Came here for the first time on an early Sunday morning. Service was exceedingly friendly and professional. We were immediately thanked by waitstaff for stopping by, and made to feel welcome over the course of our meal. Menus for both breakfast and lunch had a wide array of options. Coffee was great. Had a basic breakfast which included a really delicious multigrain toast. Eggs over easy and potatoes were cooked to perfection. Importantly, everything was served nice and warm! We had a delicious brunch here. Eggs Benedict were well on point. My husband had a Taylor Pork Roll omelette that he devoured. The star of our brunch was the corn muffin waffle!! Everything for the most part was 10/10. The service and the food was great. The eggs Benedict was very good. My grandma really enjoyed her mushroom omelette as well. My fave was the biscuit with honey butter. The sweet potato fries were excellent too! The only negative was the older woman hostess wasn't particularly welcoming. Second time here first time I gave a glowing review this time not so much. Maybe because it was a weekend and the place was busier food took a while. I don't usually complain about that because I know how hard it is to stay. Last time I got their wonderful s'mores French toast. Try if you can and my companion got some of their special bunnies. Nice touch. This time I went simple and got a breakfast sandwich, egg scrapple (yeah I know gross but... ) And when the food finally came, the eggs were burnt brown. I complained after since didn't have time to wait again and the waitress said I could've asked them to be redone. I shouldn't have to. No one should actually throw an egg that brown on a plat, so brown it looked like my toast. Also got a blueberry lemon muffin, which is more like a muffin top, but that too had a brown brown top. Taste a good regardless, but it would've been a special treat if it wasn't overcooked. May try again since it's local but would not go out of my way read more

Horrible place but the jokes on her I crapped myself on the way home and in her brand new Jeep Rubicon she bought from David Dodge three days ago. Had a great breakfast at Morningside with my daughter this morning! She had been telling me about it for awhile and I woke up hungry so today was finally the day. She had a veggie omelet with sharp cheddar and I had the short rib omelet with caramelized onions and cheese (no mushrooms for me!). They were both very good and the potatoes were yummy. The multigrain toast was also quite good. The restaurant itself is bright and comfortable with nice decor and the staff was great. Loved it and will definitely be going again soon! read more

First time at Morningside Cafe this afternoon, what a total home run. Brioche French toast was some of the best you can get around, great flavor, could be cut with a fork - served with a healthy portion of whipped butter on this side. Eggs were perfectly cooked, Cream Chipped Beef was uniquely prepared and delicious, and the home fries were also loaded with flavor. Even the bacon used here was a standout. Pricing and portion amount was spot on, especially for this economy. Don't skip it! read more

Our family is in town for a 90th birthday party for our family member & we stopped here for breakfast before the party. Absolutely delicious- the omelet special, banana roster French toast, avocado toast, eggs and bacon were all amazing! You must check this breakfast restaurant out! I gave this rating because the waitresses were fantastic. The food is mediocre. If only the waitresses could cook. The specials were not special. We went here three times over the summer to give the place a fair chance. We even told some friends about it. Every time we went the 'special ' omelette was goat cheese, tomatoes, and corn, which I ordered on the first visit. Once was enough. One of our friends also went and ordered the 'special.' They agreed it wasn't that special. There is zero ambiance. They've taken minimalism to a whole new level. There was NOTHING on the walls...okay, maybe one thing? The walls are stark white. Parking was fine at breakfast. I'm not sure how good it would be if the pizza parlor next door was open. Seating and configuration was okay. The chairs are slippery on the floors so be careful if you bend over to pick something up if you are top heavy. Watch children carefully. I saw one kid almost flip over. read more

Thought I'd give this place a try this am was waiting on a friend who was ten minutes away I had arrived early and was told I'd couldn't get a table until my party arrived. The food was better than I thought it would be. I ordered an omelette with a biscuit and a side of bacon. Hubby had chipped beef on toast. And we shared a pancake. Bacon was thick cut, flavorful and crispy but still chewy. The pancake was EXCELLENT! Everything was well-cooked. Even the chipped beef was made from scratch and tasty. The only thing less than tasty was the potatoes that come with a meal - pretty bland but we didn't care about that. We really enjoyed our meals. Highly recommend. read more

This is a wonderful cafe for breakfast and lunch. We had breakfast here for the first time this morning and we are very happy with our choice. As soon as we walked in the vibe was welcoming and comfortable. The hostess greeted us with a smile and our waitress was just perfect as she could be. The eggs and link sausage with english muffin and spiced herbal tea were so good. My husband had an omelette he enjoyed. Not to forget the potatoes, that were spot on. If you go I'd recommend homemade honey biscuit with cinnamon butter! Overall I'd give this place 5/5 stars. Welcoming, clean, tasty. What a great way to start this beautiful day read more

My husband and I have been twice now to Morningside Café, and on both occasions, we were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the breakfast items served to us. Everything is great - whether it's specialty pancakes, the breakfast sandwiches that are flavorful and plentiful, or the coffee/hot chocolate. They got all of my orders wrong and they did not fix it at all. It was so incredibly disappointing, as I feel the food had potential. The servers had no idea what was going on at all times. In addition, when we politely explained to them that the servers got our orders completely mixed up, they denied it and blamed it on us. They said that we "grabbed the food and claimed it for ourselves" when they were clearly were the ones to get our orders wrong. At the end of our visit at the restaurant, we decided to use the restrooms, that were located in a hallway away from traffic. We then were rudely scolded that we were"taking up and clogging the hallways". We were not taking up any space, were quiet, and respectful. Overall, horrible service and I would 100% not recommend. read more

On my 3rd trip in a week, 2 breakfasts and a lunch I'd say food is good. Breakfast options more diverse than typical. Pricing is a bit inflexible which for me deters from service. The servers are proficient I guess but reminds you you're in Delco. No substitutions, if you only want 1 slice of toast, sure "that's what we bring", if you want to delete cheese and carmelized onions sure no problem. If you want a lil more spinach, "no that won't be a swap" is the brusk answer. 40 yrs in the restaurant biz, a little more spinach would cost you a lot less than the onions and cheese I asked to skip yet you chose to be rigid, rude in fact and NOT customer service friendly. Not even a "yea, I'm sorry, the owner doesn't allow substitutions". A little empathy toward the customer who is tipping you would've been the smarter move. Still, as I said being in the biz 40 yrs, every restaurant deserves another look. 3rd trip, lunch. The Beet Salad was delicious. Generous portion. Was enjoying it til I got to the not 1 or 2, but 4-5 pieces of not "wilted" as the server identified but I'd say it qualifies as rotting. I get it. Stuff comes in a bag. Probably came from your vendor that way. The person constructing the salad should always be careful using bagged pre-prepped produce esp greens mix for salad looking to make sure there aren't less than fresh pieces in the mix. When I told the server I don't want to eat it anymore.. no apology.. didn't take it right away but walked away. Maybe she had to ask management what to do when a customer is served a salad with rotten greens. By the way, when you the restaurant makes a mistake, the customer isn't at fault. They aren't being a jerk because they don't want to finish eating a salad with rotten greens in it. Guess they didn't hire any servers with empathy or train them in how to respond when there's a question or issue. I'd give the food a solid 8.5-9. Menu. Prices ok. Love the bright airy space. Servers are fairly quick as the place was packed 2 of the 3 times I went. As busy as you are, you probably don't care if not prefer I don't return. Morningside has great promise. I hope these fairly minor issues improve because its a great spot for a cafe just like this. read more
