Live down the street in Springfield. Someone I knew said good cheesesteak. Just haven't a try very good cheesesteak great roll. Would definitely recommend this. Tried the honey chicken cheesesteak a couple weeks back didn't like the combination of ingredients in it. Still had great roll good cuts of chicken.

My husband and I ordered Niko's for the first time tonight and wow it was AMAZING. The fries were covered in cheese, ranch, and bacon, they did not skimp. The bacon on the fries was cooked thoroughly which I really appreciate. The food was ready faster than expected. The inside is very clean and the staff are friendly. Everything we ordered was tasty and hot. We will definitely be ordering again.

Niko's Steaks sits in a three-store strip mall in Clifton Heights. They have parking, inside seating, and a bathroom -- three things you know I like. Sidebar: I've got a fun'ish story from about 50 years ago involving the intersection right in front of Niko's. That's a story for another day. I ordered my usual cheesesteak with fried onions on a seeded roll. While ordering, I watched them make another cheesesteak. I liked that they cover the meat while it cooks. I was a little concerned watching them layer and fold the meat together as it cooked. I took my cheesesteak over to Ship Bottom Brewery Blendary and Barrel House in Swarthmore. When I unwrapped it, I could tell immediately this was going to be the tale of two cheesesteaks. Top bite: meat and roll. Bottom bite: cheese and fried onions. Now, after watching my own video this morning, this might actually be the tale of three cheesesteaks. The leftover half looks like it has a lot more cheese and onions -- and that half is looking very promising. Also, I absolutely love the off-season hazy sour from Ship Bottom Brewery.

I've passed Niko's Steaks in Clifton Heights many times (my pets groomer is a few blocks away). If I'm going for a cheesesteak in the area I'm headed for Johnny B's Place, one of my favorites. But, I thought I'd give them a try Let's get right to the headline: A very good cheesesteak. I wouldn't put it in the top tier, and if in the area I'd still go to Johnny B's but, if Johnny's was closed this would be an excellent option. Steak was sliced very thin but not overly chopped so it retained texture in the meat. Onions finely diced and throughly mixed with the meat and cheese. One thing I hate with Angelo's is their coarsely cut onions layered on top. I much prefer this style, fine dice and mixed through out. The roll, seeded and soft. Nothing stand out flavorwise but it held up to the juice (grease) of the sandwich right to the end. In summary, if you're in the area, definitely worth giving it a try. (One minor nit pick. They need better quality napkins. They're those thin little folded ones you might find in a mall food court. I think I used like 20 of them.)

    Niko special. Soooo good.

Hoping that what we say online from so many people in Delco was the definitive answer for a wonderful Stromboli, the drive out to Lansdowne was done and there I stood in front of the unique counter that drops down about six feet into the kitchen, a setup I simply still don't really understand, waiting for the boli promised to be the ultimate in its field by the people of the area. We had ordered the roast pork stromboli and when it arrived from deep within the bowels of the seemingly subterranean kitchen, I could see the steam coming from the box and could smell the delicious amalgamation of cheese, meat, and sauces within the folded dough. I raced the box back to the car and quickly drove home to cut the thing open to find exactly what I had hoped. An explosion of delicious flavor in all of its glory; still piping hot, quickly devoured! While I cannot say definitively that this is absolute best Stromboli in Delco or "that I've ever had" as I was guaranteed it was, it was exceptionally outstanding. I will be returning here whenever I am passing by the area and will be trying other stromboli offerings. If you are local or simply nearby, you should check out Paul Revere as well and experience the wonder of a top-tier, interestingly different, Stromboli from the heavens of the kitchen of deliciousness.

Jim's West competes solidly for the title of Best Cheesesteak Joint in Phialdephia. Larry's, Max's, Dalessandro's and Chubby's...it doesn't matter! Jim's West is guaranteed to give you a heavy cheesesteak at a good deal. Real Amoroso rolls, traditionally wrapped, they don't skimp on any ingredients, they have Kosher Hoagies, and the Steak is even Halal!! Alhamdulillah! You can't top that apart from variance of luck. They're the only place to have the Banana Pudding Special (best banana pudding too), they have great Strawberry Lemonade with real strawberries in it!....and if that's not enough to sweeten the pot, they're the only place that offers the maximum variety of Cheese Options. They have Cooper Sharp sure, but they also have Pepperjack like a couple of the others do, and are the *only* cheesesteak joint to still offer Swiss since the pandemic. Cheese Whiz: Hit Or Myth is one of my favorite newspaper articles because Whiz is trash and American is the Philadelphia Style default. But at Jim's, whiz is different. It doesn't make your cheesesteak taste like macaroni, or plastic. Whatever whiz they're using is more like cheddar and enhances the flavor of the meat much like Provolone does. You can get spinach and broccoli on your Chicken Cheesesteaks, I love this kind of variety and I'm already planning to try this when it's time fur my next visit. If you don't want the steak chopped finely, just ask them not to. If you want it cooked as lightly as possible, just tell them! They are nice here and they will hook you up! Otherwise they are very consistent, they virtually never give overcooked steak. You can see how closely they pay attention to the grill as they cook and they actively toss away burnt bits of steak. I went here twice a day for over a week straight and got steaks from each cook at least once!! I believe in this joint. It has real history behind it as the 2nd oldest cheesesteak joint in Philadelphia, the first in West Philadelphia period. "New Ownership" but literally all the best staff from the old ownership. The same cooks, the same genuinely nice and friendly people that worked here since I was a kid. Know your roots. This place will treat you right.

There is a private lot off to the side of the building that the store is located. There is also street parking located within a reasonable walking distance. The staff there was friendly enough, even though my interaction with them was limited. The store has all that you would want in a convenience store including scratch offs, beer, soda, juice, chips, and candy. It appeared very cluttered and dirty. There were boxes all over the floor. You will find a couple of booth tables in the store's small dining area. The booths were in bad shape and I had to weave between some boxes to get to them. It was nice to have the dine in option though because I had caught a bus to get her from my hotel. This place serves burgers, sandwiches, wings, fish, fries hoagies and steak and cheeses. I ordered the Jerk chicken cheesesteak sandwich, with a side of fries. It took about 12 minutes for me to get my food. It was fresh and and delicious. It was packed with flavor and there was a ton of food. While I was there, they were receiving a a shipment of drinks, which caused them to leave the front door open. On a normal day this would not have been an issue, but it was a very cold day and I was freezing while I ate in the dining. area. I finished my food quickly to get out of there. This place has some very good food, but the location and cleanliness and order of the place is purely wretched.
