Just went here for Christmas dinner and the entire experience was great! We nearly forgot that the Chinese-all-you-can-eat place was not open Christmas day so like the years before, we went to this location for December. Spending a holiday here was pleasant with good food, kind staff, and great service. The food I had included a special which was a stuffed green pepper and had mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts for the sides. Preceding that was a tasty beef orzo soup. My parents enjoyed the food as well. Almost as a tradition we were curious about dessert which we usually end our meal on at this place. When I checked out the spread alone I was in over my head trying to see the almost countless sweet options. But that was when a major person on the staff (possibly the owner) let me know what everything was. I was impressed he knew the vast amount of cakes down to the cupcakes and tarts! My dad and I both selected the German chocolate cake while my mom desired the lemon meringue. All was tasty! Had a good time at the diner, enjoyed my chicken blt salad. My dad had the meatloaf, mash potatoes , spinach. The food arrived really quick and the service was good. I would like to go back to try other options. I wasn't feeling good this day but tried to put something in my stomach. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, Hubby ordered the Turkey dinner and 2 sides which was supposed to be mashed potatoes and side salad with French Dressing. Everything, this time I went with 3 family members who had never been and the experience was even better. If you don't want dessert then you better walk out with eyes closed. We left with 4 different items. Just me alone (lol) my brother had 2. I have got to remember to take a picture of my food but when it comes I'm so excited to eat. And they have the best danishes. Decent diner. I've been here before for breakfast but never for dinner until recently. Like most diners , there is a large menu with a ton of options along with a nightly specials menu. There definitely seems to be a lot of repeat customers that are friendly with the hosts and servers. The booths in the front have a acrylic sheet to help separate the booths, which is a great idea but the ones surrounding our booth were loose because every movement caused them to vibrate. A little annoying. The meals we got both came with various choices and we both got a house salad. It was a basic salad with chunks of iceberg lettuce and for me a little messy to eat. I definitely left more than half of my salad uneaten. My other diner got the eggplant Parmesan. He was happy with it but the piece i tried had very soft eggplant inside which is not my favorite way to eat Parm. I got the pastichio special and it was really good. Very filling. My dinner came with dessert but I skipped it as I was full. They do accept credit cards to pay but they stress to leave tips in cash, although I think you can put it on card if you need to. read more

I'm already feeling ahead. I ordered a spinach salad and added red onions. The spinach was fresh and crisp. Overall my salad was tasty except for the mushrooms. They use canned mushrooms. I'm my opinion using canned mushrooms take away from the quality of the freshness of a great salad. This short cut is a deal breaker for me when it comes to ordering their spinach salad. I was able to taste my husband's shrimp scampi entree. It was a little bland but shrimp were a good size and tasty. My husband is taking it home to add some flavor while he watches the Eagles play tonight. Overall I like this diner, the service, cleanliness and food. Theyre one of the few places in the area open early enough for brunch and so I decided to go on a weekday around 10:30am. There was no wait to be seated. Service was great but food was mediocre. I got a roast beef sandwich and asked what was included in it she said just lettuce. I had to add cheese and tomatoes and it was extra. What kinda sandwich comes with nothing on it? It honestly tasted worse than the deli meat I buy at the supermarket so that was very disappointing. I also asked for Mayo on the side but they put it in my sandwich anyways. We have been frequenting that place for years, always ordering the same thing. However, on the night we visited, the owner seemed to have decided to be rude. The waiter got our order wrong and tried to correct it by bringing what we originally asked for. Unfortunately, our chicken breast was cold, so I requested it to be warmed up. When it was returned, it was burnt. To make matters worse, the waiter charged us for the wrong item and not what we actually ordered. When we tried to discuss this with the manager to fix the bill, he became irritated. Despite my fiancé paying the bill, the owner continued arguing with him over the waiter's mistake. The Patriarch and I stopped into the Springfield Diner after his eye exam appointment. He was grouchy hungry and we both love diners. The Springfield Diner is tucked away a bit from the street, with it's sign being most prominent from the road. The Patriarch is a retired Bell employee who remembers having lunch there many times when out doing his work. The parking is pretty easy, and the diner itself inside is clearly renovated recently. It's gorgeous with lots of different lighting, tile, patterns and colors. We were seated promptly in the 'back room' away from the counter service area. Our server came promptly and did a great job managing our table - orders, drink refills, cheerful banter with a grouchy Senior Citizen, handling flirtatious behavior from a no-longer-grouchy Senior Citizen. The Patriarch got a big caesar salad and I got the chicken parmesan - my bellwether dish. Both were...fine. Nothing exciting. Just fine. Gravy was a wee bit sweet, caesar was missing that sharp zing from well aged cheese. It's clean, beautiful, and the service was both fast and friendly.
