Traditional Gyro Bowl- meat really is that good at all

Food- got the gyro bowl. Don't recommend. Meat is questionable & not really good. Also got the falafel- it was decent. Better than gyro meat for sure Staff- there was a lady & man working there. The women absolutely hated her job. She was rude & on the phone the whole time. I hate leaving reviews on workers but it was just a horrible experience. I literally will never go back. The man working there was pleasant. Overall I would pass. Try La Tartine on Gay st It's a little further but it's amazing & the owner works the kitchen is so unbelievably nice. Definitely worth the drive.

I know this place is fast casual but the entire staff ignored me, there were four of them behind the counter. I had to flap my arms and basically yell to get them to acknowledge me. I placed an order online and paid ahead of time or I would have walked out. The food was not ready when I arrived. They didn't start making my order until I asked about it. People who walked in had their orders before me! Jokes on me for ordering ahead and tipping. The food sucks, the meat in the gyro tasted like deli ham. The portions are tiny. The service is absolutely bottom tier. Take it from me and the legion of yelpers who have had 1 star experiences these past few months and avoid at all costs.

(4.7out of 5.0) THE SIMPLE GREEK* It's just that simple Greek food the way we like it! Served in a fast-casual style, Simple Greek offers speciality Gyros and Bowls and/or a create your own option. One thing that I particularly appreciated was how they did not compromise their authentic Mediterranean flavors even though they are fast service facility. This is one of my pet peeves with fast casual service but this was not the case with Simple Greek. Another good sign that I wasn't the only one who felt this way was the large number of to-go orders stacked on the shelves. Clearly this is the sport to order from on a Saturday night in! I definitely will be a new regular here!

Very clean and fast! Wonderful Greek food - build your own bowl or pita. The young lady that helped me went through everything very thoroughly and guided me through popular items and her faves. The set up reminded me of a Chipotle where you can build your meal to your liking. The lemon chicken and potatoes were wonderful! I will be back!

Update (August 2022): Ok, so the trick is to not order online; order in person to make sure you get the right order.

This takes me to Wilmington, the largest city in Delaware where I had the opportunity to try out "Opa Opa". Located at the Village of Trolley Square strip mall and adjacent to Delaware Ave & N. Clayton St., this place has been serving up delicious Greek food dating back to 2015. I came here with my lady during the afternoon of Friday 10/10/2025 at around 2:45pm. The interior is bright, spacious, ample room for dining in, and pays homage to the blue and white Greek colors. Additionally, there are several art pieces that represent some of the more popular Greek destinations. Sodas, water, and other various beverages are available in a refrigerator across from the register/counter area. Since I was very hungry (and on my way north to Philadelphia), I decided to go with something that will carry me through the rest of the afternoon. I finally decided on their "Chicken Gyro Platter" w/fries. My lady went with their "Grilled Chicken Greek Salad". We didn't get any drinks as our waters is all we needed to enjoy our lunch. Both of our meals are ready in just under 7 minutes while everything is presented to us in a quick and timely manner. I do have to say that if you're starving, this is the place to come! My gyro was a very generous portion that offered huge chucks of seasoned chicken. In fact, the chicken to veggie ratio was 2:1 as they did not skimp on the protein. My pita bread that encased this was warm and made each bite very savory. The fries were also made well; crispy yet soft on the inside. And as you can see from the photo, the salad that my lady got was also huge. As I mentioned, come hungry and you will leave very full. All in all, "Opa Opa" was a very pleasant surprise as Wilmington offers a lot of ethnic food in all directions. This place also offers very generous hours as they are opened for business Monday through Saturday from 10:30am-10:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am-9:00pm. With above average customer service, a spacious inside dining area, reasonable prices, and generous food portions, this place earns a perfect five-star rating from me.

I came for their "Super Tuesday" deal, which included the Gyro Platter with fries for just $9.95. The gyro was packed with lots of lamb meat, onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki, plus a good helping of fries on the side. Delicious food, great value, and a pleasant atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

The massive dessert case greeted me, brimming with colorful delicious-looking pastries, cakes, and pies. I was seated promptly and handed menus which included their specials of the day; everything from lasagna to moussaka to stuffed peppers to barbecue ribs. My waitress, Dee, came over to ask for my drink and went away with my order. She appeared again quickly with my coffee, which was hot, and honestly - better than the standard cup of coffee in most places. Mmmm As I waited for my order I couldn't help but notice how happy their patrons are. It's 1:30pm on a weekday so I see a lot of people who look like retirees, along with a smattering younger diners and some folks in work uniforms. A couple was leaving and stopped to have a friendly conversation with one of the people who worked there. It's obvious they've known each other for a while, regulars. A table over starting singing "Happy Birthday" to their friend. The 70's and 80's songs were enjoyable without curbing conversation. My food came out faster than expected and was piping hot. Toast options are white, wheat, or rye. I requested it dry as I don't want it slathered with margarine or something unidentifiable. It came dry but they included two mini containers of real butter with it. Heaven! Dee came over and checked on me in a bit, offered me more coffee. More yum. Mmmm. Total cost for a Florentine omelette (spinach and feta cheese), a whole lot of home fried potatoes, two slices of toasted bread with real butter and jelly, coffee, and a comfortable friendly atmosphere: $14.45. I couldn't finish it and took about 1/3 of the plate home for later. I have no idea why they're not between 4-5 stars for a diner. Food is solid, coffee is fresh and hot, service is quick and friendly. I think they're worth every penny.
