Between Hangry Joes, Dave's, and Roaming Roosters, the chicken breasts and slaw from Roaming Roosters takes the W! The chicken here is spot on, and you may not get the levels of heats at Dave, but the chicken you bite into is so juicy. The fries here are excellent too, very comparable to five guys. And if you have the space for calories in your daily calorie counter, get the shakes, especially the Oreo shake!

Got the OG and it was as expected. Service was fast, and atmosphere was chill. Bossman got tenders and the mild was a bit hot. Medium which I got had me sweating a bit so be forewarned!

Starting on a positive Roaming Roosters makes one of my favorite chicken sandwiches, but sadly every time I order from the Tyson's location I am disappointed. I always order the honey butter sandwich with no heat. The spice is usually intense (for someone who doesn't like spicy), my husband always gets mild heat and they taste almost the same. The real issue I am having is the sandwich is completely dry. No honey butter, no sauce, nothing EVERY SINGLE TIME. If I wanted a plan boring sandwich I would go to any other shop and actually get what I am ordering. I love this business and their food, but this location puts a bad name on their amazing sandwiches. I will make the extra drive to the Burke location, everything about that location is so much better. From location, to service and most importantly THE FOOD QUALITY! As I eat my sandwich that I was so looking forward to, it's just so dry. Typically the wrapping around the sandwich is full of juice and yummy flavor. Everytime from the Tyson's location it is completely dry just like the sandwich. So disappointing

Way back in 2015, Roaming Rooster launched as DC area Food Truck...and quickly escalated to one of the busiest and most popular wherever it would ve on a given day. One truck led to two and so on and so on. I was happy to be one of their first customers and reviewers ( https://www.yelp.com/biz/roaming-rooster-washington-3?hrid=8hY-z7DY0dOi2LjTeqy5ZA&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) ), and am more than happy at their success as they have expanded to multiple brick and mortar locations. Today I visited one of their more recent locations...the Tysons VA location. While I'm sad that it displaced one of my favorite Burger spots, I'm elated to get a taste of the Rooster's Honey Butter goodness again! So what exactly is a Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich? Well, by default, it comes with two plump, seasoned and battered fried fillets - not one slim fillet like most chicken sandwiches. Always made to perfection with a balance of juiciness and crispiness, then comes a slice of sharp cheddar that really compliments the chicken. Laid out on a soft bun, the last step is a slathering of honey butter love. In today's case, I added thick-cut bacon to give the sandwich some extra protein and salty goodness. Now, by its nature, Honey Butter melts...so makes for a messy sandwich. But, you may have a better, less sticky experience if you ask for the honey butter on the side and use as a dipping sauce. I actually recommend that for those who are trying for the first time. If you also get a side of sriracha mayo, you can have the goodness of two sandwiches in one! To accompany my sandwich, it's hard to not recommend the highly addictive twice-fried fries. So good! Now, many rave about the Nashville Hot Sandwich, but despite the temptation to try, thus far I've stuck with my standard staple of the HB Chicken Sandwich. Maybe one day I'll get that Nashville groove, but not today! Locations are all around the DMV, but definitely give it a try if you enjoy great chicken sandwiches and are looking for something different. You won't regret it

I've had so many fried chicken burgers in my life and Roaming Rooster is the best crafted one! This was my third time having it, I took my husband for the first time and he agreed! When my parents went to Virginia recently, they brought some back for me. I deconstructed it to warm up the chicken in the air fryer and didn't realize how much meat they give! It's so much! :D I am a huge fan of the Honey Butter! It's a great balance of the heat and a touch of sweetness. They have this mustard sauce that's impeccable. Fries are on point! The chain stays consistent and never disappoints! Glad it's zabiha as well!

Service was accommodating and efficient, despite how busy it got We ordered OG Nashville and The Club sandwiches. Pretty decent sandwiches! I think the size is pretty filling I would recommend this place if you haven't done so already.

I've been hearing so much hype about Roaming Rooster that it was about time I check them out! I've only ever had Wooboi hot chicken sandwiches. Their sandwiches kind of remind me of the Popeyes sandwiches, very big and crispy, but I do have to say, if you have really good spice tolerance, definitely go for the Hot or Extra Hot Spice levels. Medium at Wooboi was my limit, but the Medium at Roaming Rooster wasn't spicy to me at all! The fries were very similar to the Five Guys style fries, cajun seasone. I have my rating as is because I just didn't feel satisfied with my sandwich compared to when I'm at Wooboi... and was disappointed in the spice levels.

Just like most of the people here, I didn't have a great experience. Heard so many good things about their other location and I just never had the chance to head out there so I was glad they came closer. Highly disappointed. We came right when they opened so I thought the food would be good and fresh! Boy I was wrong. I am a huge huge fan of Wooboi and compare everything to them. At least this location has absolutely nothing on Wooboi or even Popeyes. The chicken didn't have any flavor, what happened to a little salt and pepper? The ranch really made it flavorful but that's it. Even the kids didn't eat their tenders and I knew there was an issue from that since it's their favorite. Is it supposed to be crispy at least? It was just flattened chicken. No crispy, no flavor, no anything. A wasted cheat meal. Also the chicken in the sandwich was basically 3 flattened tenders. Unlike the Wooboi or even Hot Lola's that give you a big, meaty, crispy piece of chicken. Fries at least were decent but nothing special. Soo disappointed but I think it was worse that people hyped up how good this place is and it turned out to be tasteless. I prob will not be back seeing how a sandwich is $10 and it doesn't even come with fries. I hope they figure out their kinks aka how to season a piece of chicken. This is what I get for cheating on Wooboi!

Before going grocery shopping, stopped by to get some lunch! The boyf got og Nashville with extra hot, and I got the club medium spicy. It didn't take long for the food and the first bite was sooooo spicy!!! My boyf tried my sandwich and couldn't tell the difference between our spicyness so I'm wondering if they gave me extra hours heat level too i can handle spicy really well. if it was medium spicy then that is soooo spicy! I'll have to get mild next time.

Man, we came here after a HH with some friends and hit up roaming rooster. This place was great, I got the butter chicken sandwich (HOT level) and it was so juicy. It wasn't packed at all which is great so we got our food quick. The chicken sandwich was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. I got some fries and they were crispy to perfection. I know they have other locations too so I will definitely come back

Very disappointing and dry chicken sandwich. I got the medium and it really lacks flavor. I've had Nashville hot chicken all over Nashville and it's normally amazing. This sandwich does not compare. You also get no sides with the sandwich and it's really pricey at $10 for a grab and go sandwich. I also got approached inside by someone with a sign begging for my money and then her husband was outside also asking me for money. Not sure I'd try this place again.

    Buffalo chicken sandwich

Heard about this franchise from friends who go to the DC location and decided to give it a try for lunch yesterday. Order: 1buffalo chicken sandwich 6 regular nuggets with ranch Large lemonade Total with 15% tip was around $20. Yes, it's a little pricey but I'm glad I didn't let that deter me. I had no idea the sandwich was going to come with 2 chicken fried chicken filets. I was pleasantly surprised. Each filet was well seasoned and fried just right. The Buffalo sauce had great flavor and a nice kick with out the spice being overwhelming. I believe I got the mild since this was my first time giving them a try . The nuggets were made with real chicken, seasoned and fried. Tasty Lemonade was refreshing and did not taste like it was made from a powder (thankfully). The only negative part about our experience was that both bathrooms were out of order. There was very little interaction with staff since we used the kiosk to place our order. The slight interaction we did have was pleasant. I'll definitely be back to try the other options!

The Honey Butter medium heat with coleslaw always hit the spot.

It's not the easiest place to find if you're not familiar with the mall. I had to park in the garage and then call the restaurant to see where they were located. The person I spoke with was delightful. The only thing he didn't mention was it was outside the doors once you got to Starbucks. By the time I arrived, my order had been sitting for a good 40 minutes. Luckily, my milk shake hasn't been made but the food was cold. I immediately requested to speak with the manager. He was on his break unfortunately and no one else could handle my request. I waited for an additional 15 minutes for him to return. I asked if I could have my order remade. He did so without any question which I greatly appreciate. Now that location was very busy. Almost all the tables were full and more people were coming in by the minute. With that said, the restaurant was a mess and some of the workers clearly didn't want to be there from what I saw. I ordered a single bacon cheeseburger, onion rings and a vanilla shake. The bacon was undercooked and the burger was questionable. I threw it in the trash after one bite. The onion rings were decent and milkshake was pretty good. I expected better for $25. I would not recommend or come back here. Honestly, if I knew I would end up at the mall I would have just went to coastal flats.

Their proteins and fries are perfect, their salad is cold and crisp, and the execution of their rice is consistently the benchmark. First off though: the lighting is really harsh. It's Temu hexagonal 10000K bright white led honeycombs from blaze hell. The walls are primer black, and there are no paper towels in the bathrooms. Solution: I almost always get my food to-go. I flip flop between the Falafel Platter and the Mixed (Chicken + Lamb Gyro) Platter with the following no-charge mod: NO fries, MORE salad. This leaves the rice alone - you will get rice - and it is a very long grain, saffroned, Basmati rice that is distinctively al dente. Not fluffy or clumpy - they are highly separated and firm rice grains, and I absolutely love it this way. This rice blows the competition far and away. If you like fries, they are good - they're the double-fried "Burger King" style and keep their heat decently well in the to-go clamshell. The sauces are quite special. I like them all. I always ask for the following on-the-side (no zig-zags for me): the white (tahini-like), the green (cilantro), the red (spicy), the orange (signature Blazin spice). There are a couple of others, but I find these 4 create a nice balance. Oh and the late-night hours secure the 5-star rating. This can feel like the perfect late-night food - thanks to the owners for accommodating the late-night fans. Quickie review notes: The burger is just okay - the patty should be bigger. The Chopped Cheese is convincing, but not the best value item, IMO. The milkshakes are very tasty!
