Not going to lie, I wasn't expecting any red carpet treatment but came here twice, once on a Thursday and was told 35-45 min wait when there were open tables. There was so many people willing to wait. Went somewhere else. Then came back on a Monday after the snow storm, and even less people and told the same thing. I get it. Hiring staff in today's environment is not easy and the day after the snow storm doesn't make it easy also but when.you have so many tables and section scattered about, it's hard for a customer to appreciate the wait. My family and I went on mothers day 2026. We called ahead 2 weeks in advance for a 4:30 time. Other patrons were coming in and we were left by the wasteside until around 5:10. Then 6 of us were put in a booth requiring 2 side chairs. Most of the party ordered 6 inch filet but when they came out it looked like flank steak that was split in thickness maybe 3/8 of an inch thick. There was not enough service personell and we ended up being there 2 hours plus because the food was over an hour wait after ordering. The bill was over $200.00 and for what we received on this holiday seemed like a total scam. I would just tell you to stay away from the Springfield Pa. Outback ... it sucks! read more

So there's not too much I can really say about Outback Steakhouse that most people don't really already know. If you haven't been to one before I would honestly be very surprised. For some reason we occasionally come here thinking it's a great idea, and every single time I am slightly let down. It's never a bad meal, and it's never a great meal. It is what it is; a simple steakhouse with a worn out shtick about being an "Australian steakhouse" that prepares their dishes like you would get them "down under", which is as far from the truth as humanly possible because Australian barbecue and steak grilled are very different than what you will get here. However, if you want a moderately priced cut of meat, that won't be all too bad, don't want to travel far, don't mind the annoying decor and mediocre overall feel and service, then you can easily head to the Outback that is most conveniently located locally to you. The location we go to in Springfield is very nice considering the different experiences that I have had at places like this over the years. The place is nice and clean, bathrooms are sparkling, at least in my visits, and the staff, surprisingly compared to other places I have been, are very nice, attentive, and actually engaging most of the time. Not just your average fill of post-teenage servers that are eking out a restaurant job while home from school on summer or winter break. Everything I have ever had here is pretty good as well. Nothing would ever make me exclaim "Wow!" but minus the normal pieces have have some bad gristle or sinew, I'm always happy enough. To avoid this, I will usually go with a much leaner cut than I normally would (ribeyes are my favorite) and I'll get a sirloin or a flat iron at places like this, and they do just fine. The consistency is why I eventually keep coming back, and probably, despite the slight protest each time, continually will over the years. Give the Springfield Outback a try. It's one of the better ones in my opinion. If you've never been to one, then why not try out the chain this time round. There's also access to some wonderful dessert places nearby and other food if this doesn't strike your fancy. But why not give it a shot, or another try if it's been a while? Never thought I'd write a review for an Outback Steakhouse but hey first time for everything. We had reservations at a different place but those got unexpectedly canceled. Hungry, we looked around what was nearby, saw an Outback, and even better saw it had no wait time for our party of 7. I went in with bottom barrel expectations and was pleasantly surprised the entire time. We were quickly seated at our table, and the server was quick to explain the menu, specials, and get our drink orders in. I got a smokey old fashioned, my wife the "Puggle Splash". Both were quite good - the Puggle Splash even came with a toy Platypus - how cool is that? In addition our daughter got a toy duck with the little Outback logo and some crayons and coloring paper. The brown bread, which is included, was exceptional. I've been to restaurants that are 2x more expensive than Outback that had bread that wasn't anywhere near as good as this stuff. Must have. The food came out in good time, and again knocked my expectations out of the park. Normally if we order food from a chain like Applebees, it looks nothing like the picture, and is oversalted/seasoned. Not so with Outback. The Steak was cooked exactly medium as requested, was juicy, and lightly seasoned as were the veggies and baked sweet potato. Was this steak better than a high-end steakhouse steak? No, but for under $30 its absolutely a fantastic cut of red meat. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food (my wife got the salmon) even our daughter liked her pasta. 5 stars from her. Our server would check on us, refill our waters as needed. Al in all we had an exceptional time. If you're in the Springfield area and looking for a good quality, reasonably priced family restaurant to bring the whole family, kids included too, I can't recommend Outback enough. Delicious food. Excellent service. And reasonable price. I got all of that last night at Outback Steakhouse in Springfield. We went to Outback for an early dinner and were seated right away. We noticed on the menu that they have complete 3-course dinners for under $20 apiece. I ordered the coconut shrimp, which was prepared perfectly but also featured eight jumbo high-quality shrimp! It came with a side, a soup or salad, and dessert. Delicious! Service was speedy and friendly. The casual ambiance was perfect for our get-together. Of course, I can rarely finish a full restaurant meal, so I brought half of my food home and enjoyed a second full meal tonight. Pretty good for under $20! read more

Took my 2 sons to Outback in Springfield last night. Haven't been in a very long time. We ordered 2 steaks and a pasta dish. The steaks were over cooked and luke warm. They were replaced no problems. The owner himself came over with new steaks. Customer service was great. But all 3 of us have been up all night with what I assume is food poisoning. Very bad stomach aches when we got home, then vomiting and everything else all night long. We could barely get up out of bed this morning. Needless to say we will never be going back!! read more

Standard affair but reasonable prices for what you get. Steak was a good portion offering and quality was so so. Cooked well. Lobster Mac and cheese used real lobster and a good portion size- a winner here. I went with an old fashioned because of the smokiness. Didn't taste the smokiness and the sugar added was all at the bottom. Maybe if it was mixed better. BlackBerry martini from my friend came out well with the blend of fruity flavors and his meatloaf was slightly adventurous with a slight kick and not too shabby but not a must have. Outback is a reliable name for a reasonably priced dining experience and convenience that they might even be one of the fewer places open on July 4. The juicest shrimp this side of the Mississippi. We had the coconut shrimp. The dipping sauce was almost peachy. My down under darned was delicious. Last night we went to the Outback Steakhouse in Springfield. Our waiter left a lot to be desired. After taking our order for drinks and entrees, we waited a very long time to get our food. We watched as he was eating his dinner and watching the football game. We were patient, but finally asked him where our salads were, which never came with our entrees. After that, we were glad to use the touch-screen to pay our bill because the waiter made himself scarce again. We reluctantly gave him a tip. Also, don't order the Shrimp from the Barbie entree. I started off by ordering a prime rib. When it arrived, it had so much salt & pepper on it that it was barely edible, but I would have eaten it if the waitress had not checked in to see how I liked it. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the manager came over and offered to let me reorder whatever I wanted. Every time I order pickup or delivery, something is always missing. Today it was my honey mustard. Last time it was the honey mustard and the coconut shrimp sauce. As for delivery -- the service you use feels like a scam. They say my food was delivered when it wasn't. The delivery people roll up on bikes, and my food arrives cold. When I call about it, management tells me to contact the delivery service for a refund, but that's impossible -- you end up speaking to someone overseas, and they say the refund comes from the store. the food was cold and blan, I sent it back and it came out colder than it was befor, they obviously have a issue with food service I came 3x and the first time i did not get my bread, the second time I didn't get my food but got a bill don't know how that work, this time the food was poor and cold it sucks when your hungry and they could care less about service they need to be re trained cause this is unacceptable! Outback used to be a solid place for consistent steaks. I never expect something otherworldly, but for a $20 - $30 meal, it's always been pretty good. I personally have recently boycotted Outback, due to a huge reduction in steak size (mainly thickness) and the fact that every time my steaks are overcooked. Nonetheless, someone else chose this spot so I played nice. The good first, the staff was great, from the time we entered to the time we left. They were friendly, prompt and accommodating. Our drinks came fairly quickly and all of the orders were right. The restaurant looked good and was clean. The apps were all good as well: wings, Bloomin' Onion and coconut shrimp. Everything hot and tasted exactly as expected. Now onto the entrees, there were seven of us and most ordered a filet. I'm not a fan of filets, I would prefer something with flavor over something that is extremely tender....but in hindsight I probably should've opted for this cut. When the meal arrived I watched my dining companions cut into their steaks, they all looked like they were cooked perfectly. I ordered mine medium-rare and when it arrived, after looking forward to this beautiful Bone-in Ribeye with a roasted onion topped with Bourbon Butter (that was so perfectly pictured on their promotional menu), I was sadly disappointed when the server dropped off a piece of meat that couldn't have been a half an inch thick and was cooked far beyond well. This right here, this thinly sliced cut of meat which always gets overcooked is why I will continue to boycott Outback. I had hoped that as this was a different location than what I leave near, it would've been different...but at least they are consistent. And yes, I probably could've said something and they would've cooked a new one, but that is a pain. And when the word "Steak" is in your name, you need to get it right more than you get it wrong. read more

Went to outback tonight with a friend (3/12 Wednesday) he had the shrimp on the Barbie. I had the bloomin burger and the food was excellent. We were in Jahs section and he was absolutely AMAZING! His service was excellent. He was funny. Knowledgeable about the food. All around one of the best experiences I've had in a long time at a restaurant. And that's coming from a server myself. If you're lucky enough to get his section you'll have a great experience. And tip him extra. He deserves it. read more

We recently did it take out order from Outback in Springfield PA. The online ordering was relatively easy and we selected the earliest available pickup time which was about a half hour. We happen to arrive right on time pulled into one of several open spots for to go orders. They made it easy to text that we had arrived. A friendly and energetic young man named Edward brought our food out quickly. The order was correct in all the details, The food was good, and surprisingly the food was still HOT. Can't ask for more than that. All in all it was a great experience, I highly recommend! read more

Me and my husband decided to order from here today because the steaks looks bigger than most restaurants around here. Never again! First of all we ordered when they opened so there's no reason the food shouldn't have been awesome and fresh. We ordered loaded baked potatoes with our steaks... we were given just baked potatoes nothing on them not even cut open nothing to even put on them ourselves. Mozzarella sticks cold not even melted cheese inside. Our steaks were supposed to have garlic sauce and mushrooms on top nope not even given any. My steak was good my friend's steak was tough. Outback is a hit or miss with food and service. My experience this evening was awful Jessica took her time coming to our table and it was downhill from there. All the items we requested she took her time responding i.e. extra bread more water, napkins. I gave her my phone number to use my dine rewards our bill came to 89.00 my friend gave her 35.00 in cash and I told her to take the balance off my card. She took off the dine rewards and the balance was 69.00 she never applied the 35.00 in cash and gave me a bill for the same 69.00 instead of deducting the 35.00. Having moved away from the area 12 years ago, I was expecting to have a meal at the Outback location I had known. I was pleasantly surprised to see a new location at the end of the strip of stores. We arrived before 5pm on a Tuesday and had plenty of space for parking. The restaurant was quite large compared to other Outbacks I have visited. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered the 12oz rib eye (medium rare) and the 6oz sirloin (medium) with shrimp. Everything was prepared just right with excellent flavor. Would definitely recommend.
