And it might be more on us but it was flavor heavy, bordering salty, but we understood that maybe we over ordered. Before his pho made it to our table we had the lechon, thinking it was small enough appetizer - - but we were wrong. Which I appreciate because this place, you get a bang for your buck! Where I felt let down was the banh mi, crackling pork, because there was nothing crackling about the pork. It tasted old and stale. The rescuing detail was their calamansi sparkling drink! It is refreshing! Just sweet enough, especially to offset the savory heavy food. The vibe is very casual - and I do wish to come back at dinner when hopefully the food has a bit more fresh taste. I do see myself coming back to try some of their other curious bites and more specifically for that sparkling drink.

I got: - bibimbap bowl: the egg is cooked so well, egg white is cooked thoroughly and egg yolk is still runny; the beef is thoroughly marinated and the veggies are crunchy Service is efficient and polite, and you get a buzzer to tell you when your food is ready. The food comes out pretty fast. The overall shared dining area is regularly kept clean inside Great Mall, there is great lighting and high ceilings, and there is plenty of parking in front of the food court entrance. I don't love the restrooms here -- it's hard to get the automatic sink faucets to stay on, and they give a tiny spurt of water on and off while you try to maneuver your hands around. The caulking in the sinks also clearly have a bunch of mold behind/in them, which is gross. Unfortunately other Great Mall bathrooms seem to be in the same condition. If you don't have to use the restroom, this is a great lunch spot!

Our menu included Soy Sauce Chicken, Spicy Pork, Japchae Noodle, Pan Fried Cubed Tofu, Shredded Cabbage and Carrot, Kimchi with shrimp, and fresh fruits. At first I thought the Soy Sauce Chicken was like the Chinese kind of cut-up chicken with skin and bones, but it's actually smaller pieces of chicken meat in soy sauce flavor. Kinda dry for me. The Spicy Pork is hella spicy! And when it's spicy, you can't taste any other flavors. Japchae Noodle was just plain mung bean noodle with soy sauce, no other ingredients. It's salty and the more you eat the saltier it gets. This is usually my go to dish but now I'm disappointed. Shredded Cabbage and Carrot is very light in flavor, just boiled chopped veg. It's useful to mix them with the over-seasoned meat. The cubed tofu is ok, probably my least complained dish. In general, it's a very simple lunch with little to highlight.

10/10, this place is definitely a hidden gem in Fremont!…read more We only went because we were looking for a good, formal-ish Thai restaurant, and when we came across this place, the space definitely gave us that vibe. But don't be fooled by the aesthetics, the food is actually REALLY good. You'll see a lot of appetizers on the menu, so you should be good with ordering just 1 to 2 per person. The portions are pretty big, even when they say an item serves 1 to 2 people. So definitely keep that in mind when ordering because you might end up with way more food than expected! Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Since it was my second time here (my first visit left the food tasting way too salty), I was hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, it was pretty inconsistent all around. We ordered a generous spread for the table: Garlic bread, basket, 2 appetizers, Wings, Noodle soup, Papaya salad, Pad Thai, Pineapple fried rice The Food: It truly felt like a coin toss--about half the dishes were decent, while the other half were completely mid. The Pad Thai was a particular letdown, as the noodles were noticeably overcooked. We also tried the basil lime wings, but they really just tasted like plain salt and pepper wings with a few basil leaves tossed on top as a garnish. To top off the strange pacing, the "must-have" garlic bread basket actually came out dead last instead of as a starter. The service felt a bit awkward. At one point, a staff member came by to check on us while still visibly chewing food in her mouth. Overall, between the uneven food quality, the odd timing, and the service hiccup, it just felt a bit cluttered and disorganized. Given that this was my second strike with the food consistency, I likely won't be rushing back.

I also really liked the mint beef soup. It tasted like a Chinese take on pho. The spicy garlicky sauce it came with was super yummy too. The pork meatball sour clay pot's meatballs had a perfect supple texture and the sour broth was great with rice. The Dai-style mushrooms were good but not as good as the rest of the dishes. Total was about $115 for four dishes and two bowls of rice. My table of three had enough leftovers for dinner.

After weeks of trying to get eat here ( they are closed on Sunday evenings which used to be the…read moreonly time we could normally find to be there.) we finally made it on a weekday evening. Ambience is average to slightly modern but well lit decor. Being a weekday night, I think they weren't expecting too many people but at the time we went they had a 12 person party just seated. This made overall service extremely slow. I understand stuff happens but it would have been nice if we had been told upon being seated that service would be a bit slow due to being understaffed. Beyond just slow service the tables were sticky (my wife used the hand sanitizer on the table and a paper tissue to clean the table) and we had to ask for water twice. All that said, the owner apologised profusely when I went to the counter to pay, so there was some redemption. And now the food: We couldn't order everything we were hoping to try given the long wait time, but here's my rating for what we did order: Malaysian Noodle Soup (3/5): when it arrived it was barely lukewarm, so it loses a star. I was thinking soup will be served piping hot. The taste however pretty good. There's a kick to the broth but a good balanced broth on the whole with hint of coconut and light noodles (I don't like a soup where all you can see is noodle), which worked well for me. The only other thing was whosoever was adding the lettuce did a terribly lazy job - massive piece of lettuce sitting at the bottom. Banh Mi sandwich (3/5) - I'm a sucker for Banh Mi. For those who follow me, you will have heard me mention Bi Cycle Banh Mi more than once and that is the standard by which I judge all Banh Mis. While this Banh Mi didn't get close to Bicycle's, it wasn't bad on the whole. My only feedback would be add fewer jalapeños as they completely overpowered the subtle tastes of the sauces. Pad Thai (3/5): pad Thai looked as it was supposed to but it was missing one of the veggies as described in the menu. Taste was a bit bland but a dash of lemon fixed it. Khow Suey (3.5/5) - my wife gives this a score of 3.5, which says a lot. Good amount of veggies but wished the broth was a bit thicker. But she liked the spice levels and felt it hit her palette just right. Overall, I'd like to come back when it's a little less crowded so we can truly get a taste of the variety thats offered. Let's see what the future holds...

The staff were SO nice and offered to set up a table for us in their back room. They were so kind and accomodating, which we were grateful for because we were starving and the food looked delicious! We ordered a tea leaf salad, Burmese shrimp and beef, and the Nan Gyi Thoke noodles. The food arrived soon after ordering and we were treated to a proper Burmese feast! I loved the crunchy textures of the tea leaf salad, and the shrimp and beef were deliciously spicy. The noodles were also great - the boiled egg was cooked perfectly. The portion size was generous - this was plenty of food for four people! Most imporantly, service was outstanding! Thank you for making our group feel welcomed on an insanely busy evening. :)

Our party of three ordered mainly apps, and only deviated off that section to try their tea leaf salad :P Fried tofu - crisp and light Coconut chicken with palatha - sweeter curry, loved the flakiness and thicc-ness of the paratha Lamb curry with palatha - hearty curry sauce Salt and pepper chicken - dino nugget-esque with a nice crunch and perfect seasoning and didn't actually need the dipping sauce it comes with. Note: the dipping sauce does contain fish Chicken lettuce cups - fine taste, no notes Veg samosas - fine also, basic Tea leaf salad - ordered for the health and textural crunch.
