The Spread

I'll be honest: I don't usually like IHOP. Something about sticky syrup bottles and Pepsi products just feels wrong. Breakfast without Coke? That's like Sunday without coffee--technically possible, but spiritually empty. But this IHOP on Randolph Ave? Different story. The breakfast was spot on--eggs cooked right, pancakes fluffy, bacon crispy, hash browns golden. The kind of food that hits the table warm and makes you forget, for a moment, that you're sitting in a chain diner. This wasn't just edible--it was enjoyable. The service? Shockingly good. Friendly, fast, and actually attentive without hovering. The manager deserves a huge thumbs up for running a tight ship. Plates came out hot, coffee refills flowed, and the vibe was calm instead of chaotic. It felt less like an IHOP, more like a neighborhood spot that actually cares. IHOP didn't just serve breakfast, they served redemption. I don't usually like IHOP, but this location surprised me. Great food, warm service, and a manager who clearly gets it. If all IHOPs ran like this, I might just forgive them for the Pepsi.

55+ menu. Woohoo!!

Who knew IHOP offered a 55+ menu? It's a fantastic option, offering great value for seniors. We were pleasantly surprised by the choices and affordability. We enjoyed the Rise and Shine Breakfast Plate and I enjoyed the incredibly moist and tender Sirloin Steak Breakfast with Pancakes. We were actually there to redeem some coins, which auntie scored us an extra stack of three pancakes for free! The restaurant was clean and has plenty of parking. Our waitress was absolutely superb. She was efficiently managing about ten tables, yet she was on point with every single one. Talk about excellent customer service! We'll definitely be back.

Happy national pancakes day!! (March 4) iHop is good once in a while. This is nice location to go to because it's near a fun mall and has lots of parking. The servers here are kind people and fun to talk to if you wish to talk to them. I enjoyed my free short stack and $7 egg and hashbrow combo. A lil extra tapatio on top and ketchup on the side, then it's a hearty and flavor balanced meal for me.

Kids happy face pancake, Waffle Combo, 2x2x2, and avocado toast. Kids said, "the eggs and bacon were great! Happy face pancake was a little too sweet, but still ate almost all of it. Belgian waffle was toasty on the outside which made it delicious and the sausage wasn't super greasy either." Avocado toast was excellent, but next time I would order it on sourdough. This breakfast was better than expected, and the service was friendly and prompt. Tables were clean and looks like might have been remodeled recently. Overall super happy with our experience.

The wait wasn't long at all. We came 12/23/2025 on a Tuesday and it was almost empty. Which surprised me of the following. It took really long to get our food and when we did get it, most of it was cold. The drinks got significantly smaller! The glasses for orange juice and water were smaller than my hand and yet my Father in Law received a full size soda. There were some side dishes missing that we didn't get until we got the check. The table next to us also mentioned they were missing food and we only saw our waitress 3 times. The staff were nice regardless of how the kitchen handled our food. The place was decorated for the holidays which is always super fun. Won't be coming back though.

Juana was a fantastic server, was detailed when answering questions and was always prompt to check in with us. Great food and great service.

No, it's $7 not $6 here. So why not be upfront?

It's been years since I went to my local iHop. Maybe they got better but last time it wasn't great. I saw a Yelp ad for $6 small breakfast plates so I thought I would try one and maybe two if one wasn't enough. I went in and saw the sign that said small plates were $7. Hmm ok Brea prices I guess. They sat me and asked if I want something to drink. I only drink water at meals so I asked for a water. They said "we only have bottled is that ok?" Nope, I said, and left. See you in two years iHop if you are still around.

Crepes with bacon and scrambled eggs

We came here for breakfast so I could use a gift card that was given to me for here. This was the highest rated IHOP in the area on Yelp. We were seated right away and the service here was quick and friendly. To drink I got an orange juice and to eat I ordered the crepe with berries combo with bacon and scrambled eggs. The food was pretty good, the bacon was my favorite. My crepes were delicious topped with maple syrup, thin and sweet with sliced strawberries. Overall it was a good and filling breakfast.

Restaurant was pretty busy for a Friday morning Service was quick Placed our orders food came out pretty quickly I was very disappointed the "fluffy" pancakes were not fluffy they serve them on a small plate so that the pancakes looked bigger. The fruit was not very sweet on top of it. Again with the eggs, hashbrowns and bacon, they put that on a big plate with very tiny portions The chicken fried steak was OK

I came out to the OC to go to Disneyland and decided to stop by here on the way back home on Thursday January 8th,2026 around 11:30am, I came with a friend, I ordered a turkey burger and onion rings, the staff was super friendly, the place is immaculate! Very clean as soon as someone finished eating they were cleaning the table. I'm so happy I got to come to a place that meant so much to me as a kid and eat and have the same experience I did back then, can't wait to come again next time I'm in town, thank you Brea's best for great food and amazing service!

Rude, wasted my time and no longer convenient which is this places bread and butter because the food isn't great. Very disapointing, chef had us waiting for onion while our food got cold and then didnt even make the pattymelt, just gave us a tray with partially cooked onion. their menu has by default carmelized onion.

I've never actually dined at the restaurant, so we decided to go and give it a try. They are located in the Placentia Town Center right next to CVS, with plenty of parking available. They have a good sized dining area with a mix of tables and booths. They also have a bar area with four big screens against the wall, and a few other TVs throughout the dining area. They also have a small outdoor patio in front of the restaurant. We sat in a comfy booth across from the bar, and it was a nice surprise that they had a college hockey championship game and the Olympics on. They have a good selection of beer taps. I ordered a pint of the Firestone Orange Hefeweizen ($9.50), and my friend had the Stereo Robot Red Ale ($9.50) and were both great. The glasses looked nice with the Craftsman logo on them. They also have a good wine list with some great selections like Belle Glos and Doau. The drink menu also has a nice selection of over a dozen cocktails. They have a big selection of around two dozen signature wood fired pizzas available in 10" or 14" sizes. We decided to keep it simple and share a 14" The Graduate (pepperoni, sausage, ham, red onions, roasted peppers, olives, and mozzarella ($22.75). The pizza came out timely, and is served on a raised stand. The crust had a nice thin to medium thickness and held the toppings well. It had a good amount of toppings and was delicious. This was the perfect size for two people, and we were both stuffed when it was all gone. In addition to a big list of interesting pizzas, they also have a big selection of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Our server Mikayla was very friendly, and checked on us often. The pizza, beer, and service were all great. A very filling pizza and two pints for $45 before tip is a great deal. They have a happy hour weekdays, and drink specials Monday through Thursday. We will definitely return soon.

For some reason the refinery spend their 40 minutes cooking the hell out of my burger, and they could even put the tooth pick in the middle of my burger, like is it that hard to stab my burger in the middle. I honestly don't know how The Refinery inside the Hilton in Brea manages to stay open. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the place looks nice when you walk in, but that's where the positives end. The service was painfully slow -- not the "busy restaurant" kind of slow, but the "did anyone remember we're here?" kind. We waited forever just to get water, and it somehow took even longer for the food. Then the food actually showed up... and wow. Bland, overpriced, and somehow still cold. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. For a restaurant attached to a Hilton, I expected at least basic quality, but this felt like cafeteria food with steakhouse prices. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.
