I've been to the Corner twice now for brunch and enjoyed it each time! The service is amazing and the love the workers have for this place is palpable, they always make sure we have everything we need. Feels like a cute hole-in-the-wall place inside. I love the Omelettes, they're definitely above average, they come with fried potatoes and perfectly toasted/buttered bread. I love putting the omelette on top of the bread, so good! The perfect amount of food and I clean my plate everytime. Although, not enough for leftovers. I've gotten the 14 Hour Pork Butt Omelette and the Kennett Square Omelette. Both were delicious! My boyfriend and family have had the Huevos Rancheros--which looked amazing and I was told it was delicious. Looked like a lot of food too, so if you want something more filling and hearty, I'd get that over the omelettes. They've also had the breakfast sandwiches, which looked like a steal for the price and very good as well. The coffee, hot chocolate and tea is great too, and fairly priced! The Corner has been on my list of places to try for over a year, mainly so I could try the Huevos Rancheros, and I finally had the opportunity to try it recently with one of my daughters. It was a bustling yet comfortable little restaurant, split into two separate rooms. My daughter and I sat on the side with the grill, which had extra windows since it's on "The Corner" and some nice green plants that brightened things up a little more. The Huevos Rancheros didn't disappoint - I ordered mine with the coffee rubbed short rib. It really was good and it was cooked perfectly. The crispy potatoes were so good and actually crispy, unlike most other places that just have a little crisp to them. I adore home fries, and they can be hard to cook just right, so I really enjoyed these. The service was great and the waitress was so friendly. Oh, and there was an earthquake while we were there - and my daughter was the only one who even felt it LOL Overall, it was a yummy and fun visit. 7 years after my last review of them, and let me take the opportunity to upgrade them for two reasons. One, the food merits it. My wife raved about the Huevos Rancheros. I raved about the smoked pork omelette which had a real nice smoke to the meat. And my boy loved the chocolate chip pancake. I must say that pancake deserves special mention. Met two former PECO colleagues there for breakfast. The menu has all the standards and some yummy-sounding non standard items, all of it reasonably priced. Our orders arrived hot and tasty. Good food. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to Yelp for another treasure. Had to pick up the car after a night in Media. Missed the trolley in so we drove but decided to play it safe and take it home. So Breakfast was in order. When we walked up to the door there was a line waiting to be seated. This to me is a great sign as people are lining up to eat there delicious treats. Waited about 10 minutes until 2 seats opened up at the counter. The waitress even offered us a beverage as we waited for a seat to open up. Great hospitality skills ladies I applaud you. 3 ladies were working the restaurant and man where they hustling. 2 switched off on and on on the grill while the other was cleaning and taking orders. I went with the special of the day Banana Crunch Pancakes, they were filled with fruit granola. They were delicious, I didn't even put butter or syrup on them. Each bite was filled with a mixture of bananas, granola, and assorted treats (walnuts, almonds, raisins, and cranberries. The wife had a cheese omelet with a side of bacon and hash browns. The bacon was cooked perfectly, not too crispy and not to raw. The hash browns were cooked in the deep fryer and then placed on the grill. Upon talking to the waitress we found out it is a BYOB! Not only do they serve breakfast and lunch but on Thursdays & Fridays they are a Mexican restaurant open for Dinner. I can't wait to go back for dinner. Just need to grab some tequila as they have pre-made Margaritas mix awaiting for you. I hope we miss the trolley again so we have another reason to be in Media early in the morning. I wanted to update a three-star review I left a couple of years ago. I've returned several times to The Corner since then, and have had a far more enjoyable experience. They're still a little pricey, but I feel like I am getting a lot for my money lately. Omelettes and potatoes are a breakfast staple in the cafe/diner/lunch counter world, but they are delivered to a higher level at The Corner. The dining area has expanded, and is so pleasant! My husband and I had breakfast this morning here and it was really good. He has a vegan plate consisting of potatoes, pico and black beans - as these are some of his favorite foods he was very happy. I had the veggie omelette- nicely cooked with a fresh selection of veggies. The potatoes were delicious and they remembered to leave my toast dry (more often than not places forget and bring spongy toast with butter adjacent spread. They also have a nice selection of tea. Grab a muffin while you're there! I am very picky about my chocolate chip pancakes. They have to have the right amount of chips and not be over cooked...I know, so silly. The Koffee Korner has it down. They cook them just right. I get them every time I go in, and it always is just as yummy as the last time. Raina, the owner, is usually there serving. I thought about it all day long...so i went again last night for mexican and it was somehow even better than it had ever been. I wasn't that hungry, but I made room for the chicken quesadilla that Chloe made as well as the guacamole, handmade chips, and amazing salsa. Since I dropped the ball on getting my friend Corey a birthday gift a bit ago, I also treated him. We shared the chips, guac, and salsa and each had entrees and it was just about $19 for two people...which is a steal for how much we each ate and how good it was. This is definitely one of my favorite places for brunch. There are always daily specials. I usually end up ordering the special, and I have yet to be let down. The portions are quite generous. I usually will have to take the rest home. The place is small, but it's very quaint. If you end up sitting at the bar area, the cooks/staff are very friendly and will chat with you while they're cooking your food. Everything is made from scratch. Even their drink mixes! They literally chopped open a coconut to make us piña coladas.--It was kind of cool to watch. I believe on Sunday they have a drink of the day which is on the house. I like this place for the unique breakfast menu. It's not often you'll find huevos rancheros in this area, let alone 4 different options for how you'd like it prepared! I went with the flank steak huevos rancheros (with a generous amount of sriracha, of course). I thought It was absolutely delicious except for the stale tortillas resting below my mountain of steak, beans and eggs. The home fries with onions were divine. Good coffee. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich which sadly had a hair draped across the top of it. The staff was very apologetic and took it off the bill before making another. She thoroughly enjoyed her (hairless) sandwich. The waitstaff is my main issue with Koffee Korner. While our server was friendly he was incredibly absent minded and just... absent. The restaurant isn't big but we had a difficult time finding him and flagging him down, and after requesting things like refills he had to be reminded multiple times. We were annoyed to have to wait that long for a water refill. The interior is also pretty dilapidated. While it won't stop me from coming here again - the food really is THAT good - it's not the most charming spot for breakfast. read more

The Huevos Rancheros were just OK - personal preference, I prefer sautéed onions rather than raw - and not a particularly large serving. Coffee was very good. Hash browns were outstanding. I can see why locals are so fond of Koffee Korner. On the other hand, it is kind of a dump inside - not necessarily bad, sort of in a good dive-bar way. I would have given this a slightly better review, as the food wasn't too bad. The issue I have, and the reason I won't eat here again is because of what I saw when I was paying... The cook was cleaning off his spatula with a scraper. Then, to clean off that scraper, he simply ran it across the top of the open trashcan, using the lip of the trashcan to get the gunk off. Not a good experience. I rarely give a place a 1 star rating but this place struck out on all counts. Food: the descriptor is that this place serves Mexican food. I only saw huevos rancheros on the menu. That's ok since I expected other breakfast options based on previous reviews. My dining partner loves huevos rancheros and often orders it. This was our first time at KK. This version would not encourage us to order it again. The tortilla was stale, not corn, and slopped with an anemic pico de Gallo. The home fries that came with it had an off taste like old fry oil. Eggs were less than stellar. Terrible. I ordered eggs over medium with multigrain bread. The eggs were fried in oil and the toast burnt, served with the same home fries. The toast was "painted" with butter or margarine by the cook. No jelly was offered but there was a nondescript jar of something that may have been jam on the table. No label. I was going to order pancakes but there was a $2.50 upcharge for maple syrup. I understand you have to charge for that but that charge is ridiculously high Service: Poor. One waitress for the whole place. She could not handle the few tables that were filled. Got offered one refill of coffee when we were 1/2 way through our meal. Waitress was overly familiar and did not provide a check at the table saying, "We went paperless." When she asked if we like the huevos and said "no" she indicated that it is their best seller and the asked if we have ever had it before. When we just wanted to pay and go, she accused us of being grumpy. Actually, just greatly disappointed and wanted to get out. Ambiance: Greasy spoon in need of attention. Food is o.k.; There issues with the service and won't eat here ever again. The waitstaff would rather lose paying customers then ask people who are finished eating and are just sitting at the tables to leave.
