I like that you get Vietnamese and Thai dish options all in 1 place. I have no complaints about the food we ate. The place also got quite busy during the Sunday evening when we dined there. What I disliked was the poor quality of overall service we received. Right at the start, the waiter mentioned that the tap machine might not be working later during payment. It is working fine as of the moment, but there might be a possibility for it to act up maybe later. Another issue was that one of our orders did not come out. We ordered Pho, a red curry meal, fried wanton, and fresh rolls. The fried wanton was first to be served as expected, being an appetizer, then out came the Pho and red curry. We gave it some more time to see if the fresh roll just takes longer to prepare, but nothing came out within the acceptable amount of service time. I let them know about it and asked to just have it canceled from our order. Later on when I was paying the bill, I asked to confirm if the fresh rolls were indeed canceled from our bill. The person handling the counter cashier snapped back at me rudely and pointed to the just printed invoice listing all the ordered items. Something else that did not sit quite well with me is that they run out of the capacity to serve service water - water in glasses. I know they do serve water because I saw them in the other tables. When I asked the waiter, he mentioned that they no longer have glasses available. He asked us instead if we were OK to order bottled water instead. I find it unacceptable that customers have to be directed to a paid option instead of a commodity that should have been free. Whatever the case may be, they should have more than enough clean dishes to serve water in. There were just too many bad things to happen for me to leave a good recommendation. read more

I ordered from them via Uber Eats when I was in town, as I did not have a car at lunchtime. I was disappointed in their char kway teow, a staple for any Malaysian/Indonesian style restaurant. It was completely bland and flavorless. I poured the spicy chili sauce they included in my order just to give it some taste. Thankfully I also ordered the spring rolls and those were fresh and came with a savory peanut sauce. Late night eats on the cheap! That's why this place is so popular. Went here late on a Friday night and the place was busy but our party of 11 adults and 2 children were seated right away. We wrote our orders down on the order sheet and our food came out quickly after. I ordered the B7 Vermicelli noodles with grilled pork which came with an egg roll ($7.49). I enjoyed my dish, the vegetables were fresh and meat was flavorful with a touch of sweetness. The egg roll was a little greasy but still very tasty. I like to pour a little bit of the dipping sauce for the egg roll onto my noodle dish to add more flavor to the vermicelli. My hubby ordered the P18 Pho with beef, tendon and tripe ($7 for a large). I tried his soup and it was delicious (after adding the condiments of course) and the meat was tender. The balance of flavors was excellent! Servers were attentive and efficient. This is my second time coming back to this place and both times, it was great! It gets really packed in the evenings which seems like a good sign. I do prefer this pho place over the other one across the street. Portions were large and everything tasted amazing. Hung Long has been my go to spot for years... although as of recent they must have started using lower quality meat and it shows in the taste of the pork chop. Beef stays excellent. Fried rice is great. Their deep fried spring rolls are the best I've ever had and I literally get spring rolls at every restaurant that offers it. Other then the Pho- they have a very extensive menu with a vary of appetizers and mains. I was fascinated with the crispy noodle bowl that comes with the meat and vegetables in the middle. I guess the difference choices would be the T2 section (Mi Don)- crispy chow mein. Had to wait a while as the black bean sauce softened up the noodles to make the center soft and chewt while the exterior was crispy. Was fun to eat. Dishonest business owner. I ordered for take out and when I went in to pay, it was strange that he looked at my wallet brand then thought for a bit before entering the prices into the cash register. For regular bun bo hue, a regular bun, and a chicken wing, it came up to $39. That felt like a lot for what I ordered at a Vietnamese restaurant. I paid and asked what's in my order again in case there's a mix up. He said there's tax. I didn't get a receipt so I asked for one and only then did he complete the transaction on his register. I stood there some more still wondering, he told me the prices. $13.99 for bun bo hue, 10.99 for bun and 8.99 for chicken wings. I checked the menu on the way out and he jacked up the prices by $3-5 for each of the mains. Well, that's the end of my interactions with them. I didn't want to bother arguing about it. Clearly, a dishonest business. Tried the food. It's decent but the bitter taste was still on my tongue and it was pretty standard north York Vietnamese quality so nothing worth coming back for. read more

The service is friendly, the location is very clean and spacious and the quality of the food is superb and their prices are cheap. So the first 5 visits would have given this place a 3-4 star. but for what you get, plus their recent price hike - perhaps it's no longer worth it. Let's be honest, pho is not difficult to mass-produce. Which is why within 3 mins of your order, you often get the big bowl of it in front of you real fast. Soup is pre-made, and noodles you can buy for very little cost. However the most recent trip i made there i realized that the menu was new, food the same, but every dish was as least 1-4 dollars more than a month ago. If they do it for certain dishes, smaller increments, or put more meats in the soup, I'd be ok with it... but no, my bill in the end was 30% more than the usual rate for ordering the exact same things. This is hands down my favorite Viet restaurant! I usually get there seafood green curry with rice and it always exceeds. They definitely don't cheap out as I never finish my dish because I am always given quite a big portion and loaded with various seafood I always end up saving the rest for later. I am never disappointed as the curry sauce boosts of aromatic flavour and its seafoods itself are cooked evenly. My boyfriend always gets Pho every time, and he and I agree that the broth is Delicious! I have worked at couple of Viet restaurants before and never really cared for pho anymore but this broth is definitely one of the best ones! I also tried their Pad Thai, to appeased my Thai craving, now this is a Vietnamese restaurant and I don't expect it compare at all Sukho Thai quality but compared to most chinese/Vietnamese owned restaurants Pad Thai's this is one isn't horrible and you get a big portion as well. Both of them are so different than the taste you had out there. They have a unique kind of taste. Their beef are so soft and tender.
