The steak here is amazing!! We got the delmonico which is apparently their ribeye and it was delicious! The raw oysters were great as well! The steak with the raw oysters and the calamari was definitely enough for two people! The Brussels sprout side was also delicious! Service was great here and everyone was so nice! Best steak in the area for sure read more

4 stars for great service. I came to Joey Chops to try their oyster's rockefellar. I saw someone on tv eating those style of oysters and I was curious to try it. I ordered takeout online. I got a text message that my order was ready in about 20 minutes. Service was pleasant on pickup. The oyster's is a apepitizer that comes in three. I believe it's broiled and they have spinach and cheese on top. When I tried it, I thought the toppings was good but I didn't like the texture of the oyster. Eww. Oyster's are aquired taste and I'll stick to eating them fried. read more

This was our first time at Joey Chops. While we were driving up from Virginia, we tried stopping at a popular establishment for a cheesesteak, but the line went forever. So we made a 4pm reservation at Joey Chops. It had always been on a list of things to visit when we are in the area. Parking is a large lot shared with various businesses. We did not have a problem locating a parking spot. Once we were parked we walked in and were seated immediately. The interior is dark in what I call a main dining area which was to the left. But to the right is the bar area and the outdoor seating. That area was bright. Could be because the door was open to the outside dining patio. The dishes were cute. The seating was comfortable. The whole aesthetic was met in many ways, even to the bathrooms. The bathrooms were large, comfortable and they offered extras like lotions and mints. Our waiter Joey was amazing. He was very attentive. The other staff were great as well. From other waiters, waitresses, kitchen staff and food runners. They were all helpful, kind and attentive. We ordered various items off the menu including dessert. I had the She Crab Soup. They had a nice take on it. I live in Virginia so it was a different taste than what I have there, but it was delicious. My son devoured his grilled Mediterranean Bronzino. He had no complaints. The portions were decent. My husband had the Prime Delmonico. He loved it and it was cooked perfectly. I over heard the table behind us thinking about ordering it as well. I almost turned around and said to order it because my husband did and loved it. But, I stayed in my lane hehe. For sides we have the lobster Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts and the blue crab fried rice. Ok, that fried rice was pretty dang good. I was surprised by it honestly. I'd get it again. The lobster Mac n cheese had good chunks of lobster in it and it was perfectly cheesy. The Brussels sprouts had a sweet flavor to it, from the I think pomegranate glaze. It was not overly sweet, it complemented the sprouts well. Last but not least, dessert. I ordered the cheesecake cart experience. Let me just say my cheesecake expectations have gone up. Ha! My cheesecake better be wheeled out on a cart with all the toppings. The cheesecake itself was creamy and sweet. It was the first slices as well. It was fresh. The toppings were perfect, chocolate, fresh whipped cream, strawberries and a brûléed top. The bruleed topping was my go to immediately. We also had an ice cream flight. The pistachio was a fan favorite. Pricing was on point and expected for this type of establishment. I honestly feel the food and presentation meet the cost. We will definitely be returning. read more

Pretty solid steak house. Ocean Prime is still in the lead, but Joey Chops is a close second. Although my 10 oz. filet was slightly over-charred on the end it was perfectly cooked internally, medium well. The lobster was the star of the show. Pretty solid Old fashion from the bartender, who was pretty cool. read more

Joey Chops - Westholme Wagyu Teres Major - Steakhouses Near Me - Malvern, Pennsylvania

This place isn't a 3 but going by my other reviews, it's really not a 4 - in fact overall we were a little disappointed. Everything was good but with a bill including tip to be over $260 for the two of us, it better be more than just good. Our server Cory was very friendly and informed and the place itself looks nice. The Bread with dipping sauce was good. The Green Garlic Escargot was beautifully plated (as were all of our choices) but the sauce needed a "kick" and the Focaccia Points served with it were greasy. The star of the night was the delicious She Crab Soup with Dry Sherry, containing a generous amount of crab. The Wagyu Teres Major Steak with Bordelaise Sauce was a nice serving of sliced steak. It was flavorful but could have been any cut of Prime meat - nothing that made us think we must get this again. We had the same feeling with the Lollipop Lamb Chops with Eggplant, Tomato and Soy Glaze. Both sides, the Whipped Potatoes and the Creamed Spinach, were good. The restaurant provided us with free delicious Profiteroles because we were celebrating an Anniversary, that we enjoyed with Cappuccinos. The place was fairly full by the time we finished dinner so they seem to have a following. The menu is fairly large so there a numerous things to try but I don't think we will be returning any time soon. read more

Absolutely incredible experience here tonight!! My partner and I went out for our 5 year anniversary and it was the best experience ever. We were new customers and we got free wagyu sliders. They were the best sliders I think I ever had. The salmon crispy rice was spicy but delicious and the wellington was so flavorful and cooked really well. Kind and attentive staff and beautiful interior. Thank you for such an awesome experience! read more

Exceptional food, but even more extraordinary service! Joey Chops in Malvern never disappoints--the food is consistently phenomenal, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible team. Joey's has become our go-to spot for life's biggest milestones. The night before I was induced with our daughter, Kennedy, my husband and I came here to celebrate. When our second wedding anniversary rolled around, there was no question where we wanted to go. Dining out with a newborn can be nerve-wracking, but the staff made us feel so welcome that we were able to completely relax and savor our dinner on the patio. The highlight of the night, though, was Brett. He consistently goes above and beyond, but this time he truly outdid himself--he actually crafted a handmade baby bib out of a Joey's employee t-shirt for our little girl! It was such a thoughtful, endearing gesture that we will never forget. Huge thank you to the entire team, and Brett especially, for making our celebration so special. Five stars all around! read more

We just went to Joey Chops. The food and drinks were great, but the real story that prompted this review was the staff. From top to bottom, beginning to end, everyone was fantastic. The hostesses were great. The bartender had great banter. Our server Jayden was so kind and charming that it was next level. We've been there several times before. We'll be back again for sure. read more

I came here for a work dinner one night. We were still waiting for our party so we stood by the bar and got drinks while we wait for the others to arrive. I got this fantastic fall highball drink. It was delicious :) We then sat down once everyone showed up. We ordered a variety of appetizers including lobster dumplings (yes amazing but would have loved more filling overall), grilled scallops on the half shelf (pretty good), lollipop lamb chops (amazing char and seasoned very well!) and green garlic escargot ( I couldn't eat it since it has pine nuts but my coworker said it needed seasoning and it was swimming in sauce). So far a good start of food overall. Our waitress was very attentive and the chef even came out personally talked to me and another coworker that has dietary restrictions. I would say service is top notch we were taken care of very well! After the appetizers it took a long time (40-45 mins) for our entrees to come out. I go the prime New York strip which came pickled radishes. For my sides I decided to go with the lobster Mac n cheese and garlic Parm brococolini. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, the fat was rendered very well. Needed a tad more seasoning but other than that this was the best steak I've had in a very long time! The sides were also very good but needed a dash of seasoning. Overall we all enjoyed our meals I think. Would love to return for other drinks and happy hour next :) read more

First off I love the ambiance. We were there at night. It was dark and softly lit. Quiet and open, but it still felt cozy and intimate. The wine, the salad, oysters, whipped potatoes - it was all good. The 6 ounce filet mignon was a perfect cut, juicy with a lot of flavor. It was the best steak I have had here in PA since moving here 7 years ago. The only downside of the night was dessert. However I gave JC all the stars because other than this night (Valentine's Day) I rarely order dessert, so I wouldn't stop going someplace based off their dessert. I'm posting a picture because you have to see how it came to us. The strawberries not only looked gross, but were gross and the cheesecake was falling apart - this is nit picky though. It was just more surprising. I will be back! Just not for cheesecake. lol read more

Overall, I would gave this place a 4.5. I went here with a friend who also lives with people who are not steak eaters. I enjoy a good steak from time to time so we thought we would give this place a try because it wasn't too far and they had some of our favorites. We started with snails and the onion soup. My dining partner enjoyed her soup. The snails came in a bubbling cast iron with lots of butter and spinach. They were tender and accompanied by some toast that was a bit over buttered. We both ordered the teres major, a cut of steak not usually found on menus. This is a delightful cut, not quite as tender as a filet mignon but much more flavorful. It comes with no sides (we ordered a salad and creamed spinach- both good) but a bit of watercress and pickled onion which I could have done without. This was perfectly cooked medium for my dining partner and medium rare for me. For dessert we got a cheesecake (there is a cart with lots of toppings you can choose) and the salted caramel cookie with ice cream. Both better than average. Service was friendly and attentive There is a 3.5% upcharge for use of credit card. read more

We went on a Monday, which was great in itself (not crowded). The food was great, the customer service was superb (Jayden our waiter). The atmosphere was great, even better after they turned on the fire pit (at my request for the aesthetics). Lets not forget about the cocktails, #1 all day long. Definitely will be going back soon. read more

So I've given this place enough tries (maybe 5 times). So underwhelming. Good location- not bad vibe. Food and service sub par. Tonight was third time I ordered a $90 steak - and it came out well done (ordered medium every time). Beyond sub par food- over priced. And- they charge you a surcharge to use your credit card- which is dumb and ridiculous. Just raise your already high prices if you need more money. I recommend- spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Also- manager makes rounds to see if everything to your liking- but his body language and dismissive nature spoke volumes. read more

We enjoyed our dinner here-the food was really well prepared and we were able to have a quiet conversation as we were seated on the other side of the low wall from the main room. I had the shrimp cocktail which was really good-extra large shrimp and a nice sauce. We had a filet and also the Teres Major steak which I hadn't eaten before. It was more firm than the filet and was served sliced, more like a steak frites preparation and was very good. Our server was new however very attentive and was able to get answers to any questions we had about the menu. Overall a solid meal. read more

We wanted to have a great meal in a nice place as part of our vacation time. Joey Chops really delivered. The restaurant may be at the end of a strip mall, but once you're inside it has a nicely warm ambiance and white tablecloths that really lend the feel of a higher end steakhouse. Our server, Joe, was extremely friendly and personable. He was extremely knowledgable and informative as we made our selections and attentive without being at all intrusive. The food was phenomenal, prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. We will definitely be returning again and can't recommend Joey Chops enough. read more

Food took 1 hour and we got there at 4:10 pm. No explanation. It was good, not great. I didn't enjoy the sides. I had the filet and the best part was the sauce and mushrooms. Decor does not work for me at all, especially at those prices- needs a makeover for walls and Ceiling especially. read more

First, the best part of this restaurant was the service. Well done and we were treated well with very attentive servers. They did not have a lot of people in the restaurant, so we were given great care. The food however was shockingly bad. We spent $375 with tip for the three of us and that included one glass of wine. Very expensive for below average food. We were going to go into Philly to our favorite steak house but changed our minds because of the weather. Thought we would give this steak house a try since it was local. We had two Steak Dianes that had a funny taste to the sauce. Steak was cooked to desired temp but was really not worth the $52.00 each. The worst part of the meal was the $92 dry aged Rib eye. My husband was really looking forward to it and if possible, it had zero flavor. I mean I cook this all the time on the grill and this was not anything as good as what I buy and grill from the butcher, for half the price. Vegetables were the best part of the meal. Even the mashed potatoes that came with our Steak Diane were odd and almost tasted bad to eat. In my whole life I never wrote a bad review like this before but I think if you spent this much money, most people would be disappointed. I want local business to stay around and that shopping center has had so much turnover that I hope this review helps them get back on track. It was a Monday night and maybe their best chef was not working. read more

Food is good. But this is yet another restaurant charging people for paying with a credit card. Were it not for credit cards, they wouldn't get the business...and they're charging you money to pay them?? I'm already paying outrageous interest rates and annual fees...to be charged with paying the bank fees of a large restaurant conglomerate is insulting. Tips will be restricted until this practice ends! read more

This was a pretty epic dinner date. Started off with a Smokey manhattan. Love the presentation of that! And a passion fruit martini for me. 2 dozen oysters in and we started getting hungrier for the meats and sides! Kids ordered the wagyu sliders which of course I had to sample. Snow crab legs were perfect for the kids who love that too. Fresh baked focaccia with a fresh roasted tomato dip In. Escargot came next and that green buttery garlic goodness was sopped up with all the toasties available. Next came a tuna steak cooked to perfection as well as the med. rare steaks. We got a couple of cuts of steak which I forget what we ordered but one was a tender wagyu that cut like butter. lobster ravioli, crab fried rice, mashed potatoes better than your moms and perfect not to crisp and not too soft asparagus. EVERYTHING was spot on. Dude came to check in regularly and didn't mind packing up the leftovers even if it was like a ravioli here a salad bite there, a steak bite a bone to gnaw on for the dogs. It was good times. And the best was the cheesecake cart to select out all the toppings and sides to swizzle around in the giant New York style fluffy cheesecake. Love love love Can't wait to return again! read more

Went here w my daughters for a birthday dinner and it was nice. Service was attentive, meals were prepared to our specs and the food was great. Been here twice. It's fine, but overpriced for what you get. Tonight we went out for a nice dinner and ended up sitting in the bar area, which was fine comfort wise. There was an incredibly rowdy party that at least twice devolved to twerking. Luckily they left pretty quickly after we got there, but the staff lacks discipline. Waiter was overly social and completely forgetful. Mid grade food at high tier prices. Probably the last time I'll be there. read more

Having chosen to try this place out instead of othe steak houses that are closer to my house in top, I was extremely underwhelmed with the quality, quantity and service. Joey Chops has come a long way since opening. They still have some work to do in order to compete with popular steakhouses but it saves you a ride into the city. The restaurant is located in close proximity to a strip mall (restaurants, bars, shops), plenty of parking. The dining room/bar area is comfortable/relaxing. Staff goes out of their way to cater towards guests. Plenty of drink/food options. The bread didn't do much for me. Appetizers were okay. Steak was slightly overcooked but not worth sending back (good flavor). Sides were good and large enough to share. It's a nice restaurant for the area but still slightly lacking the wow factor that you'd expect from a steakhouse. Worth stopping by for a meal! read more

Visited Joeys this past weekend. Love the indoor outdoor vibe. Light and airy with a chic aesthetic. The bartender was very super friendly knowledgeable and crafted and excellent spicy margarita. It was Happy Hour (which you don't find too many places with a Saturday HH so bonus points) but we dined off the regular dinner menu as well. Standout for me was the Warm Shrimp Salad and Lobster Dumplings. The Lamb was a tad over cooked but the delicious sauce it came up with made up for that. Started with cocktails - service was friendly and drinks were good. Shrimp cocktail was great- large and fresh. Cocktail sauce wasn't great. Prefer traditional sauce rather than an Asian flair, but to each their own. Steaks were cooked as ordered, but they slice it. WTF? $100 for a steak and they slice it?
