IHOP - Happiness - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Brea, California

The service at IHOP Brea is outstanding! Here's why; The GM, Charlie loves his employees. Calls them his kids. If you get there early AM, you'll find him sweeping the lot or cleaning windows. He wants the servers to concentrate on the guests experience. He's there to support them. The servers are all friendly and helpful. All of that makes for a pleasant experience for the customers. This is one of those restaurants that you'll become a regular. I start every Saturday off at IHOP Brea. By the way, if you're looking for work, you like people and are willing to work hard with like minded people, go to IHOP Brea. read more

Chill ambiance, great service, delicious pancakes. Come on a Sunday evening around 5 for a relaxing breakfast for dinner experience.

It's an amazing place for single, family or party of several. They have breakfast special and all day for senior. My favorite is omelette with pancake. Service is excellent. Bottomless coffee is good too. Nice and clean. It's always great to be here. read more

Hadn't been to an ihop for awhile. Ate there today and found out that now if you want to substitute turkey bacon for regular bacon they now charge $1.99 extra. If you want egg whites instead of the whole egg, it's $1.29 extra. The menu suggests these substitutions but does not warn you of the extra charges. On the plus side, customer service was excellent. Also, in spite of what the menu says, on the "2.+2+2" breakfast, if you get the 55+ version, you only get ONE egg (menu says 2 eggs). They should call it the 1+2+2! I'm guessing that if you actually ask for 2 eggs, they'll charge another $2+ . read more

If you want to be treated with complete disrespect please come here. Charlie the alleged manager treated both me and my family incredibly terribly, We were seated for 10 minutes when someone asked for our drinks. We asked if we could order and she said no politely but offered to take our drinks. I then proceeded to ask Charlie the manager and he very quickly dismissed me, no apology, and then proceeded to step up to me less than a foot away from my face in an aggressive manner. This is just completely unacceptable. read more

I walked inside to the aroma of what I can only describe as beautiful. I was sat right away and immediately was able to clench my thirst with a scrumptious Strawberry Lemonade Splasher. Shortly after, I was ready to order my food and they were here to conquer this quest. The food was outstanding. Picky eater??? NO PROBLEM, they have everything. If I could come back here every day for the rest of my life, i read more

They dont have curbside pick up i order at the app like that because first i am pregnant couple weeks before delivery second i have a child sleeping in the car, and yeah they cant handle the food read more

My mother and her best friend went to breakfast today, and the food and service were not good. Her friend ordered the omelet, and it came with hash Browns. Her friend asked for potatoes instead, and the waitress told them, not a problem. The waitress did not tell them that there would be an extra five dollar charge for this. So when the bill came, they were shocked at the five dollar charge for potatoes. The waitress did not apologize, and when they asked to speak to the manager, he offered to give them the senior 10% off only. The funny thing is, they are seniors and should have gotten that anyway. When my mother informed them that they were very disappointed with the service and the way they were running their ihop, she told them she would not be back. The waitress then told them, " Good luck on finding a new breakfast place." Not a customer serive oriented ihop. read more

Dining in is good to go. But they are still practicing good measures. There is covered outdoor dining with tables spread out enough and indoor dining too. Food here is always good with friendly serving staff read more

After waiting for 15mins at TOAST without anyone getting our order nor offered water, I def went to IHOP right away, got greeted, seated in less than 30sec and our order was taken within a minute! That is great customer service for you than some fancy $6 latte at Toast nearby. The staff at Ihop is very attentive, friendly and helpful. I would never give my hard earned money again elsewhere! read more

IHOP - Coffee - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Brea, California

Food was better than I remember but I also get what I pay for. Service was friendly but definitely not enough workers to support the amount of people seated. Organization was observably chaotic but it's to be expected when every table is asking for something or someone. The environment of IHOP remains the same with no remodel or revamp. read more

thank you IHOP Brea . yummy food and great service from Sonia :) we have come to this IHOP for years now , always great service and great food . read more

We came with a large group for brunch yesterday. Our waitress Alexa was very warm, friendly, courteous, and patient with us. The food was great, the place was really clean but Alexa and her team made a huge difference, and even the kids loved her. read more

Tried to give this place another try...got stuck with extra charges again. Went for kids eat free. When checking out the server (Alicia) charged for the kids drink, even though it comes with the kids meal. Her explanation was that the drink is only included if you don't use the promotion - that makes no sense. The drink is either included or not with a kids meal, not pick and choose whatever works better for the restaurant. So disappointing again...fool me twice, shame on me. read more

Look, I get that it's IHOP but this place was filthy and gross!! I ordered a coffee, iced tea with no ice, grilled chicken salad, side of fries, and my son got pancakes with bacon and 1 scrambled egg. Coffee pot they put on the table had food stuck to the side and some really gross looking stain on it. Iced tea glass was dirty and had lipstick on the rim. Water had what looked like a booger floating on the surface (some weird snotty looking thing) Took about 30 minutes to get food. Salad came out wrong (fried chicken instead of grilled) lettuce was rotten and soggy, cheese was hard, avocado was brown, and the onions looked like they were sliced 2 weeks ago. Fries were absolute mush and ice cold to the touch. Eggs were crusty and hard from sitting in the window too long, pancakes were also crunchy and my son "broke" one of them in half and they made a small crunching cracking noise when he did it. After the waitress dropped the food and we looked at it, I moved my food to the opposite side of the table because I couldn't even look at it. It looked like it came from a dumpster and was grossing me out!! She came back around a few minutes later and I flagged her down to get the check. Walked up, paid $55, and left without even taking a sip of a beverage or a bite of food. My son wouldn't take a bite of anything either, I swear we just dogged food poisoning! read more

Best I hope I have ever been to. My server was this really nice guy. Service and food were excellent ! Thank you so much

This is the best IHOP in the area. We come over from Diamond Bar because it's even better than Chino's. Staff is always prompt, kind, friendly and courteous. Food is always cooked perfectly. Our family of four loves IHOP and the winning part is the 2 kids eat dinner for free on the weekdays. They actually finish their food, well, we all do, lol. Funny thing is, only the kids like pancakes. My husband and I switch it up on the savory options. But you can find us here a few times a month and it never disappoints. My favorites are the Swedish crepes, sirloin tips and Salisbury steak. My husband always gets the country fried steak and eggs, and once in a while the steak omelet. The kids are happy with the sprinkle pancake or chocolate pancake kids meal. And we usually have to order extra bacon for both of them. Like I said, they never disappoint us here. The food is simple and comforting. We love it. read more

The only reason I give them 2 stars rather than 1 is that our server was very nice. I wanted a vegan breakfast burrito with just hash browns and a lot of veggies in place of egg/cheese/meat. Simple enough. The server convinced me to get the more expensive $16 burrito because it comes with avocado and veggies and so I just got the chicken and eggs on the side so my family could eat those, since it was so expensive. Well.. I got a very tiny burrito filled with nothing but hash browns and a few teeny tiny minced pieces of green bell pepper and onion, you could barely even see any at all. No other veggies, no avocado. I hated asking to remake it but I was paying nearly $20 for it. Second time around, they brought me the exact same burrito but with avocado slices on the side (which are supposed to come in the burrito, per menu description). When I again told the manager that I originally wanted a lot of veggies and hash browns and NOT all hash browns due to all the carbs, he explained that the burrito comes with "2 ounces" of veggies and "4 ounces of fries", yes, the manager kept calling hash browns fries during the whole exchange. And they couldn't give me the other bigger burrito because I had already gotten the eggs and chicken in the side from the smaller one which my family had already eaten long before my food got sorted out. Of course, the only reason I got that burrito was because our server told me I should get that one and not the other one which would have been less expensive. In the end, they never agreed to simply give me more than 2 oz of minced pepper and onion in my burrito, and gave us 20% off the $16 hash browns wrapped in a tortilla "burrito", and 84 cents off a $4 coffee for all of this. Needless to say, I would not recommend this place if you expect to order anything that's not exactly what's on the menu because they get confused and can't seem to figure out how to easily modify foods, speaking as someone who has worked at many restaurants. They should NOT have recommended a $16 burrito, and should have comped the whole burrito after all of that, or even better, could have just added more veggies on it like I had asked at the very beginning. Talk about awful customer service.. read more

What happened to this place? This location was our favorite for many many reasons and not to mention years! Take a look with the amount of check-ins. We came on Sunday 9/18 after not coming for months. The reason being is that the menu kept changing, new staff, portions and prices. I know everything has gone up. But the prices are just ridiculous. 1. I really wanted to enjoy breakfast here but it started off bad. As I previously mentioned I've been coming here for years, on weekends sometimes both Saturday and Sunday! When we got seated a few min went by and we got our drinks. Shortly after Our server, came up and asked if I was "the lady that uses yelp" I said umm yeah why? Mind you I haven't been here in months! So this made me feel uncomfortable and she went on saying, well the computer isn't allowing us to use yelp so I just wanted to let you know. Okay server... who said I was even going to use the yelp? Could you have waited to let us know towards the end when you gave us the check and not make us feel weird as soon as we got there?! Plus I'm sure they can manually enter it, but whatever. In case you didn't know, if you check in, you get $5 off your bill. Let's say there are 7 people in your party, you can use up to 7 phones/yelp check ins. Charlie always reminded us to use it and was the one who said you can use more than one device. 2. The portions, the amount of hash browns on our plate was the size of my 4 year olds palm. Smaller than a spam slice. Hash browns used to fill half of the plate, looks like they are taking portions very seriously. 3. Prices! Everything on the menu is $16+ it's insane how expensive ihop got. They only have 1 menu and everything is over priced and with such small portions your better off going elsewhere. Every item on the kids menu is $10+. We both got waters and only 2 plates from the menu. I shared with my daughter and the bill was $48 Bottom line, we will not be retuning to IHOP, it's sad because this was our favorite spot from before having a family, to being pregnant and bringing our toddler here. You can go to Black Bear Diner (Fullerton) , for bigger portions, coffee, fresh squeezed Orange juice and my daughter can get her own plate from the kids menu that's $5.99 all under $45 and leftover to take home. Another good spot is Flappy Jacks in Orange or Arthur's breakfast in Orange. These 3 places will continue to earn our business read more

Amazing service. Our waitress was great. Age was very friendly. Food was delicious. Very clean.

Service is great. Food is always cold. Ordered egg's medium and came runny. The pancakes were raw in the middle. Our coffee container was dirty on the outside. Our forks had food stuck in the prongs. Our 4th visit since Easter and won't be back sorry to say. Lots of breakfast places around town to eat! read more

Ive come to this Ihop a few times recently, and I must say - its pretty legit. So far, all employees/managers have been friendly and attentive. The food has come out in a timely fashion, and is always tasting great. To top it off, free refills on their juices. From what I have experienced, no other Ihop's in the area offer this (they will usually charge for refills on juice). The restaurant is clean, well lit, and in a very convenient location - considering its close to the mall, banks, gas stations, 57 freeway, etc. While I still have a heart for the Placentia Ihop, this has become a new favorite of mine, specifically for their breakfast plates. read more

If there was a MINUS rating, that's what they would get. I ordered online this morning - simple order - Country breakfast burrito NO CHEESE, pancakes as the side and an extra gravy (which I am charged EXTRA for). When my husband went to pick it up, the "greeter" wouldn't even acknowledge him. She sat 3 parties of people. Then my husband asked if our order was ready. She replied, THEY'RE WORKING ON IT. She then sat another 3 or 4 parties of people. My husband then inquired about our online order again. Our order had been sitting on the table the ENTIRE time. Great customer service right? My husband complained to the manager who has to be the worse excuse for a manager in the world. He told my husband NOT to come back! Can you believe that? Because this ineffective, incompetent manager cannot handle or defend himself or his employees in a confrontation, he takes the easy road by telling a long time customer NOT to come back? REALLY???? We've had and seen interactions with him before - NOT customer focused AT ALL! He's either in the best of moods, laughing and joking, or the grumpiest man ever, snapping at people throwing his weight around that HE is the manager. Big deal. I guess this IHOP does well DESPITE him. Then when we get our food home, the order is WRONG! There is cheese on burrito and no extra side of gravy. Oh brother. If there was any way to get this simple order wrong, they did it! I cannot eat cheese, so I had no breakfast AND I paid EXTRA for the side of gravy which they did NOT give me. I immediately called the restaurant, since I couldn't eat anyway and asked to speak to the manager. After almost 10 minutes waiting, I was told he is very busy. So I left a message that my take out order was WRONG, and I left my name and number. It has now been almost an hour and no call back. If I was a betting person, I would bet this so called manager will NOT be calling me back. What's sad is most of the servers we have dealt with are very competent and pleasant, despite this nasty manager of theirs. I am still sad that Millie's left this location and IHOP took over. It will never be the same. And unless something is done about this pathetic manager who will continue to drive customers away, who knows how long this IHOP will be in business. **OK. I changed my original rating. It's almost 4pm and the manager did call me back. We had a long conversation and he apologized for the situation. He said he and his assistant manager watched it back on their video. He explained the girl was new and felt that my husband was being verbally abusive to the 15 year old in front of other people. I asked if he could have told my husband that she was new and he probably would have backed off some. He said he tried, but it was very busy and he was short of help. He acknowledged that my husband and I have been long time customers and did not mean for us not to come back. The manager said that he would adjust my bill for me not getting my extra gravy. I honestly felt that his apology was sincere. I guess we all have our bad days....................... read more

This is an update. I had a bad experience here before, but left a 4 Star rating anyway. This time, I came in with my kids. No wait. Not an exceptionally busy morning. Our drink orders were made right away. Cool. That's where my good experience ends. Our server forgot about us. I timed thirty minutes before my our server took our order. I'm at BJ's now, a day later. Our server got our drinks and took our order in less than five minutes. If you want better service, look elsewhere. read more

IHOP - IHOP family and friends in dinning room - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Brea, California

Came here because they have a deal. $5.00 dinner menu. Haven't eaten at an IHOP in over 15 years and I remembered how they always had the syrup varieties on the tables for your pancakes. The location where we stopped at didn't offer the dinner deal for $5. $6 is the deal they had which was still good and I wasn't about to get all up in arms about a dollar difference. I ended having the cheeseburger with the side of 3 pancakes..... did you catch that? 3 pancakes, yeah it sounds strange but hay, this is IHOP, a pancake house. The burger was delicious and really hit the spot, it wasn't a huge burger but just perfect enough to enjoy and leave enough room to smash the pancakes and not hate myself after for overeating. They didn't have the syrup varieties like I wrote about earlier but they were more than happy to bring out whatever flavor I wanted which was awesome! I chose strawberry, pancakes were light and fluffy just like I remembered them from way back, (better than Denny's) the service was great, and the family and I were very happy. I would definitely go back to this location even though there's about 5 other IHOPS that are closer to me. Thanks !!! read more
