I went out of my way to come here for lunch after i saw a facebook post from the cheese steak adventures's guy pop up! it was from a while ago but i figured if he liked it... why not? the pita is really good. chewy. warm and moist. i got the classic (more to come) which is basically a gyro with the fixin's. lamb and fries tzsatiki. perfect. now let's move on to the staff and the restaurant overall. there are so many things wrong. the website will not let you honor several of the lunch specials. if you click on certain links they're no good. dont try to use them, since you will get to the restaurant and they will charge you for whatever the order would have been. i mean i want to save two bucks like everyone else. next, i'm going to agree with the many other reviews... why in the world can you NOT get sauce on the side if you pay for it? do they not have any lil cups?! i looked around this place is pretty cut and dry. i know it sounds like BS but i think they dont have those lil tiny cups. ...then there is the staff. i want so badly for them to hire the 'local lady who answers the phone'. they need it in the worst way. the guy who picks up is as fun as paint drying. it's a huge turn off for folks who know the food is good but the staff is not. will i be back... ?you damn right. but i am going to avoid a bunch of things from the jump: i'm only ordering online, if there is an upsell for sides and they do not have them i will just ask for my money back. they use toast for their ordering system and they will honor refunds if need be, and park around back. they have 2 spaces, the staff is using them too! i really hope things turn around in this location. they are not in philly anymore. it's the 'burbs baby!

The table was nicely prepared for all of us, with plenty of space for everyone. They have a lot of their seafood on display and if you like, you can pick which one you'd like them to prepare for you. They actually bring it out for a little show while it being prepared (see picture). I haven't one bad thing to say about this restaurant. A good time was had by all! Oh! One thing that was very impressive......twice (during the evening) silverware had fallen to the floor. A waiter would rush over to bring a clean set right away. Wow! Never saw that done with such fast precision!!!! I decided on the Lamb Chops. It comes with fried potatoes, tzatziki and I got a side of grilled vegetables. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu (sharing the appetizers) which is a good deal, and I don't remember so many items involving an upcharge so that's new to me. - fried calamari - 4/5, very good, nice aioli dipping sauce, breading was consistent and not too heavy, light tasting and delicious - greek salad - 4/5, I usually love this and it was still delicious and fresh but I noticed that 1) they've changed the name so it's no longer called horiatiki, and 2) we had a very small piece of feta with the salad whereas in the past the ratio of feta to the tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, cucumbers has been more even. And now there's a $6 supplement charge for this appetizer which seems like A LOT for a salad. Next time I might skip this because of the upcharge - lavraki - 5/5, this light white fish is just the right amount of flavor and portion and my go to choice when I go to Estia. Also a $6 upcharge but this seemed more worth it - baklava - 5*/5, also a $2 upcharge but worth it as these four pieces of cylindrical baklava, while a little difficult to eat (use your hand? try to cut a cylinder with a fork?) it is an excellent baklava We went at 5pm before it got too busy and were seated away from the bar so we were able to have a quiet conversation but as the restaurant filled it definitely got noisier and I would not want to be seated near the bar. They do have a lovely outdoor area at the front and side of the restaurant so we could have sat outside since last night was quite mild in weather. One downside of the prix fixe is no zucchini and eggplant chips which are my favorite, and I didn't want to order that on top of the appetizer, entree, and dessert. Next time!

Trying both meat and seafood dishes, we have come to the conclusion that Almyra seems to do better with seafood than meat dishes, though this is not to say the meat dishes are bad. For dessert, my brother got the Budino again and my dad got the Baklava. The Baklava was unfortunately dry and hard, so while this is a classic Greek dessert I would opt for another dessert here. The dessert was made special, however, complete with a "Happy Birthday" design on the plate and a sparkler for my dad. The service was once again excellent. Our waitress was very attentive, upbeat, and helpful. Lastly, having come in the winter last time the restaurant was busy, but slightly more toned down. On this summer Saturday night the restaurant was very loud, which made it hard to hear conversation. This is a small thing, but something to keep in mind if you are looking for a more intimate dinner! We will definitely be back to Almyra again! Chicken tenders and fries were incredibly underwhelming, even for a toddler. I think we might give some other greek options a try before returning, though it's very conveniently located.

This was exactly what I wanted out of my gyro. The spanakopita was also great, and came out in a pinwheel shape that maximized crispy surface area per bite. It was so tasty that my wife and I nearly melted our mouths multiple times taking bites before it was fully cool. We just stopped by here on the way from West Philly to the AMC at Plymouth Meeting, and just needed a quick bite. We got the quick bite but were so satisfied that we're trying to find our next excuse to be out in Conshy for some comfort Greek. I'll be back for sure!

Long solid tentacles that were served with a slightly tart dressing which complemented the basic seafood flavor you'd expect with either octopus or squid. No squid/calamari mixed in. I honestly wish we ordered 2 plates of the octopus instead of the dolmas. We were both craving gyros so that's what we got. It's huge! One order of gyro could have fed both of us. We each had to box half of our gyros to take home. Flavors were on point but the meat was a bit dry. Like chewy dry. There was a lot of tzatziki on it. It sort of balanced it out but I think it could've been better for a basic greek entree. Service was very friendly and informative.
