Paid $30 for a large chicken cheesesteak which is 24" long Approximately 8 inches of this sandwich didn't have any meat or cheese.. I would give this a 0 star rating if yelp would let me

I'm6'4 just look at how long that cheese stick was. I hate it all one sitting so good so so good.

Best cheesesteak I've ever had service was great delivery was fast loved it. Fries are pretty decent. Shakes are great.

Incredible!

Woahhhhh!!!! You GOTTA try this place!!! Orgasmic! The seeded bread is just soft and warm and amazing & I'm not even a bread person! I ordered the chicken cheesesteak, not expecting it to be this delicious! Instead of eating half now and half later, I couldn't resist I eat the whole damn thing in one sitting, and I don't regret it! I give 5 stars for taste, presentation, warmth, and tenderness! Amazing!

The roll is empty on both sides when we paid for extra meat. Also very sloppy. The roll is seeded when we asked for the non seeded roll.

We ordered chicken steaks and paid for the extra meat. The chicken steaks were skimpy, very salty and messy. We asked for the non seeded rolls but they gave us the seeded rolls anyway. We will not be ordering from this location again.

12" Classic Cheesesteak

I placed an order on DoorDash to my hotel for a classic cheesesteak with quite a few add-ons, nothing was missing, it was delivered to me quickly and was very good. Best cheesesteak I had while visiting and good value for your money in my opinion, as you can see it was very full! Will definitely order again the next time I'm in the area, thank you for the fantastic service!

Was very disappointed look at my actual photo of my steak vs the photo of what I hoped to get from the same location photo. Dry, overcooked, cheap portions of meat & cheese.i paid extra for peppers but barely got any. I was hoping for much better. There are better places in Ca. Where I live. Have tried 2 other cheesesteak places while still here on vacation and both were much better.

Solid steak in Delco, just wish it had a little more meat. I do like that the menu here includes other things like fries and wings.

I ordered with Uber eats. I have children so we canceled the order twice until we got the order correct. All the food was the same on each order so if it was made they could deliver it. I was charged for all three orders and only recieved one. Uber is telling me I canceled to late but that is not correct.

These chicken cheesesteaks are delicious and comforting. Lightly toasted hoagie rolls are filled with seasoned chicken, onions, and melty cheese. The fries was nice and crispy very flavorful. I will definitely order from here again.

Been looking for good cheesesteaks as Philly is rumored to have the best. Been looking for months but on my way back home to MD pulled off the road & found this place. Omg they were certified the best I've ever had in Philly. The bread tasted freshly baked & the steak was the real beef type as I've been searching for. I got the sharp cheese & good sweet peppers to die for! I was in bliss & ate the whole sub during my 2 hr drive. I will definitely be returning!

Cheesesteak and cheese fries

I was a little skeptical of this place because I never see any cars there when we drove by, but it was surprisingly busy when I went there. Let's get to the cheesesteak. It was packed and overflowing with meat. It was quite delicious. The cheese fries were also plentiful and delicious. My only complaint was that I thought it was a bit salty. Overall, it was a great experience but I would recommend calling in and ordering because I had to wait a bit for my order.

Van Horn's Steaks

Van Horn's Steaks

This very morning he stepped into Van Horn's, secured two hoagies "to travel," boarded the flight from Philadelphia, and upon landing handed one to his waiting son as fare for the ride home. Even after crossing the country by air, the sandwich remained a perfect echo of home. Van Horn's plays no favorites. It feeds with equal care the souls who never left, the faithful and the wanderers who departed yet return whenever the heart grows heavy. Whether one stayed rooted in Media or lived the same boyhood as our traveler with daily walks to Rose Tree Elementary, counter duty at Old Chester Steaks, the proud opening of Joycelyn's, and countless 1 dollar meals sustained by Tiny T's Just sayin....Van Horn's delivers the genuine article. No compromises. Only home. Unwrap after the long journey, eyeball a long Italian roll soft and firm enough to hold its treasures across 3000 miles. Sharp provolone meets paper-thin stacks of genoa, capicola and ham piled high in the old-fashioned way. Oil and vinegar mingle with the shredded lettuce, the tomatoes, the onions all offer their crisp bite. Not a trace of sogginess. One bite and the traveler is transported straight back to the corner where he belongs. This correspondent has sampled every worthy hoagie from Delaware, to Chester, to the Main Line, and yep even South Street. Van Horn's does more than serve sandwiches. It restores a man to the place he never truly left. For those who stayed and those who keep coming home, this establishment is, quite simply, Home. 19063 whether you never strayed or you are only now returning make the stop.

I ordered the Satchmo, a buffalo chicken, Italian hoagie, ham hoagie, 4 chicken tenders and fries which came to a grand total of $85. Phew. This was my first time here, but I've heard the food and cheese steaks were great so I was ok with things at this point. I placed my order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes. I came in around the 20ish minute mark and waited for 25 more minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting with me. I did see 3-4 other people come in pickup and leave while I waited, but it wasn't busy by standards. While waiting is when I when I observed how unorganized and dis shoveled the staff were. The lady upfront was kind, attentive, and seemed to be running the show putting orders together. But, when she asked for help she didn't get any. She asked another staff member to help bag a specific sandwich for an order, several times, and it went in the guys ear and right out the other. I could also hear them scrambling in the back working on my order, and complaining about how many Italian hoagie orders came in right at the same time. Maybe they were behind, maybe they accidentally let mine go with a different order? This is all speculation but they were definitely overwhelmed and it shouldn't have taken that long for my order. The cheese steaks were good, and the Italian hoagie was very hearty! They do not skimp on meat, but the hoagie bread was so hard most of it was thrown away. I don't care for shredded gums. Overall, not a good first time experience. Minus a star for the price, minus a star for the delayed pickup time, and minus 1/2 for the rock hard Italian hoagie bread. The steaks were good but everything else outweighed the food quality.

None of them deliver the same way they do, with perfect seeded bread, great quality meat, high quality cheeses, and everything perfectly stacked and squeezed so nothing falls apart. They also aren't the cheapest, but considering the menu prices I've seen lately for cheesesteaks and hoagies elsewhere, they are still on the softer side of the pocket, providing SO MUCH sandwich for the moderate price tag. Steering away from the Old Fashioned Italian is very hard for me because it is just so dang good. However, I have had many different things on their menu, essentially running all the way through the hoagie list, trying their cheesesteak the way I like it prepared, boneless wings, salads, etc. and nothing I have had has ever been disappointing. Never cold, but I have never had delivery. I am someone who generally will prefer to pick up their own food, simply because I'm usually out and about anyway, and you can never account for who is delivering your food, or what happens between the time it leaves and when it gets to you. Although, I have heard their delivery is legendary for being quite quick. In my many travels here, I have had the opportunity to sit down and eat, and the space is pretty typical for a sandwich spot in Delco. No frills, but why should you need them when all you're looking for is a delicious sandwich that will fill you up and make you smile and want to take a nap afterward. The rotating cast of characters behind the counter are generally the same four or five people I usually see, and they're all generally nice; I have never had a bad experience or bad encounter, but it is the kind of classic place where you are expected to get your order over with and keep it moving, whether that be in person or over the phone. Some people may be bothered by that, but that's a general feature of living in the Philadelphia area, and if you're not used to it yet, you're likely not from here, or simply not adjusted to it yet.....you will eventually. Besides, everything here is worth it, and this should definitely be your next stop when a sandwich is on the bill.

A house with a shed turned kitchen on someone's lawn with a patio serving food? Why not? ..... I'll admit the pics of the pizza and supporting a fellow Sicilian (Sam) helped push me to visit, but the entire operation and their story intrigued me. I'll skip the story of their beginnings, but I just felt like I went back in time pulling along side a road to grab a bite to eat. Lots of shade trees, a converted shed into a kitchen and a large picnic gazebo/patio greeted me as I pulled up. (No bathroom on premises) Then I met Kayla (pronounced Ki-yla not kay-la) and Sam. They are nice welcoming, hard working people who made sure everything about my orders was right. First visit, I tried their cheesesteak with hot peppers. It was on an Amoroso roll. The portion was decent, flavors were good, little grease, solid melting of cheese in with the meat and the hot peppers provided just the right amount of kick and flavor. In hindsight I should have gotten the roll toasted a bit, but overall it was an average cheesesteak. Can't say anything bad about it. I ordered three pizzas to go the other day and they were tasty. The dough is made fresh daily. I haven't seen large thin crust NY slices in Delco before so that was a first. Couple observations, the pizzas are 20" so your slices will measure about 9" to 9 1/2" long. The crust was thin, crispy, had a nice light char and stood straight as an arrow. It's a little heavier on the sauce side which is thick, a little acidic with a sweet/spicy bite to it. I would have liked a bit more cheese to even out the cheese/sauce ratio. For $15 a pizza, I thought it was a good value, they do sell by the slice at $3. I will definitely stop in again to try their other offerings. A few people waiting for their food recommended the breakfast sandwiches and roast beef sandwich. Thank you Kayla and Sam!

We had several winemaking tasks to do that morning, including some barrel cleaning, bottling, and some other chores, which are not necessarily some of the more fun activities associated with the hobby, and here he comes with a wonderful breakfast sandwich. Despite living nearby and having passed this location so many times I remember their old sign by heart; "Anna's Sandwich Shop - No gas, better hoagies" due to their proximity to a giant Wawa with gas station that opened across the street, I had not been there to ever experience what so many people have told me is an essential spot to try in the area. This was my day to try, and I have to say that I was wowed. He brought me a steak, egg, and cheese on a long roll but also made sure to get wonderfully pan fried onions enmeshed throughout the whole sandwich as well as having it perfectly peppered. What left the biggest impression on me was how perfectly the flavors melded together and how easily I was able to inhale such a huge sandwich at the early morning hour without feeling too full. The only downside was that it left me wanting more, and I felt like I could have easily finished off a second one, and I don't know why. While I love food and trying new things, I can't generally eat extremely large portions. I like to try a bunch of many different little parts so that I can have a bit of everything, but here, I could have eaten enough in sandwiches to feed four people. Dangerous! I have not had the opportunity to meet any of the staff or even to see the inside of the place, but I have to assume that is is a typical Delco sandwich shop, which for me is a place I'd like to go. With up front, no frills friendly staff that is most likely local and has been for a long time. I do believe that it has changed hands recently but is still being run the same way it has traditionally be so don't expect any changes here. Just good stuff, and for me, so far that means delicious, overly consumable breakfast sandwiches. Stop by on your way down MacDade one morning and try one for yourself!
