I was craving a panini and this place seemed to have good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We got the Chicken Basil Pesto and the Chipotle Chicken with a side of chips. I preferred the basil over the chipotle as it was a bit too spicy for me, but the problem for me was the price. It was $16 for one sandwich, so I was expecting a lot more. My first time Yelp, but this experience was so bad that I feel obligated. I went there with my wife for lunch. It's a cozy local place. We had planned to have lunch and do some emails. We ordered two Vegetarian panini's and two drinks. The small 'panini's' were $15 and arrived dry with a little bit of spinach, almost no onions and 3 slices of avocado on each half and showed no signs of ever being in a panini press. We sent them back for the peppers and we never did get the olive oil spread. They forgot our drinks ($8) so I had to return to the counter to pay for those, but they forgot to ring two up and when we asked about the second, they told us someone would need to return to the counter to purchase another. Never an apology or 'sorry, we made a mistake'. We told them no thanks, two times was enough, we'd rather just go without . As we sat at our table reviewing our experience, the staff cranked up the volume on the music to drown out our conversation. So, that was all for two sandwiches and two drinks. I had this place as one of my favorites a few years ago for decent Panini. At the time, the price for one of these was about $12 at most. Today the price for one Panini is (at least) $17! Let me just say this is just a small size panini and the smallest bag of chips you can imagine (usually costing about .50 cents). Recently coming back, this place's quality is mediocre at best and the service is quiet basic. The man behind the register after taking our order came out to the back (where there are picnic tables) to inform me that our order was ready my food was just sitting there on a table... And he basically walked 3/4 of the way to tell me this, but it goes without saying, that perhaps he could of took those extra few steps and provided us with our order. Nevertheless, that set the mood for what we consumed and it doesn't taste any better than Target microwavable chicken, some store bought pesto sauce, and bread place on a grilling pan. My grand total for two little Panini's and the smallest bag of Chips imaginable was $36.75... Also, let me not forget to mention THE ICED TAP WATER (also very served in a very small cup). PRO-TIP: They've got Vietnamese Coffee here for those that are looking for that extra kick to start off their day. This coffee-shop is situated right in the heart of Downtown Arcadia. You'll find a large variety of iced/blended/hot coffee drinks along with a large amount of paninis. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee and the chicken basil pesto panini sandwich. It was the perfect pair for me as the coffee was strong and exactly what I needed. The sandwich was pretty delish as well. The order came with some chips and a canned soda. I came here for a meeting and I found it to be a great place to sit down and chat with someone too! read more

You may need to tiptoe when you enter on Saturdays since this place is like a library! I think the baristas was muffling the sound of the espresso maker since so many guests were on their laptops and phones working diligently on what, who knows? Decided to try this place that's known for their caffeine... well hyper caffeine for hyper coffee drinkers. Hyper Coffee is located in the quiet neighborhood of Arcadia, California. I walked inside the building, it was pretty cozy. Drink: Ice white mocha (20oz) which includes whip cream on top. It was an to-go order since I had to leave the area to go back home. I got my drink and went back to my car to go home. I was drinking my ice white mocha... turns out that I didn't get that hyper with all that caffeine. Darn!!! That's ok, not everyone can bounce off the wall, especially at work (day or night, and rain or shine). The drink was good actually. Service here wasn't too bad. Very cool and relaxed!!!! Overall, it was an nice try!!! And will give them another shot in the future.... if I'm in the area. 4 stars! read more

Open during COVID. Tried the Matcha Latte, Vietnamese Ice Coffee, and a lemon bar. Matcha Latte was good, similar to Starbucks, and they have milk alternatives like soy, almond, and oat milk. Vietnamese Ice Coffee was average; Lee's Sandwiches does it better. The lemon bar was perfectly sweet and sour and lemony. Mainly came here because of outdoor seating and free wifi (so you can study/browse the internet), and it's open until late afternoon. Would come again. read more

Snickers latte was a 10/10!!! My mom and grandma ordered the white mocha lattes and also liked their drink. To eat we ordered 2 breakfast bagels & 1 wrap. The wrap was delicious and the bagels were good but I'd probably order the wrap instead next time! I ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee. Took it home and sipped it and it was the most diluted, tasteless Viet coffee ever. It didn't even taste like Vietnamese coffee. More like a watered down latte. After running errands, I found this spot as it was open, parking looked doable, and wasn't too far from where I was at the moment. I grabbed an ice latte and one of their pastries and really enjoyed it. The service was quick and the staff that was present was nice. There were other folks in the coffee shop studying as well. This is a cute coffee shop with impeccable service and a lot of regulars coming in for their "regular" orders. Although a stranger to the location, I enjoyed the service, the ambiance and the outdoor patio. All very cool. I exist off of dark roast coffees. Their straight dark roast is fresh, but didn't have a very good flavor to it. It was thin bodied with a bitter aftertaste. But it was enough Caffeine to count. read more

Parking: super easy! There's a ton of free street parking either right in front on First Ave. or on the cross streets; I usually end up parking on the corner of Bonita and First. Staff: everyone is so incredibly nice!! They have a small staff, so it's really nice seeing the same people every day I came while they were doing a promotion and giving free drinks for a week to people who worked at nearby school districts, and every day, they would remind me that I could come back for a free drink the next day Dessert: I only tried the lemon bars (low-key wished I tried all of them) but THEY'RE SOOOO GOOD! it's the perfect balance between tart and sweet! I literally dump out the crumbs in the container onto the napkin so I can get every last bit of it! (don't judge) Drinks: the first two days I came, I got the Snicker's! If you like frappes, get it ice blended it's so good! and their whipped cream is really really good too! Watermelon juice: SO FREAKING DELICIOUS!! it was like a slushie and so refreshing! The coffee here was just OK, at pretty high prices - like even more pricey than fancy places with quality coffee (i.e. third wave coffeeshops, places with single origin drip, etc). Stopped here for a caffeine boost and bathroom break, but left unsatisfied with both. The one great thing about this place is their outdoor patio seating in the back. Go through the shop to get to it. They have several big park picnic style tables. This is a huge plus with COVID raging. Parking is also plentiful on First Ave. The coffee was definitely mediocre. I got a cortado unsweetened and substituted with soymilk, which usually you can taste the quality and depth of the espresso when it's of good quality. However with my order, I could only taste the sweet soymilk... I don't think they use soymilk that is best suited for baristas (thin, doesn't foam too well, overly sweet). Cortados usually put you out $3-$3.50 at nice coffeeshops even after a milk sub; it was $5 here after the milk sub. Not sure if their bathroom is just closed indefinitely because they don't want to deal with cleaning it, but it had a "bathroom is closed, out of order" sign on it. Overall, I would not go out of my way to come back. If it's the only convenient place and someone I'm with wants to go, I would just agree to accompany them. read more

This is being generous it's really .5 stars I'm just rounding up. I had wanted to try this place out as I'm in north west Arcadia and usually just do everything in Hastings Ranch/Pasadena but I thought I should give downtown Arcadia a chance, well so far big mistake. I had looked at pictures on Yelp and was pretty settled on a pesto sandwich and probably a lavender latte. That day they had a special oat milk lavender latte so I went with that and the chicken pesto. The Food: I should have run when I saw the chicken being microwaved but after paying $25 for a latte and sandwich I had made my bed. The insides are heated up and then plopped on a non offense bread that they then slather in oil unnecessarily and "toast" it on a panini press. The chicken was rubbery as expected from being in the microwave. The pesto tasted of oil and salt and there was a ton of flavorless white cheese. Maybe mozzarella? Idk, but it was so oily it was practically inedible and it was A $17 SANDWICH!!! Now I treat myself with Joe the Juice sandwiches occasionally cause they're a little pricey at $12 but they're phenomenal, to pay $17 FOR THIS was obscene!!! The Latte: it was whatever. Shots of espresso with lavender syrup. No it's not some hand made syrup it's your run of the mill mass produced monin syrup which is totally fine but again nothing to write home about or special about it coming from a small coffee shop. The service: now this is tied to the latte. The cashier (sweet young girl that looked like she was being held captive by her boss which was clearly the lady there bustling around everywhere) she rings me up the price is obscene $25 but whatever at that point I still have high hopes so I tip and wait for my order hoping the sandwich will justify the price tag. I sit and wait sit for the order WHEN THE OLDER WOMAN CLEARLY OWNER says oh she forgot to charge you for the syrup in your lavender latte. Now I've already seen them start making it and there was no miscommunication on my part but something they missed on their side. Let me tell you when she says I need to charge you for the syrup because we forgot it's 1.50 more. No sorry no nothing. Just a oh she didn't charge you extra for the syrup in the drink I ordered that comes with said syrup!!! So $1.50 more for syrup in a drink you already made! I pay cause I want my drink but idk that seemed super petty for a mistake you made AFTER you already made the drink! And 1.50 for syrup!?! TLDR way expensive and gross mediocre food and drinks. Weird service from the older woman that seemed to be the owner. Oh and the floors!! Disgusting. Not a little dirty. Gross stains crusted up the floor boards everywhere. This place was empty at 10 am that should tell you enough. Never again! $27 for a bad sandwich and coffee. Go to Peet's go to Starbucks. Go anywhere but here. read more

I came here early on a rainy Monday morning before Christmas, so there were plenty of parking spaces. The cafe was empty with a few customers coming in for their to-go coffees. I came because I have been craving for bagels and I wanted a place that opened early. Three stars for this place not because it was bad, but to me, it was just ok. The bagel was good, but seemed small for $3. Perhaps the power bagel with meat and cheese or one of the sandwiches would have been better. I wasn't in love with the coffee. It didn't strike me as anything special but the price was equivalent to some of my favorite local coffee spots. Certainly, the ambience wasn't great. It is an older cafe, so I'm sure they rely on their loyal customers for business. The barista was nice but, again, not overly or under accommodating. I've been looking for a hole in the wall coffee shop to study and best believe I've found the one!!! The workers are amazing and super nice!! The coffee if actually made with Klatch coffee beans which is amazing, one of my favorites! Would really recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a good coffee fix. The food they offer is tasty as well, I've tried their avocado toast so far and it was delicious! The only complaint I have about this place is that they charge around $1.50 for an alternative milk! I got their seasonal pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk and just my coffee came out to $7.50 for a 16oz iced! Let me introduce 'hyper coffee' in downtown Arcadia. It's a small local coffee shop. Insides are small so I felt kind of stuffy but they have patio too. So I'm gonna order coffee and sit at the patio. Let's check what's good here! Coffee 5/5 Espresso tastes really strong but I like it! Way better than other coffee shops which have no character. Food 4/5 I ordered some sandwich last time, it was okay. It was kind of small for me. But if you want to just grab some food then it will perfect. Patio 5/5 They have some big tables outside. Each tables are enough to sir more than four people. Also, still enough space if everyone has laptop. Oh! And you can smoke too. Management 5/5 Every time I go there, all barista were kind. Came here for a quick breakfast after hiking at Hermit Falls. I was happy to see that their outside patio in the front and back were open for dine in! I got their chicken basil pesto panini & a couple of their desserts - carrot cake, lemon tart, brownie, and cheesecake. I really liked their panini and I'd definitely get it again. Their desserts were also delicious. The only thing I didn't like was their iced americano, which was super bitter and acidic. I realized after many years that I would stop with negative reviews. But this place had it coming. Extremely rude owner, unprofessional and lack of any customer -centric intelligence. It's sucks too because it has potential and some very kind, young employees. Coffee is okay. Peep this; I ordered an oat milk latte and they give me a whole milk latte. No biggie, they made a mistake, maybe misheard me, it happens to the best of us. But after waiting for a cup of coffee for more than ten minutes as the only customer there on your way to work is already sort of tricky, the owner doesn't take accountability for her mistake, instead she charges me extra to switch into oat milk!!
