We had a great experience here today. Our kids, all 10 and under, sat at one table while my wife and I and a friend sat at another table. The waitress was very kind to the kids helping them give their orders and taking care of them throughout the meal. We ordered a combination of pancakes French toast and eggs and everything came out great. Check this place out for good service and even better food. read more

Not only was the special sandwich -- smoked salmon with Brussels sprout-apple slaw and goat cheese on rye toast -- incredibly creative and delicious, the service was exceptional. Our waitress (long mermaid red hair) was so kind, and we were there right before they closed at 2pm. A really great deal, as well. A sandwich, a huge side of fries, and three soft drinks was $15. What a great spot in media for breakfast and brunch! I came here with a friend on Saturday morning, and we both had delicious omelettes. Each omelette comes with the most incredible red potato home fries, along with toast. We also ordered a blueberry pancake that we split, as it was the size of a plate. I'm going to throw my hat in the ring for this place. I've had lunch here twice during the winter. Both times I had an excellent cup of chowder and a sandwich that hit the spot. The food is well made with good ingredients for a place that (as another reviewer noted) has the feel of a small diner. The patrons are all really down to earth and fun to talk to (an exception in Media). Can get busy, especially for lunch (typical for Media). Good place to go for lunch if you are hungry, cold and want to have a conversation (you can actually hear your companions). They also advertise a southwestern themed dinner (I believe it's Wednesdays or Thursdays) that I haven't had the chance to try myself but have heard is very good. read more

I went here for breakfast when I was housesitting for some friends nearby. We arrived around 11am on a Sunday morning and seated ourselves at a table in the back. We placed our order and waited quite a while to receive our food. When the food arrived, my toast, bacon and blueberry pancake arrived but not the scrambled eggs or homefries that were part of the "two eggs" menu item. I alerted the server to tell him that I had not received my eggs, which seemed to be news to him. I had forgotten about the home fries as had the kitchen. The eggs came a short while later, along with an explanation from the waiter that they were very busy. The place was full, but they didn't seem especially busy for a Sunday morning. I only realized towards the end of the meal that I never received the homefries that should have come with my eggs. My companion's meal was an egg sandwich with veggies on an english muffin. She asked the server what kind of veggies she could have on the sandwich. On the menu there are a lot of option for veggies that can be added to omelettes, sandwiches, etc. The waiter told her that they would put a mixture of all the veggies on the sandwich. What arrived at the table was an english muffin with fried egg, canned diced tomato and a little bit of spinach. How about some fresh tomatoes? It's the middle of July! Also, maybe some mushrooms? Despite the La Colombe "Open" sign affixed to the door, our coffee was fair at best. I'm sure they aren't using La Colombe. After speaking with a co-worker who lives in Media this afternoon, it seems that Koffee Korner has gone downhill recently. All in all a disappointing meal at the Corner. read more

"I went here on a breakfast date and loved it! Small, "diner" feel, lots of organic ingredients! I had the juevos rancheros, and it was"to die for"! Now, I must tell you that ordinarily I stay away from any meal that has eggs that are soft. However, once I saw the ingredients that were in this (handmade corn tortilla, black beans, cheese, and the eggs), I knew that this was going to be my very first runny egg breakfast, ha ha! I was not disappointed, either-I was looking for more! When they brought over my date's blueberry pancakes, sorry date, but I had to try them, and they were mouthwatering! The coffee bumped this to 2 stars, even though it didn't taste like La Colombe, otherwise this would be a 1 star review. My husband and I used to eat here frequently about 4 yrs ago when we lived in the borough. There was always a wait to get a table as well as to get the food, but it was tasty. I went in recently and ordered breakfast and had a cup of coffee. I left after the coffee. After seeing the filth in the kitchen, the number of flies landing everywhere, the general disarray, and the run down look of things my self preservation instincts kicked in. I cancelled my order, paid for the coffee and out the door I went (to the clean and hospitable Mrs Marty's around the block). I've never done that before, even when I lived in the Philippines. The owners need to close shop for a week, grab some disinfectant, degreaser, etc and have at it. Replace the awful stained ceiling tiles and slap on a fresh coat of paint. It's sad. I love the koffee korner, I don't even live in Media anymore and I still drive 25 minutes sometimes just to go eat there. Every meal I've had there has been amazing - I've never been dissapointed. The staff are also great and have become my friends over the years and would totally become yours too if you stepped into the place even once a month. The Koffee Korner is always packed on weekends obviously because its great. Their specials are always changing and interesting and delicious. My favorite thing is their french toast...and I love to get scrapple their too. what a great cozy cafe, I just wish they were open later in the day sometimes! read more

We lived in Media for a year and ended up coming here for brunch every weekend. Since we've moved to Conshohoken, I haven't found a brunch place that matches up to this place, and now Koffee Korner is my standard for brunch. This is obviously a divey place and doesn't pretend to be anything else. It's bare-bones and cozy and homey. The servers are super friendly and nice. Food is great. Pancakes are perfect and fluffy. The Mexican omlete/egg sandwich is awesome because the salsa is delicious. Coffee is also good, but it's hard to mess up coffee. I've tried a lot of things on the menu, including specials, and I've never gotten anything that I've disliked. Great neighborhood place. Wish it could have moved to Conshy with me. read more

Coffee is served in those perfect diner mugs! Great breakfast spot! Huevos Rancheros are excellent! It's very small and crowded if you don't beat the rush. Not great for groups , but perfect for 1-4 people. We have been 4 times for breakfast and liked everything we have ordered. The only thing they are missing is Bloody Mary's and Mimosas!!!! On a Sunday morning, I was walking around in media looking for a causal place to have breakfast with my boyfriend. We got to the tiny restaurant and waited in line behind another group and were served our choice of coffee or orange juice while we were waiting for a table. Luckily we got there when we did because it wasn't long until we snagged an outside table. It was quite some time before someone came over to take our drink orders/refill our line waiting coffees, so by the time the waiter finally stopped by we had everything planned out. Then we waited again. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, approximately 30 mins for eggs and pancakes, we were able to observe the disarray of large parties of hungry people waiting to put their name in for a table. We wondered in here on a Sunday about 1:30 for a quick brunch and some coffee. Little did we realize, they close at 2, but the staff was warm and welcoming, they did not treat us bad or rush us out of the door. They even told us to stay and have a second cup of coffee (and a great conversation about heavy metal with the chef), despite the fact they were closing. For brunch, I have only had the Yellow Submarine (egg and cheese sandwich) and roasted potatoes. I have to say it was one of the best egg n' cheeses I have tasted! They serve La Colombe coffee, so needless to say it was great. We went back the next Friday for the Mexican dinner and it was damn good. I had the Veggie Quesadillas, which were very good. They serve homemade chips and salsa as a starter, I had a side of guac, which was almost better than my own. The Koffee Korner Cafe has the most amazing food!! The owners put pride in what they make and it shows! I eat there all the time and I've never been disappointed. I love their Cheese Burgers......they're prepared perfectly! They also have lunch specials to die for!!!...My favorite is the crab cake sandwich! I also love their chili special! Places like this beat the pants out of change stores any time. Koffee Korner is a wonderful eatery in the middle of Media PA downtown. Entering, it seems like a regular diner from times long gone. However, the menu is state-of-the-art. Of particular notice, being in the middle of the little downtown of Media, is that most of the stores are pet friendly all fresco. Where to start... the food is highly over priced and greasy. KK is trying to compete with other Media eaterys and is failing miserably, they aren't even in the same league. The first time I ordered from this eatery I got breakfast; it was ok but not worth $16! Then next time I ordered the most basic of lunches, a grilled cheese with ham (comes with "kettle chips) for a whopping $12; no thank you. During my second visit I witnessed the guy working the grill eating food bare handed off the grill, the woman behind the counter coughing loudly without covering her hands then proceeding to pour coffee and make food. Yuck. Finally after leaving a review on FB about the visit KK responded trying to discredit everything that happened. The takeaway; do not waste your time or money here. This is an outstanding place to eat. Despite being busy as anything, the service is never compromised. They treat you as if you have been their friend for years. The food is delicious, fresh and local. The coffee alone is worth stopping by. Seeing how it is always busy should be a sign. It is a good one. Koffee Korner is a great little niche breakfast/lunch restaurant in Media that I enjoy eating at. Every time I've eaten there the staff is always quick to serve and does so with a friendly smile. I have never had the lunch menu, but the breakfast menu has excellent selection from regular & everyday menu items to more obscure omelet concoctions. I have yet to eat anything that I did not love, and generally have a hard time deciding what sounds the best on the menu. The owner once ran after us because the waitress accidentally forgot to give us our Yelp! discount, and that shows they stand behind their business. I find that the limited seating can be a hindrance to whether or not I stop at this restaurant on a weekend, but that is the only downside to this place. read more

I have never had the mexican dinner, so I can't comment on that. However, from what I've heard it's can't miss. What I can comment on is the breakfast and lunches that have left me satisfied and smiling all day long. Koffee Korner is cash only (didn't know the first time I went) and small with a hometown kind of feel. The menu size is decent and the specials are really special. I've never had a bad meal here. Mu husband and I tried the Koffee Korner based on recommendations on a Facebook page...so glad we did! We went early on a Sunday morning (about 8:30) and got seated right away.As we were leaving about 9:00 it was getting busy. I ordered the build your own omelet and it was perfect. The home fries were SO good. Crispy and just the right amount of saltiness! I also ordered a side of the french toast....yum! Thick slice perfectly cooked! My husband ordered the huevos rancheros and said too much tomato but he doesn't like tomato but said it was good. Decent portion too! He agreed the home fries were delicious. He also got a nice size portion of scrapple. The staff was really friendly and I loved listening to how to decide which music to play, they picked good songs in my opinion. A great little spot for a quick breakfast. The huevos rancheros are amazingly delicious... after the first time I tried them I haven't been able to order anything else. My husband tells me that the Kennett and Jackson omelettes are also delicious as are the crispy, perfectly seasoned home fries. Be forewarned that Koffee Korner is a tiny restaurant. There are maybe 6 x 2-seater tables and 4-ish booths that could sit 4 people max plus counter seating. Expect to wait on a weekend, especially if you have more than 2 people in your party. Waiting isn't too bad (they'll bring you coffee) unless there are more than about 6 people waiting, in which case you might be standing outside on the sidewalk so dress appropriately! Love the breakfast here, eggs are cooked exactly how I ask for them, real potatoes quartered with just enough seasoning...What I call HOME FRIES, not frozen bits and pieces others serve up!
