Just went here on a whim with a friend for dinner and pretty sure I've been here before for a group breakfast. We were seated right away on a Wed around 7pm. Service was excellent. I ordered the lasagna, which was good. It came with a salad, which was very good and fresh. My friend had the reuben, which came with fries and enjoyed it. Was in town for a baseball tournament with limited time to eat, stopped here for a quick bite. Yes it is an older diner but it was kind of a nice nostalgic feeling. The protocols they followed during the height of the COVID-19 event were very good. Thereafter, when Covid was a little more under control they still employ safe standards. We had a party for 30 people at 2pm last Wednesday. We scheduled a few days in advance. We were able to select from 3 small platters and 2 types of sandwiches for the group. We chose the Chicken Parmigiana, Broiled Flounder, Crab Cake platters, and for the sandwiches we selected Cheese Steaks and Turkey Wraps. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty. The soups and the Greek salad are fabulous! The small platters were not small at all and the service was Top-Notch!! The menu is gigantic and if you come with a couple of friends there is plenty to choose from on the menu so no one will be disappointed. We've eaten at the Aston Diner many times and have always been pleased with the consistent friendly service and great food. read more

So-so food! Great service! A met a few friends here for breakfast and was not terribly impressed. Our table was so close to the next table that I bumped knees several times with my neighbor. I got the cheesesteak, $9.05. It comes with french fries and coleslaw. I loved my roll. Nice soft roll with a decent little crust on it. In my pictures you can see there's not much meat. The meat that was there had a good meat flavor. Not much cheese and it was not melted through the meat. I went into Aston Diner this morning for the first time ever because a friend of my recommended them. I have to stay the lady at the register with blond hair, older woman, was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a restaurant. I didn't know where to go to pick up my food and she rolled her eyes at me. after paying she told me my food was behind me, she couldn't even hand me my order, on top of that she didn't even say "Thank you." This was not a pleasant experience and I will never be back to an establishment that has employees who treat their customers like they are doing "Us" a favor. Wow is all I have to say! read more

All of our food was good, service was pretty fast, with one exception. It was Prime rib night. I got the prime rib, ordered medium as no decent steak should ever be cooked well done. The Prime was thin and I knew as soon as I saw it, that it was well done, which on a good piece of meat isnt the end of the world. But this wasnt a good quality cut of meat. It was obviously precut and cooked medium then reheated, because it had no marbling and the fat was hard and chewy, it had the consistency of rubber, and no flavor like a boiled steak. I would have returned it but we already had to send back the quesadilla that was supposed to be just cheese but came with peppers and onions. Just another generic diner in the Delco area. It's a great place to go for a quick eat and simple diner food, but it's nothing too extraordinary. The coffee is generic and the service fills up the coffee quick. I ordered 2 eggs over easy with corned beef hash, home fries with onions and cheese, rye toast, and a side of sausage. The eggs did come out over easy (yay!), but the corned beef hash was bland. The potatoes were also really bland (would rather have hash browns....why don't you have hash browns on the menu?!?) even with onions and cheese. The sausage was also bland and slightly over burnt. This is my wife and I favorite diner in the area to the point we tell everyone about it, now her parents love to come out to Aston to eat there. I enjoy some of the dinner items including the Buffalo wings but the breakfast is the standout. You can get one order of French toast and share it between two people or get your own waffles. You get a good portion of sides but I enjoy the bacon and the home fries. Check it out when you get a chance. read more

This was an unexpected stop for us last Sunday morning. The service was excellent and right on time. What struck us as awesome was the staff waiting in the center of the diner waiting to help the customers. Usually staff just disappears after the food is brought. Not the case this time. Food was pretty decent too. The bacon was just a little over cooked but not enough to ding a star. The portions were plentiful and tasty. This diner is easy to get to while we're out and about but the food is just average. We ordered appetizers, burgers, pasta, and salads. The best part was the soup, but who messes up soup? Pasta sauce was thick and actually coated the pasta which was decent. The burgers were extra greasy which I was not a fan of and we had to wait an unusual amount of time for drink refills. This diner is my late night hot-spot, especially if I happen to be visiting my friend who lives over in Springfield. We found Aston after a failed trip to Barnaby's of Aston and wanted some breakfast food. Lo and behold, a 24hr diner nearby! They have a full menu from breakfast food to dinner and it usually comes out pretty quick. The overnight manager is very nice and makes his rounds checking on all of his customers and he always thanks me for driving all the way from KOP. If I come on Sunday nights (midnight or later), he even puts on Walking Dead for me and we watch the show together. If you're looking for a 24hr diner, it's definitely a decent place to come! read more

Ugh not a big fan of this place. We stopped in a bit after midnight yesterday once we landed. The service was just okay, the waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed being the only server. I started with the French onion soup, it lacked some serious flavor! Wasn't ever worth eating. The onions were still hard. My wife got a grilled cheese, again just okay. Nothing to write home about. I ordered a BLT, again not great. My toast was burnt and the bacon was crumbled, on a BLT! Unacceptable! The bacon was also very cold, which is another thing I absolutely hate. The only plus were the fries. I love me some steak fries. Very good. My sister in law orders a slice of cheesecake, again she said it was boring and lacked flavor. She ordered a side of blueberry to top it but she said it was overly sweet and right out of a can. This was disappointing considering they are open 24/7 and have a decent reputation. Been there 4 times. A step above average diner fare. Not cheap, but not overpriced either. Coffee is just okay, tasted watery and not much flavor there for those who like it black. French toast was burnt 3/3 times ordered but they are getting better. If you live in the area I highly recommend going and trying their version of Canadian bacon with your order. They also have good milkshakes. If you shop at the Aston Giant there is a 15% off coupon they've been running for over a year. They have a new CC machine that makes checking out a breeze. WARNING FOR EPILEPTICS! The Aston Diner has food that is forgettable and the service is average. The reason for the low rating is the lights that hang above all the booths. They all flicker! And not intentionally! From the minute we were seated until we left I was enormously distracted by the light above my head flickering constantly. I mentioned it to our server and she matter of factly said Yes it's flickering. Don't even try to eat here if this kind of thing bothers you. What I could not deal with the "rush job" we got from our waitress. Ordered soup and salad for first course. Wasn't even 1/3 of the way through the hot soup and out she comes with the entrees. Sent them back to keep warm so we could finish. Kept checking on us and not even 1/2 way through the dinner and she was ready to take desert order and bring check. Not a fan of the rush job.
