    Cheese Steak
    Rae W.

I planned to grab dinner from Jackson Street Steaks based on the recommendation of a friend. When we walked in, the counter for ordering was right there and we were able to browse the menu and put an order in nice and quickly. The area by the counter was a bit cramped, so we moved over to stand around the seating area while we waited. It only took about 10 minutes for the food to come out. Considering this was around dinner time, not too shabby. We took our food to go, and enjoyed it at home. Everything was packed up nicely and smelled amazing. The side of fries was cooked to perfection. The cheese steak I ordered with mayo on the roll was still a bit dry on the inside. All the cheese was on the outside of the meat, so I'd have preferred either a bit more mayo, or a more mixed steak. But still delicious. My dining companion said the same thing about her chicken cheese steak.

Steak is great quality. Beer is good quality but you cannot get a can to take out apparently. You have seeded roll or regular and I went with seeded. You can order by kiosk but need to specify beforehand if you want your Toast points. They do not currently have mushrooms for an add-on. This place probably replaced the restaurant House which was okay to me but it was a particularly nice place for some. Staff is friendly and environment has good lighting and nice white furnishings. I went on its second day of opening- so things could definitely change.

Very clean restaurant in the heart of Media at the old House location. Ordered from them 2x's now. The Steak is perfect. The creaminess of the cooper sharp mixed in with the well seasoned beef and the fried onions. The seeded roll helps make the perfect sandwich. The staff is very accommodating. Will be back again and very happy they are in the neighborhood. Can't wait til the weather gets warmer and we walk up from work for lunch.

The bar has a good mix of sports being broadcast on TVs. I could watch live hockey, basketball and baseball easily. It's a solid place to grab some comfort food and drinks. The fish & chips plate is respectable; has 3 good-sized fillets with a nice rémoulade sauce. I found the caesar salad to be decent and when requested that dressing and cheese come on the side, it was no problem. The famous kennett square mushroom soup is too intense. Strong portobello mushrooms dominate and concentrated truffle oil only increases this, doesn't offer any counterbalance. Staffers are friendly.

The only thing that really WOWED me was the butter that came with the croissant. I can eat that whole thing by itself. Very creamy with a hint of zest. Yum! As far as the croissants was concerned, some tasted like it was stale. The pork schnitzel (4/5) entrée was pretty good. I didn't care for the sausage and gravy topping though. Would've been better without it. Anyway, the mashed potatoes were creamy, buttery, and airy. The greens were garlicky and kind of salty. Grilled chicken Caesar (2.5/5) salad was okay. The dressing lacked in a lot of ways. More citrusy and less saltiness from anchovies. The mushroom bisque was a little grainy. Would I care for coming back? Maybe. Not anytime soon though.

Great flavor & creative plating. Pricey, like everything else on the menu. ***It cost $15 for a Paper Plane in a rocks glass. 2.25oz of alcohol for $15, served incorrectly, kinda stung. The average cost of a cocktail from the menu was around $18, so I guess I made out like a bandit. ****Another classy, imaginative interior marred by a neon sign. The rest of Two Fourteen was beautiful & sultry. The neon sign had a cheapening effect. I felt almost mocked by the bright pink sign that spelt out "good vibes only." Again, I think the prices are making me a bit resentful. I can admit to that. I don't think I'd return to Two Fourteen again if I was in the area, but can see the appeal if I lived in Media.
