Was not good pancakes were soggy and hash browns we bad and looked dead but people that work there are nice

I came to this place after my work... I seated up and ... forgotten... waitresses kept walking back and forth, new comers were served... and I just sat and waited... waitresses were standing in the corner and having coffee and talking... and I was just sitting and waiting right in front of them ... and servers kept walking by me...I started doze off when one of the waiters came up to... may be because saw me falling asleep...Actually this happened before too... so I don't understand ... is it the culture of this place or something wrong with me or my appearance? The manager said " let me see why this happened and just never came back..." You see this is why this place is going down... years ago we ( 6 of my friends) used to come here 4 days a week but after very bad service we stopped... I thought I check it out if it was getting better but looks like only worst... very sad, used to be really busy good place and welcoming like a home... no more. read more

IHOP was not good to me this visit and it's been several years since I have been to one. I don't think I will end up back again. My husband and I were debating back and forth on what we wanted for dinner. He decided on here for a change. Upon entering we saw ton of older couples and I realized this will be my destiny in the future. Early bird dinner with my significant other before bed. Haha Not knowing what i wanted to order, I explored the menu for inspiration. I found an egg speciality dish that sounded yummy and right up my alley. I ordered the turkey avocado bennie: Two slices of our brioche, grilled and topped with moist roasted turkey, fluffy scrambled eggs, sliced tomato, creamy White Cheddar cheese sauce & fresh avocado. I immediately ordered without the cheese to save my poor stomach. The food came out warm but not hot. The bread tasted like cardboard with no flavor. The turkey was dry like the desert and lacked all flavor. My disappointment improved with a few bites off of my husband's meal. My husband ordered the chorizo fiesta omelette with a side stack of pancakes. The omelette was a much better choice and I should of went with that. The pancakes were overly rich but anyone who loves cinnamon buns would have loved. The service here was only okay. read more

Went here for Mother's Day. We didn't know this location existed since we don't live close to it. There was about a 20 minute wait, which was fine. Our server was very nice and attentive and the food came fairly quickly. The food was typical of what you get at any IHOP. Before we left, my son went to the bathroom and came back complaining that someone had left their business in the toilet. Disgusting! I guess people can't help but take their nasty habits with them in public establishments. If we were on that side of town we would stop in again. read more

Whenever I have a craving for breakfast food IHOP never disappoints. I love how you can order breakfast all day long. I enjoy ordering from their breakfast combo because you get a selection of items. I usually get the ham and eggs combo with hash browns. The hash browns are crispy on top and soft in the center and the ham is not salty. If I get pancake though I always use their butter pecan syrup! Service is a hit or miss here and although they have a large parking lot it can get full fairly quickly. Avoid this location on the weekends. read more

This is probably without a doubt one of the best food option that Fairfax has to offer. I'm not going to lie I'm here pretty often with my friends as the service is awesome and the prices are fair to keep us good for our walks after. I know your asking it's just a IHOP... WRONG this is the best IHOP I ever been to in my entire life. I'm not going to lie back in the 90s I didn't like IHOP as I went to crappy locations in Falls Church/Arlington that served bad food and bad service the OPPOSITE is here! They do an amazing job with professionalism and with good quality food. I won't sit here and tell you it's perfect but it is the best IHOP in the NOVA area. The owner of this location actually CARES about keeping this location in tip top shape... unlike the other locations I been to in the area this is notably the cleanest. I really like how you feel like your getting treated like family here. I never feel rushed to leave by the servers and it's nice how they keep the free refills coming. Food wise this is the best IHOP I ever eaten at. They also are very accommodating and do substitutions, so if you can't eat something they will be happy to replace it. Everything is good but the best thing of course is their pancakes and hash browns are tasty. The red velvet pancakes are unique to say the least but I love them. I had just had surgury and was very hungry. We decided to go to IHOP the host approached us and I said I wanted to be close as I was going into the bathroom right than and I wanted to be able to easily see where my husband was seated. When I came out of the bathroom my husband said we are leaving. The host had started to seat him when another person came up and said I will seat him. He took him to the back of the resturant to a table when my husband said that we wanted a booth and there were plenty of booths opened upfront. Then the person replied only to my husband in Spanish when he had just used English when he spoke to the host. Needless to say my husband was not happy with the way he was being treated. We ended up going to FirstWatch in Fairfax we had to wait for but it was well worth the wait. Not going back to this IHOP on Blake Lane Fairfax. read more

IHOP is not my favorite place to eat, but my fiancé loves it so we stop for a bite there occasionally. I cannot complain when the restaurant is packed and we get seated within two minutes, receive quick service, accurate orders, and refills on our drinks without prompting. Our server Paola provided superior and efficient service. We chowed down on a bacon temptation omelette with French toast on the side (this is an up-charge in comparison to pancakes, which would have been included in the price) and a spicy poblano omelette (substitute beef with bacon) topped with avocado and a side of hash browns. The meal was enough to keep me full through breakfast and lunch! My fiancé called it "the three pound omelette." Delicious. If it were up to me, we'd have a terrible experience and we'd never have to go to IHOP again, but as I said before-- you can't complain when they get everything right. read more

On Sunday, April 23rd, I ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich for lunch. There was a sausage link inside my French fries which were soggy and unseasoned. One of the chicken tenders in my sandwich was raw! I didn't realize until I ate it. Anyways, I got sick from eating this sandwich which gave me food poisoning. This location is always PACKED, but we got right in because of the waits were for large parties. The service was excellent, and the coffee was hot, delicious and kept on coming. The rotating special menu is always a delight at IHOP, and this visit was no exception. Of course standard menu options such as the smokehouse combo always please. IHOP, despite being a chain and not having that homey atmosphere of diners such as Amphora, The Virginian or even Bob Evans, always has great food and has really made strides to include healthful options on the menu lately. You can now get turkey bacon or sausage, spinachy breakfast dishes and more. They always poach my eggs just right, which a lot of places struggle with. The only downside is that IHOP has hash browns instead of home fries (or as I call them, fried taters), and there was a long line just to pay when we left. I've had really really good and really really bad IHOP experiences. The service and cooking abilities at this chain are definitely not consistent, but the Fairfax location gets it right! read more

This place does not seem to have proper cleaning and sanitation practices in place. Outside patio smelled of pee (even our 5 year old asked "why does it smell so bad?"); the wasps were constantly attracted to the tables and the baby's high chair, which meant they were wiped with dirty cloths; three of the four silverware sets were dirty; and all of us walked away with 10+ mosquito bites from only being there for less than 40 min. The food came out fast, but it was only so-so; I remember other IHOP locations tasting much better. On top of that, another customer brought out his ten year old kid out to the patio to throw up, which really topped off our unappetizing experience. While I get it that things like that happen, in this day and age of communicable deseases there should have been staff directing them to a bathroom instead and cleaning/sanitizing the stuff afterwards. 5 star customer service at iHOP last week! I called in around 4PM needing a large 13 person order for pick up the following morning at 7AM. Diego took my order & was very helpful - promised me it'd be ready to go the next morning. I arrived at 7AM, and my order was completely packed up, warm and ready to go. Junior was so helpful, thorough and didn't miss a detail. My chaotic morning ran so much smoother thanks to Diego and Junior - I'll be doing more breakfast meeting pick ups from iHOP in the future - my clients were thrilled! read more

My mom and my sister were visiting from out of the country and craving food that they normally don't get back at home so we came here on a Thursday morning to enjoy breakfast. Our server was great and food came out promptly and as we were finishing our meals, my mother noticed a long black hair in her meal. We called the server over and he offered his apologies and called the shift supervisor over who was extremely rude. She looked at the hair and said that she didn't have anyone who worked here who had hair that long or that black. She took the plate and we finished the rest of our food and asked the server for the check at which time the supervisor came over again. She told us that she looked in the kitchen and didn't have anyone that had hair that long or that black currently working. She never offered an apology but at the end she rudely told us that she comped the meal. On Sunday, November 20, 2022, my friends and I had our stomach's ravaged by the so-called "International House of Pancakes". Jokingly, I tried to get one of my friends, M.M., to order the Southwest Chicken Burrito. Prior to the challenge, S.C., did some extensive research on the treacherous burritos they sell at this pancake shop. Upon finding the one and only review online, my friends and I were shocked by the discovery. "Never order a burrito from IHOP" is what was read on reddit. Because of this, I felt inspired, motivated, and encouraged to get Michael to face the challenge. My devious plan backfired and it forced myself to order the monstrosity. When it was time to order, I decided to get a second opinion from our waiter on the taste and contents of the burrito. This is where our beef began. Slyly, he responded, "Yes it's good" and it led me to believe he was lying and plotting against my bowels. My friends convinced me to hear him out and give the burrito a chance. This was a grave mistake. Hearing the outlandish and unspeakable things that my friends were saying the waiter was going to do to my food and drink, I was beyond nervous to see, and taste, the final product. Finally, doomsday arrived. The burrito was dropped at the table and it was the most unappealing thing a human can consume. To add to the bowel damage, the burrito was accompanied by a stack of two pancakes, yes two pancakes. Not one man on this earth has sat and thought, "Pancakes would be a great side dish to a burrito!" Then, the moment came, the first bite. Last weekend I punched the wall at Wilsons Hardware in Arlington, yet somehow ordering this burrito was the worst decision I've made all month. On a good day, this burrito was a soft four out of ten and I'm sure eating from the dining hall would've satisfied me more. The waiter then had the audacity to come and ask how the burrito was knowing full well it was trash wrapped in a tortilla. As a man who paid good money for this disaster, I forced myself to finish the entire thing. Another poor decision. The bowel damage is irreversible and now I have to sit and suffer knowing the loss of $15 was not worth it. In the end, I've learned two valuable lessons. The first being that nobody, and I mean nobody, should ever order a burrito from IHOP. Doing this is a fine form of self-hate and a first class ticket to therapy. The second lesson I learned is that pancakes do not pair well with burritos. I may sound like a bad combination and that's because it is. I hope whoever finds and reads this truly takes this review into consideration the next time they want to order from IHOP. My strong suggestion is that they shouldn't even go in the first place, First Watch should be their main choice. Thank you for your time, and God Bless those who won't listen. read more
