I'm not sure we will ever comeback to Dennis. As a franchise it is already an uphill battle to get me there but hubby had a birthday coupon and we used to enjoy their grand slams... used to... as in past tense. The smaller portions and soggy saggy hashbrowns along w the lack of service and the overall run down look and feel of this restaurant (cobwebs on the light fixtures level) makes it so we won't come back. It's a good amount of food for what you get. Quick standard service. Biscuits and gravy were rather tasteless. Good toast and eggs with a plentiful amount of hash. The hash was rather salty, but it mixed well with the plain toast. Good medium rare steak for a diner. The ultimate omelette is one of the better items you can get on the menu with lots of filling meat and veggies. Also came with the hash brown which went well with the (less salty) omelette. After trying the Dennys in Las Vegas, i NEVER thought I'd be writing a good review for ANY Denny's. I live down the street from IHOP and won't go near those places - the IHOPs anywhere NEAR here are disgusting and don't deserve to be in business. But this Denny's is great. The food is good and looks just like the menu photos (sometimes takes a while but not too bad). AND, coming from Las Vegas, I can tell you that the customer service wins you over every time. It's not usually my go to, but after stopping at a nearby restaurant that DOES NOT allow you to order simple plates of food; but requires seated guests to order their Sunday brunch at $34.95/person.....Denny's was a no-brainer! I like ordering a side of extra crispy hash browns. The kids like the children's menu and the all you can drink hot chocolate with whip cream. It's a great value and their pancakes are not bad. Service at this location is good, the waiters can take your order without even writing it down. Their house coffee can be improved, it's your typical diner quality. We go to the Fairfax Denny's every week and have been doing so for at least 5 years now , perhaps longer. I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal at this location. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Ijaz is awesome, he automatically knows what I want and he's efficient, kind and very serves us very quickly. I went to try their Beetlejuice menu and it did not disappoint. Their beetlejuicy burger has three patties of meat with cheese and other burger toppings. It was cooked to perfection and it was very juicy and flavourful. The fries were delicious too. Their booths are comfortable and the service was good! They have robots that will bring your food and drinks out at times so that's fun. Their menu has a lot of options from breakfast to even dinner items . My first time ever at Denny's was a good experience. Overall, when going to chain breakfast restaurants, I'm not expecting a 5-star meal. This meal was cheap and came with a lot of food. The service was really great and the coffee refilled kept coming. The waiter even offered me the option to take home a coffee which was nice. They even had a robot to bring your food and drinks which was fun to watch. I ordered an omelette with steak in it and my only complaint was the steak tasted very processed - almost like those frozen pre cooked steak strips you get from the grocery store. Prices are reasonable, and portions are decent enough. This location is quite clean, and the seats are adequate for us tall folks. I like the breakfasts. Grand Slams with their strong coffee works. 11/28/21 Our server's name is Mary. The place is Denny's in Fairfax. The time is right now...16:54. The place is pretty empty, but service seems to be going slow nevertheless. We were told by Nana(spelling?) Pick a seat. Mary ended up being our server, but she did not understand everything thing we were saying. I am not sure what her native tongue is, but she was trying and I appreciate her attempts to speak English. I was in the mood for blueberry pancakes with crispy turkey bacon. Since I hate eating eggs, I substituted them with avocados and red potatoes instead of hashbrowns. The avocados were delicious. Everything else was delicious. The food is normally outstanding; as well, as the service. Today only the food was sensational. To many times Mary our server did not check on us. The place was dead, she ignored us. This really came I to effect when we were waiting for our check. She was nowhere to be found. In the end we had to get Nana's attention. I am not sure if the entire staff have been replaced in the morning, but my wife noticed the entire staff were from India. It explains why I mistook two ladies for Hispanic. Still, Mary maybe new, but she needs to work on her customer service if she wants to get tips. Oh, and on one other note, my wife entered the restaurant first while I was at my car.
