Chicken cheese steaks are phenomenal too! The place is clean and efficient. Their Italian hoagie is pretty good as well. Last time I was a bit disappointed at my 1st time trying the "Delco Nostra" hoagie. It didn't have a lot of meat on it and was very salty (dry cured meats used) but I guess that should be expected. I would like to suggest to management that to be more authenticate and appetizing looking (& of course for what they are charging) they would use sliced red onions on the hoagies and not the same diced white onions used for the grill. They also make a mess when they fall out of the hoagie and all over your clothes while eating. At a pricey $8, the onion rings are mostly fried cornmeal. They need to switch to a higher quality beer batter onion ring instead if they are going to ask this price. The occasionally offered Maryland Crab soup has very little crab or taste IMHO. Overall, a great place for steaks!

Tucked away in the Painters Crossing shopping center, it's a place where the portion sizes are legendary and the authentic flavor of the region is built into every bite. While the "Delco" name is found elsewhere, this specific Chadds Ford location opened in 2006 and has spent nearly two decades perfecting the art of the massive sandwich. It's a classic, no-nonsense counter-service joint where the focus is entirely on the quality of the build--starting with the bread. They don't just win local popularity contests; they are consistently ranked among the top tier in the entire Delaware Valley, earning "Best of" accolades for their commitment to traditional techniques. The Cheesesteaks: These are frequently cited as the largest cheesesteaks in Delaware County. They use a mountain of finely chopped, high-quality ribeye and, most importantly, they serve them on seeded rolls (often sourced from legendary South Philly bakeries like Sarcone's). The combination of the crispy, sesame-studded crust and the gooey Cooper Sharp cheese is widely considered a "best-in-class" experience. The Hoagies: Their hoagies are built with the same reverence for tradition. The Italian hoagie is a standout, featuring thin-sliced premium meats and fresh produce. The "Large" is essentially the size of a human forearm--definitely enough for two meals (or one very ambitious lunch). If you're in the Brandywine Valley and want an authentic, award-winning meal, this is the place to go.

I see why my first rating was a 4 on the turkey, it's good but not blowing faces. To be fair, you gotta have awfully good fixins to take a turkey to a 5 count. You want to see it but it ain't easy not being cheesy. Kovacs got good fixins but it's deli style fixins, they're not going to the county fair tryna win medals. Kovacs does come correct on the bread which is such an obvious miss for many in the area. Nice soft airy hoagie roll like ya like it. The Italian though is the winner. The meat to sandwich ratio is elite, and the meats themselves were top top. I honestly didn't take time to pinpoint what about the meats were so good cause I straight inhaled this hoagie. Needless to say I'm coming back. Thus far best hoagie in the locale for sure.

Hidden gem in Media!…read more While it looks like your average corner store from the outside, once you walk in, you are met with incredible energy from the owner and a special deli selection that is sure to meet anyone's standards. In any day, you can expect an assortment of breakfast sandwiches, all on a long roll (personally my favorite way to eat a breakfast sandwich,) and beyond that, he has a great meet and cheese deli selection. He doesn't skimp on portions, and it's really affordable. I've been enjoying a Buffalo chicken hoagie, with the works! You may be surprised to find out that he is slinging meatball subs too, which he claims to be the crowd pleasure. After trying it for the first time, I can certainly see why. Healthy layers of cheese and you can tell he puts in time and thoughtfulness to his sauce and meatball recipes. If you are looking for any drinks or snacks to compliment the sandwich, he has aisles packed out with a number of options. Beyond the food itself, you'll remember the owner. Kind and funny!

Stopped into Wolf's Superior Sandwiches while on a road trip and I really wanted to love this place…read morebecause the menu is creative and the vibe is promising. Unfortunately, the experience was kind of a mixed bag. I stopped in on Mother's Day and they were really overwhelmed. I'm keeping that in mind for this review. While still giving my experience and feedback. I had ordered ahead but still ended up waiting 40 minutes past my pickup time. That would have been more understandable if the food came out hot and fresh, but the fries had clearly been made earlier and left to the side, so they were cold by the time I got them. You know those sad limp fries that should've been amazing? Yeah, those. There were three young ladies behind the counter, each seemingly working their own station but at completely different paces. It caused a bit of a bottleneck where food was just sitting while one person tried to catch up. The phone was ringing nonstop and there wasn't a clear sense of urgency. One staff member kept stopping to text mid sandwich, which, hey, we all have lives, but it really disrupted the flow and made everything slower. If something was going on, communication with the team would've gone a long way. As for the food: My steak sandwich had zero seasoning. I mean none. The only flavor came from the peppers on it. Two hours later, after reheating it in the air fryer and adding salt and pepper, it was decent. My husband had a cold sandwich and enjoyed his more, so I'm guessing results may vary depending on what you order. I didn't rate the service too harshly because it was clear the staff was overwhelmed, not rude. They barely had time to offer a smile, let alone conversation. Still, I gave this spot 4 stars because I see the potential. The menu looks genuinely interesting, the space is nice, and I imagine on a slower day with tighter processes they probably put out some fantastic sandwiches. I'd definitely be willing to give them another try, but next time I'll show up with extra patience and maybe a backup snack just in case.

This very morning he stepped into Van Horn's, secured two hoagies "to travel," boarded the flight from Philadelphia, and upon landing handed one to his waiting son as fare for the ride home. It feeds with equal care the souls who never left, the faithful and the wanderers who departed yet return whenever the heart grows heavy. I ordered the Satchmo, a buffalo chicken, Italian hoagie, ham hoagie, 4 chicken tenders and fries which came to a grand total of $85. Phew. This was my first time here, but I've heard the food and cheese steaks were great so I was ok with things at this point. I placed my order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes. I came in around the 20ish minute mark and waited for 25 more minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting with me. I did see 3-4 other people come in pickup and leave while I waited, but it wasn't busy by standards. While waiting is when I when I observed how unorganized and dis shoveled the staff were. The lady upfront was kind, attentive, and seemed to be running the show putting orders together. But, when she asked for help she didn't get any. She asked another staff member to help bag a specific sandwich for an order, several times, and it went in the guys ear and right out the other. I could also hear them scrambling in the back working on my order, and complaining about how many Italian hoagie orders came in right at the same time. Maybe they were behind, maybe they accidentally let mine go with a different order? This is all speculation but they were definitely overwhelmed and it shouldn't have taken that long for my order. The cheese steaks were good, and the Italian hoagie was very hearty! They do not skimp on meat, but the hoagie bread was so hard most of it was thrown away. I don't care for shredded gums. Overall, not a good first time experience. Minus a star for the price, minus a star for the delayed pickup time, and minus 1/2 for the rock hard Italian hoagie bread. The steaks were good but everything else outweighed the food quality.
