Inside of Brisket Mac Daddy - With Chips

Quality cooked meat here and nice chips but chips are too salty. I had the classic brisket mac sandwich. The mac and cheese was properly creamed and flavorful enough. The brisket was good and had a slight smoky flavor that I like. More smokiness flavor would have been good but then maybe that would've blackened more of the meat. A staffer was particularly nice and explained how their Thursday special was marinated/cooked twice to give it a certain flavor . It sounded real good but I really wanted something with the mac in it as a sandwich rather than strips of meat on this day. Staffer brought my food to me rather than called me and he didn't have to. Someone here is into board games as there are a few Pax Unplugged badges hanging on an appliance. One of the dine-in customers didn't seem to realize that this place is casual enough that you should pay before eating. It was a bit awkward to see that and they seemed to be hesitating to pay. I didn't stay to find out what happened with all that but geez! The entrance may be tricky to find if you are entering from the MacDade Blvd entrance. The plaza with acme is connected to Home Depot, and I believe Planet Fitness and Wendy's. Go toward Home Depot and make a right and look at the set of places on your right toward Morton Ave. and you will find this place. Good way to support a local business if you aren't vegetarian.

Today my husband and I were in the mood for chicken cheesesteaks, but we didn't feel like driving up norf for Maxx's. We searched Grubhub and stumbled upon Tanglewood Fire and Smoke of Folsom, PA. My husband was intrigued by a barbecue place that makes cheesesteaks and once we noticed that they smoke their chicken for the chicken cheesesteak, we were committed to try them out. We each ordered the Smoked Chicken Cheesesteak. It consisted of smoked, pulled chicken and a footlong roll with roasted tomato relish and chipotle queso, topped with fried chicken cracklins (fried chicken skins) and a side of house made pickles and chips. We also order two sides, my husband ordered the Buffalo Pig Bites which were crispy pork belly nuggets tossed in Buffalo sauce with a side of goat cheese ranch. I ordered a small Chipotle Mac & Cheese with the seasoned pork rinds on the side. We both agreed that the Smoked Chicken Cheesesteaks were pretty good. I was looking for the chicken to be a little more like chopped breast meat though I know that it was pulled meat but it was still very tasty. My husband was fond of the smokiness of the chicken and was glad it was not not overshadowed by the queso. I found the queso to be very rich and felt that it overshadowed the tomato relish till the point where the relish wasn't necessary. Overall just a solid cheesesteak. My husband thought the Buffalo Pork Bites were tasty and the goat cheese ranch sauce was a great complement. I thought the Mac & Cheese was just okay.

Different cheesesteak #1110 in the last five years. I got the Liberty Cheesesteak. I love their queso. I would put their queso on a lot of things. I liked the flavor of the brisket. The brisket was chopped up. I didn't like that. That may have been because it was on a cheesesteak. Nice seeded roll. I thought it was small, especially for $15. Something was salty. I liked the individual parts. I will be going back and trying the queso on different things. As a cheesesteak, no. Hot Dog, small amount of (chopped) brisket and good amount of queso on that seeded roll, could be genius.

Mac Dog and house made chips and pickles. Macaroni and cheese is homemade and so creamy.

Okay... I can officially say Tanglewood Fire & Smoke is my favorite BBQ spot in Delco. The Black & Blue Burger topped with Brisket burnt ends, blue marble jack cheese, and smoked onion mayo. the best burger I have eaten in such a long time. I inhaled it. Owner is a great guy and their team are all so friendly. They started serving delicious smoked kielbasa, and he gave us a sample to try. Absolutely delicious, and so juicy with that crispy snap on the outside. We also ordered the Mac Dog. A hefty all beef wiener topped with their homemade Mac and cheese. These people are BBQ experts for sure. I can't wait to return and try something new every time.

My car was getting work done at Nate McCall Auto Repair (most honest garage in the tri-state area, no lie) so I walked over to Tanglewood, They had good reviews so I thought id try it and I was very happy I did! Had the Classic Brisket Sandwich w their homemade chips (both really good) , plus the Asian Sticky Ribs... wow the ribs were gooooood!! Fall of the bone tender & delicious!! A must try!! Plus they have Stewarts Root beer! If you try the homemade chips, which you should, make sure to get one of their sauces to dip it in.

Great new spot in Delco for BBQ. They know what they are doing in the kitchen. Make sure you look at an updated menu before drooling about the past (brussel sprouts, wings, etc were on previous menus.). I've had the asian ribs, meat fell off the bone, flavor was bold and unique. The creole corn was covered in a tasty creamy sauce. The pickles tasted freshly made in a simple brine. Kielbasa is the best I've had in a while with crisp skin and smoky insides, I drowned my pieces in the gold n gritty mustard bbq sauce, my fav. I also had the brisket chili covered gliz..I mean hotdog, bangin! After all that savory, I needed something sweet and got the chocolate pudding pie thing from the beverage fridge, and I'm kinda craving it at this very moment....try everything, support local business, nice to have something tasty and not a chain.

Pig bites and half of the serving of street corn.

Stopped in for lunch with the family. I had the pig bites which were excellent. Comes with a dipping sauce and side of pickled veg which was a nice touch to cut the fat. My husband had the brisket which he liked very much. You get to choose the type of bbq sauce that it is served with. We also had the chips and Street corn. My 9 month old devoured some corn bread and the brisket and plain corn were 3 year old approved. Excited to come back and try one of their sandwiches. Need to come hungrier next time.

It was ok. Pulled pork was fine but the supposedly hot sauces had no heat at all. The potato salad was so salty that it was inedible.

On our way back from a trip to NC and up to MA, we decided to stop in Lancaster for some lunch and…read moreshopping. My husband and I looked for the best BBQ places in the area and landed on The BBQ Barn. A small and cute little barn sits in the corner of the plaza (on the right of Target). We ordered chicken and rib dinners with an extra pulled pork sandwich (we ordered way too much but needed to try it all!!). Dinner plates come with Cole slaw, a dinner roll, potatoes, and a whoopie pie. There is seating outside. We both agreed that the chicken may have been the best we have ever had. It was seasoned so well and perfectly cooked. The ribs came with bbq sauce on the side. There was a line, but service was quick and efficient. The grills are right in front and you can see the cooking happening! Inside the barn, I could see them rolling out fresh pretzels. They also had homemade root beer, which was very good! After we finished eating, I couldn't help but grab a vanilla ice cream cone to share with my dogs. They agree too, best soft serve ice cream we have ever had. Since getting home, we have already talked about how we need to plan a trip back to Lancaster to get more BBQ and explore the area a bit longer.

Drive to the Target just west of the American Music Theatre and head to the far east side of the Target, driving back around the side of the building and the restaurant will be on your right. Watch for small signs directing you to the BBQ Barn. Review: Very good pulled pork sandwiches with lots of meat for a very reasonable price. Full meal is a great deal that includes three small grilled red potatoes, a small coleslaw, roll, whoopie pie, and drink for $12.50-$14.00 depending on your meat and beverage choice. They sell "homemade" root beer that I tried and it was good and tasted like the original drove in A&W root beer except it lacked carbonation. We had a sandwich plus one full meal for about $20 and left a small tip. Note that this is a casual place with outdoor seating only, similar to a food truck. Thankfully the picnic table seating is mostly in the shade. I do recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner and noticed local Amish eating there while we had lunch. today.
