Roaming Rooster has quickly become one of my favorite treats. I love the honey butter sandwich. I love the honey butter on it, and the soft bread. I usually take out one piece of chicken though as it comes with three, and I couldn't possibly eat all of that. I really wish they would make a kids chicken sandwich that only has one or two chicken pieces on it. For the sauce that you can choose to come with it, I highly recommend the honey mustard. I love to eat this mustard on my sandwich as well as my fries. The fries are big enough for two people but the cashier may still try to sell you two. This is unnecessary unless you eat large portions. I will say the spice levels are hit or miss. I once had medium and it was no problem, but the next time I couldn't handle it. And again, I wish they had smaller portions as well at a lower price. Still, this is a good chicken sandwich and I recommend it. read more

I was underwhelmed and disappointed by my experience at the Tysons location. I'd previously had takeout from one of the DC locations but since it was delivered, it had to be reheated and I figured it would taste better fresh and in-person. I have to say that my DC delivery experience is better than this time at Tysons. I was only offered mild through hot and asked if there was an option to not have spice (this is what I ordered at the other location) and was told that was not an option. I later double checked the website and saw that was indeed an option. I can tolerate spice but much prefer without, so I did not very much enjoy the mild spice sandwich. I also bought the honey butter sandwich which Roaming Rooster is well-known for, but my sandwich barely had any honey butter on it. It was dry and severely lacking in flavor. When I previously ordered from DC, the sandwich was incredibly messy (and I didn't mind) because it was covered in gooey delicious honey butter. This one was lacking so much that I wondered if I may have gotten the wrong order. The Tysons location is much more convenient for me but next time I will go out of my way to visit the DC locations. Or just go to Queen Mother's for the best fried chicken in the DMV. read more

Delicious chicken sandwich but I'm not sure their price point of $10 after tax is worth it considering the sandwich is not particularly large and a side and drink will run your total up to almost $20 for one person. Completely wrong orders. The front desk was absolutely rude to us, and she believed we wanted a free chicken burger due to our complaints. However, the orders that were prepared for us were completely messed up and caused severe pain in my friend's stomach since he couldn't handle spicy food. His face turned red, and he couldn't speak for a minute or so. He ordered nonspicy, but he got super spicy which caused him to have pain all night. I ordered the Club burger, but they gave me another thing ( I don't know the name because that was my first and last time in there). It was interesting that the front desk was in denial for 5-10 minutes even by showing her our receipts!!!! Ensure to check your order and have a PRINTED receipt prior to eating your burger. Yummy chicken sandwiches! My wife and I have been wanted to try RR for a while now. We both had the OG Nashville (buttermilk fried chicken breast with house made vinaigrette slaw and pickles). The sandwich was good but it could have been hotter temperature wise. The slaw was good but the jalapeños were cut too large and their heat overpowered everything else. They cut and fry their French fries twice, which is the right way to do it! And they were piping hot. They had the best sweet tea I have tasted since leaving Georgia. Seriously, it was perfectly brewed and sweetened! The only problem was that the iced tea was only a little cold. Iced tea needs ice. We will go back once they've been open a little longer. When they get it right, it's delicious and one of my favorite chicken sandwiches. Recommend the honey butter! Two concerns: occasionally, the sandwich is light on the flavor. Without the signature flavor, the sandwich loses its claim to fame and turns into plain chicken in a bun. Secondly, about half the time, I hit a bad piece of meat- a chewy, black part that I have to spit out. Ive had to dig out inedible portions that run through the breast meat multiple times. Please, Roaming Rooster, quality control the meats and cut these portions out- its happened enough that it's not a fluke.
