This place is conveniently located along the Centennial Trail at the south end of downtown Arlington. It is a great lunch spot for those who are biking (or in our case, e-biking) along the trail. We all had burgers of one form or another - we ordered at the counter and then waited outside at a shaded picnic table. The burgers were large, delicious, and a bit messy. Fries were great, with very generous portions. I'm sure there are other great places to eat in Arlington, but we've done the bike stop here twice and we'll certainly continue to do so. read more

Such a cool and promising restaurant to walk into. The decor is fun and inviting and the line was so long. My party and I stayed for about an hour and half and the line never went away. It was so crowded! The service itself wasn't great which is saying something given there are no servers. You wait in line and order at the front, then you find a table (if you're lucky) and they bring the food out to you. Last Saturday, our cashier was a young blonde female and she genuinely seemed miserable. An incredibly unwelcoming presence and that followed with similar service by the rest of the staff. It was odd given the very minimal interactions most people probably have with the staff to begin with. The food is good. If you want a burger and fries and some huge onion rings, this is your place. It's not an out of this world burger and definitely not a place I'd recommend because of the food itself but the atmosphere. It's really what makes this restaurant so fun. It wasn't the food and definitely not the customer service for me. It was the atmosphere. Therefore, I probably won't go back. Food service is one of the hardest jobs in my opinion and I don't want to ever take my family and friend back to a place where I felt like an inconvenience just ordering my food. 2nd time visiting. Tried the fish & Chips, wife had the burger with a side of onion rings with a vanilla shake. Not sure if it's on purpose but 2nd time the fish & chips seemed over cooked. Not sure if it's the fryer oil, on purpose, or just by accident but fish, fries and onion rings all seemed heavier and over cooked. Maybe I am not use to all the deep fried food. This is our go-to place after a day at the river. Their milkshakes are thick and made of actual icecream (not that edible-oil-product lots of places serve), they offer lots of flavor options, mixed berry has been my favorite so far, while my friends love the Oreo cookie flavor. Their burgers are extra large and so are their onion rings! Their fries are homemade and delicious dipped in their fry sauce. Lovely employees and great ambience! Random drive on a Sunday morning to find cheaper gas found us at Nutty's. The food was amazing! Fresh. Tasty. Huge. And yummy. The order took a bit, but that's because it's not fast food. It's good food with s super fun atmosphere. While we waited we marveled at all the "stuff." Got recommended this place by a coworker. Walking in it's extremely quiet maybe play some music or something idk. Ordering was pretty simple but no one took my name for the order curious on how they'll find me. The lady who took my order asked me if she took down my name when handing me my food. Tables are sticky, restaurant was kinda musty, bathroom smelled like copper due to the Pennies, bugs inside just completely disgusting. Now onto the food! Actually very good fires were v not too greasy same as the onion rings. Which were crispy and overly battered. Unfortunately the upkeep and care of the restaurant took away from the food. Can't fully enjoy my food if the area around me isn't even somewhat clean. I understand it's called junkyard but at what point do we say to hell with a cleanish environment. The patties were dry, bone dry. Fries were not tasty and dry, too. Ambiance: it's a loud and crowded place. Did I say crowded? I don't know why it's crowded; perhaps, there aren't other restaurants nearby. People eating there are loud and the kids they bring are obnoxiously loud and have no sense of other customers and the parents did not even attempt to teach. Service: slow and lousy. I mean slooooow. Conclusion: what's the verdict? Failing grade. Perhaps, they should hire some adults to do the cooking. We used to love this place, but our last few visits were not good. We recieved fries that were undercooked and the next visit they were burnt. The burger just isn't as good as it used to be. The fish is also inconsistent in cooking and quality, but at least it's better than the burgers have been. The staff seems overwhelmed and consequently they are unhappy and it shows in their customer service and their attitudes. You can tell these meals are made with love. I always order too much and have enough for leftovers which makes me happy because I love to always order fries, rings, and a burger. Breading/batter tasted over done with a slightly burned flavor and like the oil was either old or just had been used for too long. Didn't finish the rings. Tarter sauce was in a small little container and had good flavor. Fountain drinks - Coke brand items. One burger, onion rings, and a fountain drink was $23. Not a great value, in my opinion. We came here on a Saturday at 2 in the afternoon. Parking was pretty full. Bathrooms were clean. There was only 2 people in line when we arrived but it started to pick up quickly. The decor was fun, vintage and unique. I was not pleased by the wait. We were warned but we did not imagine it would take 45 mins for 2 burgers, shake, fries and onion rings. It was quite frustrating to see only one staff member flipping burgers, 2 at the end to top them off and 2 crew getting to go boxes prepped. The kitchen moves like literal snails. There is clearly no training on kitchen efficiency. It was a nightmare. The shake was premade as I saw them retrieve it from the fridge. The food itself was okay. Onion rings were the best. Man, this place is great. It has so much character and personality you have to check it out. I love the setup and the feel of it. There isn't a ton of seating so if it gets busy you might have a difficult time finding a seat. But it's counter serve so it's not like people are lingering. The food was great. This place has been on my list for years, and I finally made it! Based on photos, this isn't what I expected. I was expecting a Fred G Sanford establishment. Someone in greasy overalls and transmission service out back. But this place was borderline upscale and reminded me of a burger place you would expect to find on City Walk in Hollywood. It was very clean and modern in a pop culture way. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were also affordable and the portion of fries was plenty for two! I got two knocks for this place and although not life changing, areas they certainly can improve. #1 was the restroom. Again, Ultra clean, but no hot water. When I wash my hands, I like hot water and if you water ain't hot, you ain't fighting germs that can be transferred to customers. #2, the soda selection. When you talk nostalgia and pop culture I think about being a kid and when I was a kid, places had orange, grape and strawberry on tap. I think they had those flavors in bottles, but most people use the fountain and the selection was not impressive. I don't know what happened to the Freestyle machine, but if there was ever a place that needed one. This was it. Decent burger and better than most fast food, but there is room for improvement. These are good hamburgers and, yes, a bit sloppy at times but have what you want on them. Fries are plentiful but almost always dark, almost burned. I just pick out the lighter ones so not very cost effective for me. Milk shakes are yummy; they used to have a pumpkin spice shake in the fall that I went out of my way to go there to buy. We have loved Nutty's for years and clearly something has changed. I was charged $12 to add a patty to my grilled cheese. Ridiculous! The onion rings were too oily to enjoy. Not one table was cleaned but a woman was overly cleaning trays that were not necessary?? Several empty napkin containers- almost every ketchup container was nearly empty. Overheard several wrong orders ahead of us offering "free onion rings" for the mistakes. The milkshakes went from a 16 oz to a 12oz and the price is still the same. They claim that their burgers are handmade!! Clearly not the ones I received!! That is a complete and utter lie!! I ordered a Two-Barell cheeseburger & a kids cheeseburger and they were uniformly round just like a frozen pattie. Thin like a school cafeteria hamburger with zero flavor! French fries & onion rings tasted like old oil. I called the restaurant & asked to speak with a manager and was told he was too busy, so I called back 10 minutes before closing. I spoke with a guy named David who claimed to be the manager AND owner and I'm appalled with his unprofessionalism. I asked what his last name was and he declined to answer. Then asked me if I was the one who wrote a Google review today & I said "yes." When I asked if he stands behind his products with 100% customer satisfaction he said yes. However, when I asked for a refund, he refused and told me to just come back and order from them again. I repeatedly told him that I was not coming back to the restaurant to eat because it was not good & the cheeseburgers I ordered were NOT handmade like it claims on the website. So David, the supposedly owner, hung up on me! What kind of business owner does that? The line was a bit long and the wait time was a bit long, but the people were very friendly and the food was well worth the wait! I had the dual quad burger and my wife had the double barrel burger we split an order of onion rings and my wife had a strawberry milkshake! The food was delicious and well worth the price! Every time I come here it's so good!! But not too often since I did not realize how much the prices went up but still good considering the portions are still big!! The burgers can be shared or not depending how hungry you are because the burgers are big and the onion rings and fries are also big!! And make sure to get their house sauce for them!! I always get the big block burger and so good every time, very flavorful!! Once of my go to places for burgers!! And the milkshakes are so good and creamy!!
