Early on a Sunday morning (8:30/9) there was plenty of seating available and no wait. Friendly faces greeted and sat us immediately. Our drinks in nice BIG mugs were on the table even before we could decide what to order. For me the Buffalo chicken sandwich on special caught my eye and I was sweating by the end of it. Great flavor, good heat, chicken extending far past the bun a win for me. For him, not so much. His omelet was on the small side, and favors were lacking. His side of scrapple thin - his toast unbuttered. Nothing worthy of complaining or sending back but definitely not like omelettes that we are used to getting. I would give The Kettle a solid 3.5 for the friendly service, comfortable atmosphere, and the chicken sandwich. Perhaps when in the area again we may stop back for another try

The first we noticed was our utensils were inside of a cellophane sleeve and placed on the table. I love breakfast and there is something for everyone. We started with coffee, which was perfectly brewed and piping hot. My entree was the short stack buttermilk pancakes, bacon and a scrambled egg. Our second entree was an acalpulco omelet with chorizo, cheese jalepeno(excluded), onions, home fries( added green peppers and onions) wheat toast. The bacon was delicious, crispy and cooked perfectly. Coffee two cups later, it was really good with only half&half and one sugar. There is also a lunch menu. We will definitely return for breakfast. Service is personable and attentive.

Literally within walking distance from where I live. I have wanted to visit the Delco Diner for a…read morewhile, and today I did. For breakfast. Unassuming from the outside, far more inviting once you enter -- my favorite detail, the black-and- white checkered floor. Classic. The warmth of the manager was apparent right away. We got the booth we wanted, off to a good start. Basic breakfast order, no fuss, server took down all the details. When it comes to my bacon, I prefer crisp - and it was perfect, honestly. Coffee, big mug, hot, robust. My meal did not disappoint in the slightest. Generous serving of potatoes with my eggs (I suggest asking for onions, again, perfect). Except ... My toast. I had to wait for my toast while my breakfast sat. I've been to *many* diners in my life, not the first time I've experienced this, it happens ... but the amount of time I waited for it to come, seemed to suggest there had been an oversight. And I guess that ties into the strongest negative I might mention. There were intervals of waiting that threw off the rhythm of how a diner operates. I needed water my partner needed a refill ... and for a while it seemed like the only way that could happen is if I got up, went to the counter and asked for it. (Not alone in this. A nearby table did exactly that to get what they needed.) Easy fixes, not that big a deal. My first suggestion: Have a big pitcher of water on ice ready at all times. When you see a glass low, go for it. Simple, the mark of a pro. Listen -- I love diners, can't get enough, the more around my neighborhood the better. When we told our server we'd be back, we meant it. Especially for the gelato! Homemade! The sample I tasted, delectable. We all have room for improvement, so no harm no foul. I really need to try dinner at the Delco Diner -- BYOB, c'mon. Support these folks, they're great.

I was in the neighborhood around lunch time and saw a line of people waiting for orders. I parked in the bowling alley lot next door. The girl at the counter was very friendly and recommended a cheesesteak. I ordered one with American Cheese and hot peppers. You get a choice of seeded or non seeded roll ... of course I went seeded. I sat at the old school counter and enjoyed hearing some locals catching up, older fellas chatting about nothing and watching the boys work that flat top. My sandwich came out pretty fast. The roll was crispy and fresh, the meat was tasty and packed in so tight not a morsel of meat fell out, the cheese was melted into the roll and meat extremely well and each bite was full of hot pepper bite. It was well put together and made. I was impressed and would rank this cheesesteak pretty high in Delco. Not the best I've had but quantity and quality wise it's well above average. The breakfast here is what everyone typically raves about (I'll be back for a breakfast sandwich), but don't sleep on the lunch menu. Especially that cheesesteak! Thanks guys for a great experience.

It was a bustling yet comfortable little restaurant, split into two separate rooms. My daughter and I sat on the side with the grill, which had extra windows since it's on "The Corner" and some nice green plants that brightened things up a little more. The Huevos Rancheros didn't disappoint - I ordered mine with the coffee rubbed short rib. It really was good and it was cooked perfectly. The crispy potatoes were so good and actually crispy, unlike most other places that just have a little crisp to them. I adore home fries, and they can be hard to cook just right, so I really enjoyed these. The service was great and the waitress was so friendly. Oh, and there was an earthquake while we were there - and my daughter was the only one who even felt it LOL Overall, it was a yummy and fun visit. I'm glad I finally got to try it out, and I will definitely go again sometime.

The perfect amount of food and I clean my plate everytime. Although, not enough for leftovers. I've gotten the 14 Hour Pork Butt Omelette and the Kennett Square Omelette. Both were delicious! My boyfriend and family have had the Huevos Rancheros--which looked amazing and I was told it was delicious. Looked like a lot of food too, so if you want something more filling and hearty, I'd get that over the omelettes. They've also had the breakfast sandwiches, which looked like a steal for the price and very good as well. The coffee, hot chocolate and tea is great too, and fairly priced! I get a drink every time, and they make sure you have refills, sugar, honey, whatever you want with it. Overall I recommend this place as a pretty good option if you're in Media!
