The meals took a while to get there (which was surprising since it was mid afternoon), but were delicious and well prepared when they arrived (a Panini and a Reuben.) I feel the people here are kind and great cooks. I was pleasantly surprised I forgot they offer oatmeal (labeled on the menu as "hot cereal") so I got that with a veggie omlette with cheese. Everything was delicious. I was also happy to see it was busier than usual probably due to their slight change in hours (Note: Unless this had always been their schedule. It always seemed it closed earlier than it could be convenient arrive to sit and eat here). But they were doing well and chatting with folks. Coming here I kind of felt like family. And the best way I know how to describe this is that there was nothing bad about my experience. It was fine. It was also nothing special. My French Toast was good. It was good enough. It wasn't gourmet by any means. It was just decent. No real distinctive flavor to it but not bad at all. And service was friendly to me. Standard diner service all the way. Don't expect much. Today was no exception. Their grilled chicken sandwich was not what I hoped for. On the plus side, it was a generous portion of chicken, most of which I took home. As a negative -- at least for me -- I like a flat filet, with grill marks. This was "chunky," rendering it clumsy to eat. It simply didn't taste grilled at all. And the chicken was dry. T ordered a country omelet that was filled with breakfast meats, cheddar and peppers. Though not my thing, I agreed it was pretty good. His grits were creamy, buttery and delicious. Coffee is strong and served in the old-fashioned heavy mugs that I favor. Our server was friendly. ("Where are you from?" she asked, picking up on my Brooklyn accent.) I asked if Greek lemon soup is ever on the menu. She said that the owners are Turkish, then gave me a rundown of their specialties, all of which sound delish. (Alas, no avgolemono.) I wouldn't hesitate to return to Folcroft. The menu is diverse, the restaurant is clean -- as pointed out by another Yelper AND our waitress. Spending a holiday here was pleasant with good food, kind staff, and great service. The food I had included a special which was a stuffed green pepper and had mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts for the sides. Preceding that was a tasty beef orzo soup. My parents enjoyed the food as well. Almost as a tradition we were curious about dessert which we usually end our meal on at this place. When I checked out the spread alone I was in over my head trying to see the almost countless sweet options. But that was when a major person on the staff (possibly the owner) let me know what everything was. I was impressed he knew the vast amount of cakes down to the cupcakes and tarts! My dad and I both selected the German chocolate cake while my mom desired the lemon meringue. All was tasty!
