's Day (2021). We ordered this. And the waitress (who was awesome!) put down in front of us one plate consisting of a small cod filet and a small piece of salmon, each about 4" by 21/2". I honestly thought it was a JOKE!!! There were also 2 small crab cakes, a mound of mashed potatoes and 8-10 stalks of asparagus. That was it. I so wish I had had the presence of mind to take a photo. So we cut the cod and salmon in half, we each got a crab cake (WOW) and divided the mashed potatoes and the asparagus. My poor boyfriend paid $68 for this! This is the second time I've complained about this restaurant for the very same reason. They are VERY stingy with their food...unlike, say, Indian restaurants or even sandwich shops where you practically HAVE TO take food home because they are so generous. It is really outrageous that they charged 68 bucks for such a tiny amount of food...and the salmon was overdone, to boot! I can only imagine the profit they make from serving customers small servings. My b.f. paid a heck of a lot for that nice view...which was the only good thing about this experience. I will never go here again. In summary: stay away from this restaurant UNLESS you have money to throw away and are not all that hungry. Another class in Everett, another lunch in Everett. Not all Ivar's Seafood Bar's are the same. No. No they are not. The last time I went to an Ivar's it was a disaster, but not this one. This location was surprisingly good. (And safe considering that it's in Everett) First a word about the employees. Great employees! They're engaged, intelligent, courteous and efficient. You could see that they had a well oiled team at this location. I ordered the cod fish n chips; which has always been my favorite thing at Ivar's, and I wasn't disappointed. It was exactly how I remember it, no 2nd rate substitute like that alluded to Ivar's above. About safety, while this location is in Everett it was surprisingly safe and clean. Not just inside, but outside too. I didn't worry about my car being robbed or vandalized while I ate my fish. The bathroom wasn't even locked up tight. No needle bins... a nice departure for an Everett location. The restaurant was spotless, the service was great and the food was delicious. Ivar's, you restored my faith in you. read more

This is my go-to fish & chips - and I'm all in for the tartar sauce. I don't have Ivar's as often as I used to (probably good for my waistline) but whenever I fly out of SeaTac - this is my spot. I love the fresh cod in the fish & chips and the fries (once salted) are great. I used to always get the chowder because it's so creamy and good - I just can't eat as much as I used to. Been to Ivar's in Everett twice now, have never been to any of their other locations. It's a more casual, fast style, not a sit-down restaurant. Prices are great and the food is good! Salmon fish and chips and the chowder in a bread bowl both were really tasty! Service has been mostly friendly. Restaurant has been messy, but is usually cleaned up within the time that we're there. Portions were much larger one time than the other. And one time there were quite a few flies in there. These are the small little reasons I would knock it down a star. But we'll definitely be back! I had a prawn basket with chowder and my daughter had the cod basket with chowder The boys had chicken strips kids meals (which of course they didn't eat) And my other daughter had mac and cheese kids meal. As always the chowder was great! It's Ivars! The prawns and fish are good. The raved about food was the mac and cheese My daughter loves mac and cheese and she couldn't get enough The only thing that bothered me was the ice tea it had the nastiest particles floating inside of it. I like that the fish is wild fish, not farm. The chowder is something you must have. The crab salad is also good. Crab is fresh with reasonable amount. I didn't take pictures but wanted to give thumbs up to the Cajun cod and chips and the kids cod and chips. Both of those were excellent, decent size and cooked perfectly. Not grease soaked. On a whim I also ordered the lobster roll as it's a limited item that is temporary. The photos looked compelling and I decided to just go for it. I think it was priced at $13.50. The lobster roll was NOT good. The roll itself was quite rubbery. It seemed like it may have been reheated in a microwave, and the lobster pieces were unidentifiable. I couldn't tell, if they were lobster nuggets, deep-fried or clams or?... There was a little bit of coleslaw in the roll, but we ended up picking out the so-called lobster pieces and throwing away the roll. It was an expensive mistake, but I won't make it again. I'll just stick to what I know and what they do well with the fish and chips. The service was good and friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and tidy. Ivars! Oh how I've missed you. How is it that you just totally get me. And fries. And of course fish. OK my first time back in over a year and just as I remember. Today we had the Alaskan Salmon Dinner and the clams & chips. Salmon is listed as wild and was perfectly cooked. It came with a gorgeous & well done wild rice as well as their signature coleslaw. To finish, they added a cornbread muffin with honey & butter on the side. The clams & chips ... No rubber clams here! And hot too. I really love getting to visit Ivars when I come to town. I'm not sure if it's because they don't have adequate ventilation or they never change the oil in the fryers or if their fish is old. Food: Ok I am going to start with the food. The food was solid. Chowder was really good, and the fish was as good as one would expect at an Ivars. Good quality, a little bit dry but tasty with tarter for sure. Would come again just for the food I'd say. Cleanliness: very clean and you constantly see people walking around cleaning. Not just the high school kid that drudgingly pushes a mop or a rag around. I'm talking people that give a darn. A few cuts in the seats from use but solid non-the-less. Food was meh. Service was horrendous. We get a four piece, a three piece and a bowl of chowder. Not too complicated. Somehow the bowl of chowder is the real challenge here. Grabbing an empty bowl made of paper and filling it with a heaping ladle of chowder that is ALREADY MADE was the extremely difficult task at hand on this day. Just got back from this location. I walked in and of course nobody greeted me and I kind of stood around for a bit until I was acknowledged. I walked in to get a bowl of chowder. It was about 45 mins until close. I can clearly see that there is no chowder left in the big vat it's just completely empty and caked with dry chowder on the bottom. I ask her if they have any chowder. She then goes "oh yes we do and shows me the menu". That's clearly not what I meant. I then tell her I'd like a bowl of white. She rings me up and it's about $9. She then immediately disappears into the back for a bit and comes out with about 4 cups of boiling hot water and pours it into the empty vat and starts mixing the remaining bits and pieces that resembled chowder around with the ladle. I am really in disblief at this moment. They are going to charge me 9 dollars for hot water. I told her I'd like a refund and I tell her there is no chowder left. Amazingly she starts to BS me and goes on and on about "oh that's just how we do it. It comes really thick". HAH. She actually was trying to sell it really hard as if I didn't just watch her pour 4 boiling cups of hot water into an empty vat of chowder that had dry remnants of the chowder caked on the inside.
