Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure,

Different Cheesesteak'eque sandwich #1171. I got the Philly Yeeroh. Does cheddar cheese, fried onions and peppers make it a philly?? Best lamb I ever had! I list my lamb credentials in full video. Nice Pita! They are BYOB. I may have to find someone I like, go back and get a regular Yeeroh. I added the picture of the Papadopoulos cookies because I grew up thinking my last name was Papadopoulos before it was shortened to Pappas.

Simply a wonderful discovery. Food is tasty, the place is very clean and the staff are genuine. First impressions matter. We had to try it. After The House Yeeroh, there's probably no more eating today. Had to take the other meal, the Bowl home. Coming back for sure.

Although the reviews are good, I thought I'd be underwhelmed. I was wrong. It was delicious and packed full of ingredients, especially protein. Although both were good, I think I favor the yeeroh meat over the suvlaki meat due to size and eatability. The pink and yellow side sauces are a waste. In my opinion, you can mix your own mayo and ketchup or mustard. Save room for dessert. These were the real highlight and 6 stars all day long. We tried the marmalade-ish orange cake and the crispy pastry with vanilla custard....amazing.

I made their food look good in my photos, but meat sampler has gone downhill. This past time I got through the chicken, but could not do the pork (tough, lots of fat, very greasy). Everything else was ok, but unremarkable. It used to be better. Never was as good as my Greek go-to in Paoli, but Yeeroh used to be 4 stars for the lower price. Now, Yeeroh's cheaper deal isn't worth the raised price for the loss in quality.

If you take a ride on the 101 Media trolley it is a beautiful experience and best of all there is a reward waiting for you at the end of the line. This is one of the finest restaurants that Media has to offer. Authentic Greek cuisine in the most wonderful tradition of fine spices and the freshest of ingredients. The place is warm and inviting with aromas that greet you. The moment you walk through the door. They have an extensive menu that is both delicious and healthy. Come on down and experience a culinary treat. If you are a musician or an artist you understand inspiration. The food here will certainly inspire anyone who is fortunate enough to experience such incredibly well prepared cuisine. Enjoy!

Bland. Dry. Almost flavorless. Just piled meat on top of a pita. Salad bowl was full of water at the bottom.

Been wanting to try Desert Rose for a while - so we went for lunch. My spouse has a bunch of…read moredietary restrictions and we let the individual at the counter know - and he said quite directly that was their specialty. And he was right. He and my wife talked and she ended up with hummus with mushrooms, slaw and cucumber slices while I had the chicken Shawarma sandwich. Both were delicious and the portions were large enough we made 2 meals out of the food. I asked for a drink with a cup of ice cream- they don't have ice cream- so he left the restaurant and came back with a cup of ice. They couldn't have been more friendly and knowledgeable. My spouse takes to the chef about the ingredients in the slaw and hummus and was very pleasantly surprised that there is no mayo in the restaurant and no oils in the hummus. Everything is made fresh. Prices were appropriate. We will be back!

The food smell hits you as soon as you walk in (not a bad smell though!)…read more Ordered the grilled beef kebab platter and the chicken shawarma. The grilled beef was good at first, but then when it cooled, it tasted really dry, almost even rubbery. Even though the hummus surrounding it was flavorful, it was tough to eat. The chicken was a little overcooked on the shawarma, but the shawarma was a good large portion, which is always a plus. Service was friendly! You have to lowkey walk through the kitchen to get to the single bathroom which is interesting.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much; in fact, it looks like a bit of a dive from outside. But when you walk in, you are transported. The design of the restaurant is so special - community tables, pillows, tapestries, waterfall features, tiles, and belly dancing. The food was a little inconsistent. We shared many dishes: Bastilla (baked layers of filo dough, eggs, chicken, almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar); hummus (chickpeas, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sprinkled with paprika and olive oil, served with pita bread); Spanakopita; salad trio (eggplant salad, cucumber and tomato salad, and carrot salad); lamb tagine (stew of lamb, onions, and roasted peppers topped with honey and served with rice); Moroccan chicken with harissa cumin sauce; mujaddara (cracked bulgur wheat cooked with lentils and caramelized onions); and mint tea. I wish they didn't serve bottled waters, and the food was mostly good but not the most consistent. Our mujaddara wasn't served with the yogurt sauce listed on the menu, and the lamb with the tagine was incredibly fatty, making some of it inedible. The mint tea was really really really sweet - like syrup! I also wish the bastilla had a little less powdered sugar (I like on the dish, but it was A LOT of powdered sugar), and it was quite dry. But the eggplant salad, carrot salad, hummus, and mujaddara (even without the yogurt sauce) were great. I would happily have eaten just those dishes. They were busy - it's a popular place - but service was also a challenge. It took us almost a half hour to get the check and pay. I had to ask for the bill twice and then it still took a while to get it, for it to get picked up, and for it to come back to us. It's pretty bad if I'm considering walking up to the bar to get the check and pay. I loved the ambiance and the character. I loved that you can't tell how amazing it's going to be inside when you see the outside of the building - it's a surprise for sure. Our experience was that the food was a bit inconsistent, but it certainly was a fun meal.

Peanut and Tree-nut Allergy Safe…read more Food was delicious and fresh. Everything we ordered was hot coming out, and tasted great. Waiter was friendly, helpful and it did not take long to get our food. I have a lethal Peanut and tree-nut allergy and had no issues eating here or communicating with the staff. At the time I came the only thing that has nuts is the deserts, so I was able to pick from the whole menu when it came to food and not worry about entree cross contamination which was a delightful surprise. This includes their vegetarian options which were also nut free. I am excited to go back and try more of their menu.

I'm providing this honest review as a constructive feedback for improvement…read more We came across this place online but were only able to try it recently...I was honestly disappointed by many things: First, when a place advertises shawarma meat and posts videos of the famous Lebanese shawarma revolving cone that grills the marinated meat as the cone turns, you would expect that the shawarma plate you order is an authentic shawarma meat cut off the shawarma cone...unfortunately, this was not the case at cafe baladi. I respect the owner who's advertising authentic homemade Lebanese food but the shawarma meat we got was not an authentic shawarma meat...this was meat that was cooked either in a pan or in the oven and was not tender because it was not probably marinated and it's not grilled on the shawarma cone. Placed that have the famous shawarma cone you can usually see in the restaurant either behind the counter or through a window in the back - this was not the case. Second the plate included the choice of hummus or baba ghannouj and tabbouleh...we picked baba ghannouj and we got the tabbouleh...again, the baba ghannouj did not taste at all authentic nor homemade...it tasted like the baba ghannouj in a conserved can that you find in grocery stores. Authentic baba ghannouj is made from grilled eggplant tahini lemon juice and salt. Third, the Lebanese tabboule is made from finely chopped vegetables (parsley, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and burgul). Unfortunately again this tabbouleh was not finely chopped and it lacked the burgul. We were really disappointed. The only positive thing was that the service was quick.
