    Chicken Souvlaki Platter

DELICIOUS!! love it there! food is fantastic!! the one woman who is always there (owner i believe) is hilarious and so sweet!! 10/10 would recommend!!

Was in the area and thinking about Greek food, so I stopped in. This is the same restaurant that used to be located on 113 between Downingtown and Lionville. I really enjoyed that place. In Paoli... Parking is very spacious. Restaurant and table were both clean. My server was the same lady from the previous location, and she is wonderful. I ordered the Traditional Gyro with fries, and it did not disappoint. Phenomenal taste. 12 noon on a Monday, and there was a good lunch crowd. 5-Star. Glad I found The Olive Tree again. I'll be back real soon.

Omgosh! The best Greek food ever!! So delicious! We stopped here after a nearby hike. It had wonderful reviews on Yelp. So happy we did!! I will definitely make the long drive from home to come back. I absolutely recommend this restaurant. It is BYOB.

Wonderful food and very cute atmosphere. Even the fries were amazing - not exactly what you go to a Greek place for, but a welcome surprise! They have a great selection (including a decent vegetarian variety) without it being an overwhelming amount of choices. On the way out, the woman who waited on us even gave us some free holiday sweets (which were also delicious)! It was a very kind gesture on what was an otherwise stressful day. We aren't local but will definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.

Food was incredible, 1 platter is essentially 2 meals so definitely worth the price. Quick seating, clean, friendly staff.

I discovered this place from Yelp and am so glad that I did. I really like their shawarma platters. All of the meats (chicken, beef, lamb) are good. I am usually not a fan of lamb because of the games taste but it is not noticeable here. I like the hummus as a side and it comes with a delicious piece of bread, that smells amazing if you pop it in the oven for a few minutes. They also have an option to sub the rice for veggies in the platters. I enjoy dining in because the service and ambiance are nice. It is also convenient for take out. My only gripe is that they use styrofoam takeout containers so the hot food does burn into the containers, which releases toxic chemicals. Definitely worth a stop for food! Located in a plaza with plenty of parking.

I didn't hold out hope for battered fries, but they were surprisingly good for frozen fries. I didn't give them a 5 because of the hummus appetizer. The hummus was unnaturally smooth. It tasted fine, but whipped texture was a little disconcerting. Pita bread is kept is little plastic bags that they might microwave before serving. Bread is fresh and warm when you open the bag, but it degrades quickly.

I'm providing this honest review as a constructive feedback for improvement…read more We came across this place online but were only able to try it recently...I was honestly disappointed by many things: First, when a place advertises shawarma meat and posts videos of the famous Lebanese shawarma revolving cone that grills the marinated meat as the cone turns, you would expect that the shawarma plate you order is an authentic shawarma meat cut off the shawarma cone...unfortunately, this was not the case at cafe baladi. I respect the owner who's advertising authentic homemade Lebanese food but the shawarma meat we got was not an authentic shawarma meat...this was meat that was cooked either in a pan or in the oven and was not tender because it was not probably marinated and it's not grilled on the shawarma cone. Placed that have the famous shawarma cone you can usually see in the restaurant either behind the counter or through a window in the back - this was not the case. Second the plate included the choice of hummus or baba ghannouj and tabbouleh...we picked baba ghannouj and we got the tabbouleh...again, the baba ghannouj did not taste at all authentic nor homemade...it tasted like the baba ghannouj in a conserved can that you find in grocery stores. Authentic baba ghannouj is made from grilled eggplant tahini lemon juice and salt. Third, the Lebanese tabboule is made from finely chopped vegetables (parsley, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and burgul). Unfortunately again this tabbouleh was not finely chopped and it lacked the burgul. We were really disappointed. The only positive thing was that the service was quick.

I started off with their spinach pie. It was what I would describe as a roll studded with sauteed spinach and onions and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. When asking the waitress, I asked if it would be similar to spanakopita, she said it was, but the heavy doughy bread was not really what I had hoped for or expected. Was it good, yes. Would I order it again, no. For my main I went with the Lamb Kebab in Pita. Grilled lamb, lettuce, tomato, parsley, onions, and a light hummus spread. The lamb was a little chewy but the flavors of the fresh vegetables and the seasoned lamb blended well together. I am not always the biggest fan of hummus and find that it tends to be too gritty for my texture pallet. However, this spread was mixed with a creamy sauce of some kind that really brought out the flavor without that grittiness that you sometimes find in hummus. The food came out fast, from the time we sat down till we finished our food it was just under an hour. So overall a good experience. When it came time to pay, we never received an itemized bill, we were just given a total. Later on, doing the math, we found that for the two bills at our table, both were considerably different than the prices listed on the menu, even after adding on the standard 6% tax. Based on the differences, we can only assume that the prices listed on the menu and website are no longer the actual price of the meal. Or, both our bills just happened to be messed up. We can't really say. But that alone for me changed this from a 5 star experience to a 3. The Grill is listed as a 5.2 currently on my Beli, and again, for me I do not like transparency on pricing or total charges but the food itself and the ambiance is a really nice experience.

I wasn't totally sold, as I had never been and wanted to go somewhere I knew, but my friends said, No, no, THIS is the place. And I'm glad I listened, because they were correct. I had the vegetable falafel platter, with rice, and it was excellent. The food came out quickly and was super-hot, maintaining that heat until I'd finished. I don't know how they did that, but one of my complaints with eating just about anywhere is that halfway through my meal I wish I could stick it in a microwave for a minute and get that heat back. But these falafels maintained their temperature and were absolutely delicious. They have a soda fountain that you access yourself, which I love. Plenty of hot sauces and other toppings, as well as a fridge full of a variety of interesting-looking drinks, sodas and yogurt-sodas, and other things that looked tempting, perhaps for another visit. The staff here is very cool. Both of the folks that we talked to were friendly, and they sure got that food together quick! They gave us a sincere greeting and goodbye at the end of our meal. I will definitely be back here next time I'm down in KoP area. Great food and friendly service--and the price was also not bad at all. What else can you ask you for?
