Southwestern Panini
Mariann W.

Dropped by for brunch on a lazy Sunday morning--I had the omelet special-- presented in a cute cast iron pan of fluffy eggs, creamy salty smoked salmon which paired well with the hollandaise sauce that lightly bathed every bite. The southwest panini came piled with roasted Turkey, red peppers, and melted sharp cheese--I did not do much talking since my mouth was filled with food most of the time and I'll let the silence from across the table speak for itself. Excellent coffee and pleasant, caring waitstaff rounded out the excellent meal. Good to know: I believe parking in Media is free on Sundays or at least I've never been given a ticket and they can accommodate gluten sensitivities.

a plate of french toast, scrambled eggs, and a bottle of beer

It's like 3.5 for me. They didn't have the entree that I first ordered so that was a bummer. My son thought the full Order of French toast was a little small but the dish was tasty. I think everyone was under whelmed with the breakfast potatoes. They were wedges but seemed over cooked and hard. The egg skillet was good As was the eggs Benedict My sandwich/panini was under whelming so much that I can't remember the name of it. It was dry and over done. The breakfast quesadilla looked good

Tomato Soup

I stopped into House for the first time yesterday for lunch with my sister, and I was pleasantly surprised! The tomato soup was absolutely delicious. Usually I'm not a big tomato soup fan, but I loved this! The Winter Salad was also very tasty and light. I loved the goat cheese in the salad that made it a little creamy. The southwestern panini was also very good. I love that House offers a 1/2 and 1/2 option for lunch too. It lets you try so many different things on the menu depending on your mood. The 1/2 and 1/2 makes the meal extremely low cost too, and good food at an affordable price is always a plus in my book! I wish I would've known House was there before because I would've went a while ago! I'm excited to go back again and try their breakfast menu!

Braised beef tips in truffle Mac and Cheese

It can be pricy but, good service and high-quality food. Try the little Dutch Baby skillets, it's great with breakfast and feeds 1-2 as a side or desert. Brunch is the best, but their Mac & cheese won't disappoint. Their soups are great to freeze and heat up later. I keep a few in my freezer for rainy days. Their specials are consistently good, and rotate often. They have some great homemade ice teas too. They're accommodating when it comes to Gluten free bread for sandwiches and breakfast options. Some of the food cans be kind of rich, so I take part of it home to finish later. I don't eat a lot of meat, but their beef and pork dishes are consistently superb.

Don't understand hype. Overpriced and over crowded, which I could stomach if the food wasn't weak.

Good food. Decent prices. Could use a simpler kids menu but when thats your only complaint it shows how good it can be.

I currently live in Delco, and as a result, I've frequented the same places for the last twenty-five years. Then I stumbled onto Van Horn's one day, and my cheesesteak experience hasn't been the same since. I stuck with the same steak for a while -- I highly recommend the blackened chicken cheesesteak. But recently I ventured out to try something new, and once again, Van Horn's didn't disappoint. The fact that you can get your chicken cheesesteak chopped or chunked is another nice touch. It's rare that I pay for something I'm used to paying a little less for and feel like I actually got my money's worth -- but that's exactly the case here. I've talked to family and friends, and we'll gladly rank Van Horn's as the best place in Delco, hands down, against any other contenders. Sitting here right now, looking forward to chowing down for lunch. Thanks!

All my guests loved the location (the Rose Room) which fit our italian theme perfectly, and they all were so impressed by the food, especially the pasta bar. Theresa noticed I hadn't had a chance to eat so she boxed up some food to take home. What a great touch. Cakes were delicious, and they have such an expansive list it was hard to choose so I ordered 3! The event team always responded promptly to my emails and were clear in their responses. The party was very affordable for my 66 guest event and I hope to see more events there, either as a host or a guest in the future.

We had the antipasto charcuterie, Italian Market chicken cutlet sandwiches, pistachio chicken tenders, and the cheese and fruit tray. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and a huge hit with our guests. The pistachio chicken tenders especially lived up to the reputation -- absolutely delicious. The chicken cutlet sandwiches were excellent, the charcuterie was perfect for a winery setting, and the cheese and fruit tray rounded everything out perfectly. The portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and we had more than enough food for our group without going overboard. DiFabio's made the food portion of the event easy, and I would absolutely use them again for catering. Highly recommended.
