We love coming here and ordering burgers and fries. They also have great shakes. They have a walk up window that is popular during the summer. The line has a few cars but moves quickly. Seems to always be busy and hits the spot. They added a covered patio for the winter and rainy season. read more

The Chicken has had a consistent menu and great food for decades. Always delivers on taste and quality. The only drawback to the establishment the last couple years is that it has been a hang out for loud and disrespectful teenagers hanging around the outside. They cuss and yell obscenities regardless if you have children present or retaliate in poor taste when you ask them to please be respectful of the children present. Exactly what I would expect from a drive in. Burger was a flavorful thin patty with fresh veggies. Mushroom caps were the highlight for me! Nice crispy outside. Food always comes out freshly made and pippin hot, that's why it takes longer than other fast food joints. My kid has wanted to try this place and said all the kids eat there after school so we gave it a try. We were told the fries and milkshakes were delicious. There is no real parking for the place bc it is just a drive thru with a walk up window. The place has long lines in the afternoon and around dinner time. The location is not good. The fries are good especially when they have the seasoned salt on them. The sauces we have tried with them have not been good nor do the fries need any sauce when seasoned properly. The oreo milkshake is very thick and delicious. You have to let it melt to drink it otherwise you need a spoon to scoop it out to have it right away. It is one of the best milkshakes around but it is not cheap. My kids say it is worth it but they aren't paying for it! . We will come back for fries and milkshakes from time to time. Fairly busy drive in for the area. Seems like a very popular joint. Lots of kids and teens at the walk up area and the drive thru has a line. I opted for a kids cheeseburger meal to try. It was good however the hamburger patty is EXTREMELY THIN and it's very saucy. It also had a lot of pickles. The fries and fry sauce were delicious. I'll have to try something else next time I go, for example a regular sized burger vs the kids. read more

SHAKES ARE AMAZING! First time we just got shakes on a Saturday. It was packed! Long wait, long line! Shakes were so good and people recommended to try the food. We we went back on a Friday for food. No line! I got a jalapeño burger and garlic fries. My daughter got a bacon cheeseburger and regular fries. I was so disappointed in the food. It was soggy, jalapeños tasted weird, like that canned preserved flavor. Lettuce was shredded, bun was soggy, the patty looked weird! I won't be going back for food but definitely for the shakes. To us, with our exhausted bodies from the long hike, it was scrumptious. Fries: crinkle cut fries that tasted really fresh. No complaints. Mushroom caps: the best part of the meal. One of those perfectly fried, burst in your mouth with burning juices kind of deal! Blueberry shake: a little syrupy but didnt expect fresh berries at all. Got what I expected. Total price came out to $26ish and they ask for tip. We would come back again because we didnt really find anything else around at Lake Steven's. So if you're done hiking Goat Lake, Lake 22 or those other hikes nearby, I would give this place a try. My family and I eat here regularly and the burgers are great! I like them so much that I haven't tried anything else! Order your burger or entree as a basket to get fries and a drink (like a combo). The prices are very reasonable for what you get. My son gets the cheeseburger kids meal and has never complained, and my daughter has tried the fish sandwich, fish and chips - kids size and adult size. The kids size was not quite enough food for her- she's 11, so keep that in mind. She has recently been getting the grilled chicken Caesar salad and loves it. We have had the shakes and of the ones we've tried, the eggnog has been the best! The only negative for me is that they sometimes do not get the order correct if you ask for something to be modified- twice they put everything on my daughter's fish sandwich after being asked to have it with lettuce only and she wouldn't touch it! If it had only happened once I wouldn't think anything of it- people make mistakes- but it happened twice, so that was kind of frustrating, but it didn't stop us from continuing to eat here! The service itself is good and quick, which is great because they are usually pretty busy and the line can be long; don't let that deter you because it does move fairly quickly. Tried the bacon cheeseburger next, which was another total flop. Both visits prior to today were so under-sauced that I decided to request extra mayo to see if I could get at least a tablespoon. Terrible idea! I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, extra mayo extra tomato, plus honey mustard. The girl on the speaker kept trying to serve me a "grilled cheese." After correcting her several times I pulled to the window & waited about 6 minutes ... for a single bag that weighed close to a pound. Chicken strips are just the chicken patties from the chicken sandwiches. They are really flat, still juicy and have a nice Panko crust. They're my favorite thing I've tried so far! They are much better than the chicken nuggets. My husband liked the shrimp and chips better than the fish and chips, but the fish and chips was also good. The curly fries are fine but surprisingly the crinkle cut were better. Mozzarella sticks were cooling down by the time we got home, but they were pretty good. Overall, food was fresh and hot.
