I always want to support a business in my hometown. I was excited at the idea of this place being as great as reviews claimed, but my experience (after $64) was not at all what Yelp reviews led me to expect. First, after one taste years ago, I will never put a batter-dipped fry in my mouth. This foodstuff creation of reconstituted potato, cornstarch, flour, and God knows what else, is an insult to foodkind, and to customers. My husband read reviews raving about the fries and assumed a place making "craft" type sandwiches would have handcut fresh real potato fries. No! So about $15 wasted there. I'm sorry to say the cheesesteaks were overwhelmed by cheese, and I could barely taste the roll, while the meat was texture rather than flavor. So disappointing. I was extremely hungry after a long day and not ready to jump up and cook an alternative dinner after $64 in takeout that reviews promised would be great. I honestly could not stomach this thing because it had like 1/2 lb cheese on it. The American (we ordered the old standard which I'd hope would be flawless) was so consuming of the meat it was one big goopball. I honestly cannot rate the meat because it was that overpowered by cheese. And sorry to go on but there's more! This American was not great quality. It was a bit elastic, certainly in its goop-factor, like the blob when it congealed with the meat. I can feel it sticking to my insides. Could not finish it, was desperately hungry but did not want to finish that. I was honestly insulted that this was served to me as sustenance. It was super junky, The egg rolls? Got cajoled into those from reviews too. Just like the cheesesteaks, exact same taste except soggy in the plastic-lined container by the time it got home (need vents for that steam). Just so disappointing to spend that much for what we got and not even want to (nor physically be able to) finish eating it. I'd be more generous with pity stars or you're-in-Media-so-here's-an-extra-star if they hadn't cost so ridiculously much for just 2 takeout street food meals. Delicious moist juicy Steak with loads of savory Cooper Sharp on a fresh pillowy soft roll that has some chew. I like the bread but it's not what I'm used to for a Philly sub, not that it's bad, just different. The chopped onions are squarish. The steak filling is perfectly seasoned with personalized add-ons of desired. Reasonably priced for the amount of steak and bread. The atmosphere is very chic for a Steak sub place - clean, bright, modern. This place serves beer on tap and milkshakes. For those who enjoy those beverages with their Cheese steak, I imagine it would raise the value of this place. For me, I think this place is good maybe great... We do enjoy a steak sandwich every now and then so me and my dining partner thought we'd give them a try. The menu is decent with the usual suspects plus some wild cards should you choose to try something different. We both opted to try the Brie and spinach cheese steak. I asked them to plate mine since I'm gluten free--which they gladly did. The steak itself was tender, the spinach was fresh, and the brie was nicely melted throughout. The fries were seasoned well and crispy although I think a bit over cooked. They do have beer and wine in addition to non-alcoholic beverages from the cooler. The interior is clean and modern looking with a nice mix of tables and counter space all with truly comfortable (padded) chairs. Finally the staff is super friendly. If you like steak. I planned to grab dinner from Jackson Street Steaks based on the recommendation of a friend. When we walked in, the counter for ordering was right there and we were able to browse the menu and put an order in nice and quickly. The area by the counter was a bit cramped, so we moved over to stand around the seating area while we waited. It only took about 10 minutes for the food to come out. Considering this was around dinner time, not too shabby. We took our food to go, and enjoyed it at home. Everything was packed up nicely and smelled amazing. The side of fries was cooked to perfection. The cheese steak I ordered with mayo on the roll was still a bit dry on the inside. All the cheese was on the outside of the meat, so I'd have preferred either a bit more mayo, or a more mixed steak. But still delicious. Steak is great quality. Beer is good quality but you cannot get a can to take out apparently. You have seeded roll or regular and I went with seeded. You can order by kiosk but need to specify beforehand if you want your Toast points. They do not currently have mushrooms for an add-on. This place probably replaced the restaurant House which was okay to me but it was a particularly nice place for some. Staff is friendly and environment has good lighting and nice white furnishings. I went on its second day of opening- so things could definitely change. read more

Very clean restaurant in the heart of Media at the old House location. Ordered from them 2x's now. The Steak is perfect. The creaminess of the cooper sharp mixed in with the well seasoned beef and the fried onions. The seeded roll helps make the perfect sandwich. The staff is very accommodating. Will be back again and very happy they are in the neighborhood. Can't wait til the weather gets warmer and we walk up from work for lunch. read more

Hello, first experience! We got a chzsteak with fried onions and sweet n hot on the side. Bacon blue burger and he Parmesan truffle fries. The burger had great flavor wasn't greasy and was a good size. Will get again. The cheesesteak we went with the basic to test it :). We thought the roll was good the hoagie as a whole was packed with meat n sloppy cheese! It was lovely. It was a 12" roll. Will definately order another steak from them:) now for my 1 star: the parm truffle fries which cost $11. Ours looked like a sloppy 3rd grader threw them haphazardly in the container and whipped a half tablespoon of aioli on the top. The truffle oil was non existent, absolutely nooooo smell or flavor of truffle, and super greasy. So big waste of $ and a disappointment on the truffle parm fries. Won't try again. First visit to Jackson street steaks won't be my last. The place was clean which is critical. I got a cheesesteak with fried onions and fries.
