An excellent Philly Cheesesteak. Grill master is competent, takes the time to listen to your preferences. The woman who made mine is diligent, careful. Good, fresh hoagie rolls that don't fall apart. Have never complained about Jim's ever, always a consistently above average cheesesteak but not today. $56 dollars for 3 cheesesteaks and some fries which is kind of absurd but I digress. Steak: dry/overcooked, unseasoned and skimped (major skimped) Cheese: (skimped) almost non existent. Roll: pretty good Service: polite and helpful no complains there always kind and courteous. The best cheesesteaks have different qualities that stand out in particular. For me, at Jim's, it's about the fineness of the chop and the quality of the meat. I do also love coating the bread with wiz (and finishing the sandwich with it on top). Peppers are free at check out if you ask for them. If you want to avoid the line, come at an off hour, as I did. I just had a terrible cheesesteak. It was cooked quickly, the cheese was not melted and the meat wasn't cut up as it should. I did but have the time nor energy to rake it back but I should have. I was visiting Pennsylvania for the first time and this was the first time I've had a genuine Philly cheesesteak, so take my opinion with a grain of salt compared to a local's. The sandwich itself was tasty, but it seemed to be lacking from what I expected a Philly cheesesteak to be; there wasn't any juices or grease dripping from the cheesesteak. The meat was therefore a bit dry but still tender. With it being simply seasoned with salt and pepper and flavored by the grilled onions and cheese, it was a good first cheesesteak that costed about $14. I even took one for my plane ride back so my girlfriend can try it and she enjoyed it after a good air fry. I ordered a Beef Cheese Steak with fried onions, lite mayo, s&p, ketchup! An a fountain drink Coke to wash it down. I would have preferred the meat be chopped more. The sandwich was bland not sure it's because it's grilled with water but it just didn't sing to my soul. There was no juices running down my hands nothing.. it settled my hunger but didn't invite me back. It was pretty quiet, but the staff was Super-friendly and asked about everything for my order as they went. I had a cheese steak with fried onions, provolone cheese, and a little ketchup, plus a side of fries. Steak slices are big, and while you get a good size portion, it's not overstuffed like some places (where you can't get a good bite of all the ingredients.) Onions are mixed in. Since I had a bit of a drive home, it stayed pretty warm after 40 minutes. The mix of onions, beef, and ketchup reminded me of a White Castle burger, in a good way.
