Spur of the moment choice. Always like trying new BBQ spots. This place was unique. I am giving it middle of the road because it was half decent but also missed the mark. Chicken was super moist and the sauce was really nice. The kinda flop was the loaded fries. Amazing proportion. Looked amazing. Way too much sauce and seasoning. Drowned the food and the seasoning conflicted with each other. Beer cheese was thin and lacked flavor. Fries looked like they were refried and burnt. They are the OG bbq players of Delco. I will take them over that other "Big" bbq place by a country mile. The staff are good. The location is spacious and clean. Most days they have plenty on the menu. Except the burnt ends! Get there early because they run out fast. My only issue was the fries. They were a little over cooked & I expected WAY more from that cheese sauce. But I'll eat there AGAIN. Give them a try. read more

Different Cheesesteak-Esque sandwich (#1199). My concern for brisket cheesesteaks has taken another turn. The seating area is fun and BBQ-themed. The young woman at the counter was very helpful. She recommended the baked beans and they were pretty darn tasty. I got the brisket cheesesteak. The brisket was sliced thin like traditional cheesesteak meat. Normal with brisket cheesesteaks I complain that the 'other stuff' (cheese, fried onions) take away from the brisket. This cheesesteak needed more of the 'other stuff.' Cheese was almost non-exsistent. BBQ was vinegary and mostly on the wrapper. I got pickles on it at the recommendation of the young woman at the counter. The few I tasted added greatly to the cheesesteak. I put my baked beans on my cheesesteak and that was awesome! A brisket cheesesteak with the baked bean sauce would be amazing!! PS I ate at 2SP. I arrived on a Sunday at almost 2 PM and was surprised to find this place empty. It was easy to find parking in the lot as it is located in a mini shopping plaza. The cashier was pleasant and let us know that we order at the counter, but can bring menus to a table while we decide on our order. One of the best pork ribs I've ever had! I love the tangy sauce and the portions. I could only finish half of the 1/2 slab platter. I had originally wanted the Slice Beef Brisket Sandwich but they were sold out, so that must be something to try. Note that the white bread that comes with the platters is literally just white bread. I think it would be great if that was replaced with something else...cornbread maybe? They also do not have tap water, just bottled water for sale. I would also like to suggest using more environmentally friendly plate options instead of Styrofoam. However, I would come back to try other dishes if I lived close by. read more

They hooked it up! I'm taking this place over Mission BBQ all day. Chicken was juicy and the sauce is not too much like some other bbq sauces. Sides don't steal the show, they compliment the protein. Would recommend both the fries and the collard greens, really enjoyed the greens. read more

The place smells of smoke, and they definitely use real wood in their gas assist smoker, but the food could use a bit more. The brisket had been held a little too long for my liking but the bark was great. The pork ribs were the standout of our meal with the collards coming in a close second. The loaded fries were more than enough for 4 people so be warned! All the kids devoured them. One of our crew had the smoked meatloaf and raved about it. They dont have free tap water and insist you buy their bottled which is a bummer, but not a deal breaker. The service is to be commended as it was excellent although bring some cash for the tip because there isnt a line for it on the bill. read more

My daughter and I recently tried this place out, as I had been wanting to try it since they opened a few years back. We shared a 3 meat combo (ribs, chicken, and pulled pork) that came with two sides (beans and mac and cheese). We also ordered some slaw, macaroni salad, and jalapeno cornbread. I have to say the ribs and the beans were my favorite - the ribs had a nice flavor and were cooked just right, and the beans (which are never my favorite), had just the right amount of tang and sweetness - they put celery seeds in their beans which really seemed to work - I'm going to give that a try at home. The chicken, mac and cheese, and slaw were also pretty tasty. The pork seemed a bit vinegary to me, so that wasn't my favorite. I could have used some BBQ sauce, but in looking at the reviews afterwards, I think you have to buy that separate. The mac salad was okay but that also seemed a little vinegary to me. The jalapeno cornbread was too sweet for me and I didn't get any hint of heat - being from the South, I prefer non-sweet cornbread and I can handle some heat. Overall, it was pretty good. Next time, I want to try the brisket and burnt ends, and their BBQ sauce. read more

I made my choice to try some barbecue based on good reviews. I decided to try the burnt ends. The name seems to construe some dried up excess leftover meat. But that is far from the truth. This is beef brisket in chunks that is perfectly barbecued, moist and succulent. It has a delicious slightly smoky tender crust. I chose them because it sounded unique and got a lot of thumbs-up from other reviewers. I got a side of the baked beans. This is actually three different beans in a delightful tomato based sauce that has some pulled pork in it. I also got the plain corn bread muffin. (they make a cornbread muffin with jalapeño in it as well). It was very moist, firm and tasty. Everything is a la carte. It's a bit pricey but It is good quality food. This establishment is in a strip mall. I would have given them five stars but there is very little ambience inside. It's a bit dark and dank and although it wasn't dirty it gives the impression that it is old. The young girl behind the counter was pleasant and my order came out in less than six minutes. I came mid afternoon and there were no other patrons in the restaurant. I highly recommend the burnt ends, corn bread and baked beans. When I am in the area again I may sample other choices from the menu. read more

Miracles do exist! I travel the country and lived on the East Coast, Upper Midwest and the South. I have learned to love barbecue! I love my Texas brisket, my Carolina mustard sauces and my Kansas sweet savory bbq sauces slathered on my ribs. What a fabulous country we live in... regions of our country have developed their own barbecue styles and tastes. Not only do I enjoy traveling and experiencing the different bbq styles and flavors, but I've become a well thought of pit master myself. I emulate the different styles of bbq. I try different wood species from apple, cherry, hickory, pecan, oak to the regional cooking styles and variety of bbq sauces. I don't think of Philadelphia as a bbq Mecca and most likely never will. However as I said from the first words "Miracles do exist"! Today's miracle was a local bbq joint outside of Philly/Upland, PA. I came across Big Bad Wolf by happenstance. And I'm so glad I did. I ordered 1/2 rib platter with two sides and a soda. $21. Bargain price for what I received for my lunch. First, St. Louis style ribs. Cooked to a perfect bite. I like to say Al dente. The pork ribs were cooked perfect. If you like the crap ribs at Applebee's that falls off the bone like mush, then you don' t know true bbq style. Second, good smoke ring. Third, not an over powering of smoke. My guess is the wood species they smoke is mix of fruit woods. The BBW's sauce was outstanding! It is sweet, savory, with a touch of heat. You actually taste the tomato paste, vinegar, honey, brown sugar and capsaicin (heat from chili). I also loved their perfection incorporating celery seed/salt into the sauce! Wow!!! This is one of the best bbq ribs I have had ever. The two sides I ordered were smoked baked beans and Mac&cheese. BBW's baked beans would make a Texan cowboy and girl cry! Three types of beans, huge chucks of bbq pork and red onion swimming in sauce perfection. Their M&C was very good, but I am no way a critic of M&C, so I won't start now. Will I be back? This place is good! We stopped on a whim on the way to a party. This place is easy to pass and is tucked away in a strip mall. I had some hesitation upon arrival but the food made up for it. They offer a small seating area both picnic benches and high tops. My wife ordered the brisket with Mac and cheese and cole slaw. I went with the 2 meat combo burnt ends and ribs, same sides. I'll start with the sides. The cole slaw is delicious. It was fresh and creamy. The acidity was spot on as well. The Mac and cheese on the other hand was a huge disappointment. It wasn't very good and tasted like something from a TV dinner. Mine was also cold. They sell cornbread pre wrapped and it's not included with the meal. That was a bummer! Most Bbq places give cornbread. We bought some and it was good. The meats on the other had were much better. The ribs were fantastic! They fell off the bone and were seasoned just perfect! I would go back just for the ribs. The brisket was also very good, it was moist and delicious. The burnt ends while good we're extremely salty for my liking.
