Food was overpriced, and service was horrible. We were greeted with two very rude and inattentive hostesses, and our server was not giving our table ANY attention. She was talking to the other bussers the entire time. There are so many better Mediterranean restaurants in the area, and this is definitely NOT worth your time, even if it's in your area.

I had dinner at Almyra this past weekend at the end of a day in Philadelphia, and I really enjoyed my meal. I'll be honest, I'm always a little suspicious of places that have vines of fake flowers or selfie setups. I've been to too many restaurants that are more style than substance, restaurants that focus on decor and vibes and being a scene and lose focus on food and service. Almyra definitely has created a vibe. There are faux bougainvillea vines that make you think of Greek isles. And there is a large mirror for selfies are you walk in. There's fun music. Like I said, it's a vibe. But the food and service were still very good, and that makes all the difference. When solo dining, sometimes I'll over order a bit so that I can try more things and enjoy the leftovers at home, so I ordered one dish from their mezze, one from their raw dishes, and one from their salads. My mezze - wagyu dumplings - was delicious. The filling was delicious and the yogurt was a perfect accompaniment. My raw dish - Lavraki (sea bass) ceviche with tomato, feta, and gigante beans - was great; it was bright and acidic (loads of lemon) and interesting (I'd never had a ceviche like it - being more familiar with Latin and Central American ceviches - feta and gigantes!). My salad - romaine with dill, feta, and crispy phyllo - was also good, simple but bright and delicious. I sadly didn't have room for dessert (after all, much of my salad and two dumplings were in a to go container already), but I had a cappuccino to end my meal. Three good courses, good service, and vibes? A meal I enjoyed and wouldn't mind repeating.

I visited Almyra for a birthday dinner and from the moment we walked in, the energy was what it needed to be... sexy, elevated, and vibrant without being loud or chaotic. The open concept space, beautiful lighting, and music set up a nice vibe. We started with the tuna and salmon tartare shared among the group. It was fresh, beautifully composed, and the kind of starter that sets the tone for a great meal. For my entrée, I had the lamb: tender, deeply flavorful, and executed so well! I want to add that our server was attentive throughout the night without being intrusive. Overall, I had a great time at Almyra and really enjoyed!

We came here as a group to celebrate a birthday, and from the moment we arrived, the staff made sure we were well taken care of. The restaurant immediately stands out with its beautiful design and modern atmosphere. It's one of those places that's incredibly Instagram-worthy, and throughout the evening we noticed plenty of people taking photos both inside and outside the restaurant. Everything was clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, making it a great setting for a special occasion. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a modern and upscale feel. Every detail seems carefully thought out, from the lighting to the overall design of the space. It's easy to see why so many people stop to take pictures here. The restaurant was spotless and created a great atmosphere for celebrating with friends and family. Service - Service was excellent throughout the evening. Our waitress was personable, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. The staff did a great job making sure our group was taken care of, and everything flowed smoothly despite the size of our party. What We Ordered - -Wagyu Dumplings - Filled with feta, onion, and lemon mint yogurt. Very good, rich and flavorful with a nice balance from the yogurt. -Crispy Rice - Topped with tuna, avocado, and olive. Also very good, with great texture contrast and fresh flavors. -The Spreads - Served with fresh pita bread and spiced rice crackers. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. -Shrimp Kadaifi - Very good. Crispy, flavorful, and a great starter. -Charred Octopus - A must-order dish. Extremely tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. -Lamb Ribs - Another standout item. The meat was incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. -Filet Mignon Kebab - Very good. Tender, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. -Chilean Sea Bass - Flaky, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. -Lamb Chops - Cooked perfectly medium rare and paired with amazing layered potato fries. Easily one of the best dishes of the night and another must-order item. -Braised Short Rib - Served with dill bao buns and pickled onions. The short rib was rich, tender, and paired really well with the light acidity from the pickled onions and the soft bao buns. -Chicken - Served with basmati rice and packed with great flavor. Final Thoughts - This was an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was excellent, and every dish we ordered was delicious. It's not often that an entire table agrees on so many menu items, but Almyra delivered across the board. We would absolutely return again, and I would highly recommend it for special occasions, celebrations, or anyone looking for a memorable meal.

I had the opportunity to visit Greece for the first time a few years ago, and while I always liked Greek/Mediterranean food, the trip 'heightened my senses', and I now seek out the food I enjoyed so much during my visit. Almyra - I happened to walk by it a few weeks ago, I didn't know it was there. I thought, 'looks very nice, I'll have to try it'. The restaurant, which features 'modern Greek' is part of the Estia Group, which includes 7 restaurants - 3 of which are in Philly (Estia and Pietro's are the other two). I went for dinner this evening on a Wednesday, and there was a good crowd - the restaurant is quite large, and it's decorated beautifully. I started with three of the Spreads - Smoked Eggplant, Beet, and Hummus. It was wonderful trying these 3 - I spread them on the pita and crispy rice crackers - and tried them separately - spoonful by spoonful, to really taste the differences. The Edamame Hummus has a unique flavor and texture with tahini and garlic. The Beet features roasted beets blended with labneh and garlic and topped with pistachio and feta. The Smoked Eggplant with peppers and balsamic rounds out the 3 with a deep, smoky flavor and a soft, smooth texture. I always look for 'classic' Spanakopita these days, but rarely find it. The dish at Almyra was labeled 'Spanakopita Manti' - I asked my server, what that was. She said it was a favorite of hers, a fried 'flower shaped' pastry filled with blended spinach and feta, served with tzatziki and leeks. I ordered them and they were heavenly - lightly battered, crispy fried 'flowers', with a creamy spinach center, that tasted exactly like spanakopita should. I dipped every bite in the creamy tzatziki and thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer! While pork is the most popular meat in Greece, lamb is a dish served on special occasions and holidays. I 'discovered' lamb in Greece, as I hadn't ordered it that often when I would go out to eat....specifically the lamb chop. Almyra has a great lamb chop! It's seared on the grill - and I do mean seared - the deep char definitely adds to the flavor. The 3 large chops are Australian lamb, herb marinated for days highlighting the flavor of the meat. They are seasoned with sea salt, cracked pepper and olive oil for a tender finish. I like my meat pink inside - not red or rare. Cooking lamb chops medium to medium well is no small feat, yet the meat was cooked exactly the way I liked. They were tender and very juicy. These chops may have been some of the thickest I've had - and I made the 'mistake' of trying to eat them with a fork and knife. Wrong! If you order chops, you 'MUST PICK THEM UP' and eat them! What a difference!! The meat just came right off the bone and it enhanced both the texture and flavor! I'm not sure why eating them off the bone was so different, but I can't emphasize it enough - and, it's a lot more fun! Part of the treat when you order ribs are the 'layered potato fries' you get with them! These aren't your ordinary fries, in fact, they're really not fries - they are little potato masterpieces! The fries are prepared by thinly slicing potatoes and layering them to create a multi layered texture that rocks! They are truly a savory, rich side dish to the lamb chops! After such an epic dinner, I had to order dessert, and the Olive Oil cake immediately caught my eye. It was a two layered cake with a creamy custard like center and a citrus orange topping. It was light and moist, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla gelato resting on a bed of ground pistachio nuts! It was delicious and a wonderful ending to a great meal!

It is pricey but the taste and quality are definitely there. Highlights for me were the fries, lamb buns, and chilean sea bass. The ambiance is trendy and service was fast. It was a great experience

Almyra in Center City Philadelphia is absolutely breathtaking from the moment you walk in. The space is stunning, elegant, and romantic without feeling overdone. It immediately sets the tone for an elevated yet welcoming dining experience and honestly feels perfect for a date night or special occasion. We started with cocktails, and they alone were worth the visit. The Fotia cocktail, made with tequila, blood orange, and jalapeño, was incredibly tasty with the perfect balance of heat and citrus. I ordered the Pathos with vodka, passion fruit, honey, and lemon, and I would genuinely go back just for that drink alone. It was that good. For appetizers, our amazing server gave us some excellent recommendations, and they did not disappoint. The charred octopus was tender and flavorful, and the lamb ribs were phenomenal. Both dishes completely set the tone for the rest of the meal and let us know we were in for something special. Before our main courses, we also ordered the romaine salad. It was good, but it felt like it could use a little more of something to really make it stand out. Still enjoyable, just not as memorable as everything else. For our mains, we ordered the Chilean sea bass and the lamb chops with basmati rice and mixed vegetables. Both were absolutely amazing. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, and the lamb chops were flavorful and beautifully paired with the sides. From the cocktails to the ambiance, the service, and most importantly the food, this was hands down one of the best date nights I've had in Philly. Almyra has easily become one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and I can't wait to go back.

What a vibe! This place was really nice. Sometimes I am hesitant of big spots like this, but I found the food, drinks, service, and vibes to be great. I was there in a group of 6 girls and we had a lot of fun. The vibe does lean slightly more lively without being too crazy. The octopus we had was unreal. I was obsessed. Would definitely return!!

came back after a few years and ... it's changed from a 4/5 to a 2/5 experience for me. upon entering the restaurant, my friend was told to take off his hat since there's a dress code (he was not asked politely either) and everyone was dressed CASUAL. PSA: just no hats i guess. waitress was nice and recommended some drinks, which personally were too sweet for us. for apps we ordered some spreads which were okay, app was an octopus which came out in an abundance and tasted like prior frozen octopus. entree kebabs would not recommend for the price ($25/$33), but was decent. overall, for this price, you can 100% find something better quality. would i come back? maybe someday years from now to give it another chance, but not for the near future.

Tasty yummmmmm in a fun atmosphere. Like a taverna on one of the numerous islands in the Aegean Sea. Upscale without attitude. Happy Hour at the bar is packed. Every appetizer we shared was enough to whet the palate. Dining tables are close together so it's easy to converse with others OR within your own party. Wait staff work together as a Team. Reservations are a must‼ Opaaaaaaaaa‼‼

Beautiful modern interior with cool music vibes, made our evening dinner even more awesome. Our server was Kevin S. and he was excellent throughout the meal. We were here on the early dinner (6pm) on a weeknight so it was not crowded when we arrived. But, definitely filled up as the night went on. We began with the 3 spread mezza plate which was excellent. Next was the Cretan Village Salad which we split, and that too was perfect. Entrees were the Lamb Chops and the Short Rib dinners. I could not ask for better on either of these dishes. Lamb cooked perfectly as requested. And the short rib just pulled apart beautifully and had a great juicy flavor. We were both very very happy with all aspects of this evening a Almyra.

Honestly the experience here was so good that I'm struggling to come up with the words to describe it. Walking in, you're immediately greeted with an atmosphere that provides comfort and glamor at the same time. The inside of the restaraunt is absolutely gorgeous! They do have a dress code on certain days (check their website for more details) so be sure to pay attention to that! We visited on a Monday evening around 7 o'clock and did not have a reservation, but were promptly greeted and seated. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. The food was amazing! We started our meal with the tuna crispy rice and charred octopus, which were both very fresh and delicious. We also split the romaine salad which was as herby and refreshing. The lamb chops were to die for; succulent and perfectly cooked. The mousse dessert was also tasty! I highly recommend a trip to Almyra, you won't regret it! Pro tip: parking is a bit dicey, but the walk from the surrounding hotels isn't bad at all!

The service was impeccable. Everyone was so welcoming. I felt special, The restaurant was clean and the decor was nice. Almyra's has been on my high list of restaurants to try on the East coast. I am a fan of anything Mediterranean inspired and I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it and I'm looking forward to my next visit. The humus sampler was delicious. I will try to recreate this. It included the edamame, beet and smoked egg plant humus. So delicious. The beet was my favorite and I haven't ever enjoyed beet until now. I ordered and tried the wagyu dumplings which were also very good. My entree I had the Lavraki which had lemon, capers and Horta on the side. I added the potato's and these were so delicious. All of the food was everything! They have perfected deliciousness across every item I had from the menu. I enjoyed the mild and subtle sweetness of the fish. It's not often that I eat fish, so I had to try this. For my cocktail I enjoyed the Rum sparkling strawberry moet. Very good. A must try. I highly recommend Almyra's.

For some reason they were blasting music today at a level that made it difficult to work even through AirPods. Their Chai is also very good if you are in a tea mood. Overall, a clear recommend in my book. Enjoy!

This is a Kebab restaurant in Philly. It has modern vibes -…read morenot really a hole in the wall vibe. It feels upscale but still small. I got some platters and I really enjoyed it. Each table has three sauces. There is the white sauce, and a red and green sauce. The white sauce is good - like a mix between ranch and tzitzaki. The green sauce is minty, and the red one is spicy. I was really happy with the lamb. It was very tender and flavorful. It also came hot out of the grill. It didn't have a "strong" lamb flavor and was slightly smoky. The rice was super fragrant. I think it had a lot of butter or oil so it felt moist, and the carrots/raisons inside were a nice touch. The food went really well with the three sauces. There was also a good cardamom flavor inside. The food came with a ciabatta-like fried bread. I recommend this restaurant

When it's busy, it does get a bit cramped in there, but staff are welcoming and make sure everyone is comfortable. They do now take credit card recently. Dinner is served with a small bread basket. Started with the tapas platter which seemed a bit uninspired, though fine. Braised lamb shank was a large portion. The lamb itself needed to be trimmed quite a bit, though it was quite tender and had good flavor. The bed of veggies below were a bit bland compared to the apple cider saffron broth that was mentioned on the menu. Both salmon dishes that others at my table got said they were good. Nice dinner spot, thanks

I came here solo and ordered quite a bit for one. The food looked beautiful, but a few things…read moredidn't match the experience I was hoping for. I started with the fresh tuna appetizer. The sashimi itself was underwhelming, but the wasabi, ginger, and seaweed added much needed flavor. I also tried the salad, which included sweet beets that weren't mentioned on the menu. The description said roasted, but I couldn't taste that at all. If anything, it tasted more like sweet and pickled flavor. I ordered the Ciuppin next. The server warned me it would be spicy, but it arrived almost completely bland. I had to ask for extra black pepper just to get some flavor. The mussels and shrimp were very good, but the pasta / sauce ratio was off. There wasn't nearly enough sauce to coat the pasta, which left the dish lacking flavor. From the photo, it looks like the sauce would cover everything, but once you start mixing it, you realize it doesn't go far at all. Then I ordered the warm apple cobbler for dessert. I was expecting something baked and comforting. Instead I received uncooked oats mixed with cooked apples and a scoop of ice cream on top. Why is this called warm apple cobbler on the menu? And why didn't they explain in the description that this contains uncooked oats in every bite? I was so disappointed because I don't eat oats and certainly would not have ordered this if I would have known. It resembles a breakfast granola bar rather than a cobbler. It felt lazy and misleading. I paid for my meal using my phone. After I left a tip and completed the transaction, the server told me, "We usually don't accept anything less than 18%," and pointed out that what I left was much lower than what they expect. Then she walked away without another word. Even though the menu clearly states that only applies to parties of six or more. I was dining alone. Tips are earned, and honestly, the food wasn't that good, especially not after being served a trail mix dessert pretending to be cobbler. I was surprised she questioned the amount I chose to leave for a solo meal, especially after everything was already processed. I shouldn't have left anything at all. Tipping is optional, and the experience just didn't earn more.
