But I had a vegan guest and the newtown square store got a better rating so I went to newtown square with 7 of us. Tables were bolted to the floor so to accommodate our party I moved a chair. I was directed to move it back before leaving. I did not. Tables and floor were dirty. I asked for a table to be cleaned and was told "we're under staffed" Three empty beverage dispensers. Ran out of Harrissa sauce, eggplant, roasted vegetables etc....by the time I ordered last....three or four of my guests were finished their meal...so I made mine 'to go' and they headed off for ice cream Come on guys ...do better. I could tell I was their first order because they thought I was DoorDash and another employee had to take my order instead to realize these are prepaid. I wish I could give this a zero star review. I ate their Sunday night with some friends-- all of us who didn't receive their food until 6:30 when the pickup time was 6. My best friends pita was entirely wrong in every way-- and not to mention falling apart. My other friends bowl was maybe 1/2 full and she complained of it tasting weird My bowl had maybe 1/2 serving of meat, my lettuce was visually dark brown and tasted off from the moment I ate it. I ate about 1/3 of the bowl and began to feel nauseated, so I threw it in the trashcan. This nausea carried through the night as well. At first I was only mad about the horrible service but now two days later I am sitting here with a HORRIBLE stomach virus. I threw up yesterday and today, and my bowels have been a complete wreck with stomach pain so bad I have cried. I didn't eat hardly anything Monday, and these symptoms started as early as 4am Tuesday -- and this is definitely the explanation. Went to CAVA in Newtown Square because the restaurant next door was a mess. The vibe was great at CAVA. Everyone working hard to get the food out. The food was delicious. One employee was cleaning and restocking drink station and tables at this busy time. But the thing that really impressed me was the manger walked around and checked with every customer to see how their food was. You never see that anymore especially with fast food. (I hated calling this fast food because it was fresh and delicious). The manager checked on customers on the patio too. What a great experience. Well. I want it to be good. And I want to write a review that's favorable. But I can't. Ordered online for a 1:00 pickup. Waited until 1:35 for my order. So to start, a little ticked off that i had to wait over a half hour for my order after arrival. They had probably 30 people come in, order there and leave before my meal was prepared. I was one of about seven people with 1:00 orders that sat waiting while this all went on. Two people actually ordered, ate in, and left while we waited for our food. Now the food. I decided to order here based on good reviews and the promise of fresh, healthy, good tasting fare. What I got couldn't have been further from that. To the point where I just took two bites after returning to the office, spit the second out and threw the rest in the trash. I ordered a simple pita with braised lamb, romaine, kalamata olives, pickled onions and cucumbers with tzatziki. I could smell something a little funky as soon as I opened it. One bite and I wasn't sure. Second bite and I got a mouthful of the most horrendous lamb I think I've ever had. Like spoiled rotten bad. Mushy cucumber and spoiled lamb. Enough said. That was absolutely disgusting. I really wanted to like it. So few healthy options in the area. And I love Mediterranean food....especially lamb. This was probably one of the biggest food disappoints I have had. I love Mediterranean food and have heard about this chain for so long. I was very excited to try it and it was a major let down. First off, the workers were not friendly and not good at explaining the set up. Second off, it did not taste good. Each item was pretty bland and flavorless. My favorite things were probably the corn and wontons which are two things I can buy easily from the grocery store. The falafel was good but they barely put any in. They poured way too much of the dressing on top, so the whole bowl ended up being a liquidy mess. The brussel sprouts in the vegetable mix were hard as a rock and I couldn't even stab them with my fork. It was almost like they used the stems of the vegetables instead of fresh flavorful ingredients. I love mediterranean food. I heard about Cava through a friend, and social media of course. I was slightly skeptical because chains sometimes don't do some foods justice but I went there for the first time ever and I was blown away, no bs lol. Ashley was my server and she was delightful. The service was A1; she was nice and patient, especially with it being my first time. Her suggestions were literally perfect and I ended up digging at the whole bowl before I could even take a picture. The food is maddd flavorful! I didn't eat there but the ambiance was nice too, it's a very chill setting there; very clean also. Overall, 12/10 highly recommend and try the Harissa Avocado Bowl and Strawberry Citrus drink. I went here for a simple bowl and I was charged $3.95 twice for adding "extra protein." The bowl was first $28 and I questioned why it was so expensive. Then she said it was $20 for one bowl. I paid and I emailed Cava customer service and they were not helpful. He claimed I was charged extra because they were sides but I did not order sides. He gave me a $10 credit when thats not even a price of one bowl. I've never dealt with such unhelpful customer service. I should've just went to Chipotle next door!!!! read more
