Ruth's Chris in Newtown Square delivers exactly what you'd expect from the brand--classic steakhouse atmosphere, excellent service, and steaks cooked to perfection. The filets came out sizzling on those signature butter-topped plates and were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Sides like the creamed spinach and sweet potato casserole were rich and indulgent, perfect for sharing. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the space itself feels upscale but comfortable, great for a special night out or celebrating an occasion. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is the pricing--it's definitely on the higher end, and while the quality is there, it's a big splurge. The sides are a fair price, given that they are definitely made for sharing, b but it adds up quickly. That said, for a classic steakhouse experience in the area, this Ruth's Chris is a great option.

My husband and I dined here last night for our anniversary. I've been to a couple of these restaurants at least a dozen times over my lifetime. It was our first time at this particular location, which just opened a couple months ago, and we agreed it was better than either of us had remembered. We had a reservation for 6pm. The gentleman at the front excitedly welcomed us, then promptly seated us at our table adorned with red rose petals and a lovely card. Nice touch! Our servers were equally friendly, and also fun. They willingly answered our questions and gave us recommendations, and their level of attention to our table was just right, even as they got busier throughout the evening. The manager also stopped by to chat with us and congratulate us. From the first bite of bread and butter, we were impressed with the food. Having tried many of their classics, I can attest that the steaks are excellent, but I opted to try something different this time. Everything was cooked to perfection! I ordered a seasonal specialty, the Ahi Tuna Mignon. The fish was beautifully seared, the "garnish" paired well, and the soy-ginger sauce was flavorful. I cleaned my plate. My husband loved his Lamb Chops, and we shared the Grilled Asparagus and Lobster Mac & Cheese -- both also amazing. We received a complimentary cheesecake for dessert, which was delicious. I also enjoyed a Blueberry Mojito with my meal. The restaurant itself is lovely. Obviously it's new, but it's nicely decorated -- fresh and classy, not stuffy. We found the background music to be an interesting choice (90's Reggae at one point), but not bad. Restrooms were clean. Top-notch experience all around. Highly recommend!

Another happy hour, best way to spend Friday Eve. Happy Hour menu is a perfect selection of appetizers, entrees and cocktails. Great seating and personable bartenders.

Went here for a Birthday Dinner. We did the 3 for $55 which you had the option to choose the 8oz steak, chicken or salmon and shrimp. You could upgrade your steak from an 8oz to a 11oz ( we did) for an up charge. You also can add on a lobster tail and shrimp for an up charges as well. It came with one side and dessert. We were told by the manager that they recently open in May 25' and they don't get too much service ( no one really knows they are in Newtown Square just yet)! The service was amazing and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely will be back! I loved the ambiance and the location !!!

Filet Oscar style! Perfection!

The new Ruth's Chris in Newtown Square is truly a 5 star dining experience! Every single person working there was so nice and very attentive! From Portia at the door (and she was who confirmed our reservation), to our waiter Scott, the GM Mike, John and Lidia (sorry if this is misspelled). Absolutely amazing service! Stunning ambience! The food was so fresh and tasty, the drinks made me so happy! A great night to celebrate my birthday! Thanks so much for making this experience so fantastic! Can't wait to come back soon!!

This was the best NY strip steak my husband has had in the last 5 years!

"This is the best steak I've had in the last 5 years!" That was my husband after ordering the New York strip at Ruth's Chris. Going here was a last minute decision. Having been open for just a short period of time, we made a reservation and sat in the bar area. It was quiet being a weeknight although our server was busy, and it took some time to get our drinks. Ruth's Chris martinis have always been my favorite with their blue cheese-stuffed olives. My husband ordered the NY strip, and I ordered the petite filet. We also got a side of the garlic mashed potatoes which is our favorite. I love that you can order a steak exactly how you like it and that the steak comes out on a sizzling plate. It was delicious, but when my husband shared this with our server, I could tell he was delighted and said he would be sure to share this with the chef. We were pleasantly surprised when our server came out with complimentary cheesecakes at the end of the meal. Truly delightful! Keep in mind it is pricey, but you're getting a top notch steak.

Service was attentive although funny in that our server would ask us how our next dish was immediately after it had been placed in front of us and before we had a bite. It happened three times! So maybe not quite as attentive come to think of it. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu (sharing the appetizers) which is a good deal, and I don't remember so many items involving an upcharge so that's new to me. - fried calamari - 4/5, very good, nice aioli dipping sauce, breading was consistent and not too heavy, light tasting and delicious - greek salad - 4/5, I usually love this and it was still delicious and fresh but I noticed that 1) they've changed the name so it's no longer called horiatiki, and 2) we had a very small piece of feta with the salad whereas in the past the ratio of feta to the tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, cucumbers has been more even. And now there's a $6 supplement charge for this appetizer which seems like A LOT for a salad. Next time I might skip this because of the upcharge - lavraki - 5/5, this light white fish is just the right amount of flavor and portion and my go to choice when I go to Estia. Also a $6 upcharge but this seemed more worth it - baklava - 5*/5, also a $2 upcharge but worth it as these four pieces of cylindrical baklava, while a little difficult to eat (use your hand? try to cut a cylinder with a fork?) it is an excellent baklava We went at 5pm before it got too busy and were seated away from the bar so we were able to have a quiet conversation but as the restaurant filled it definitely got noisier and I would not want to be seated near the bar. They do have a lovely outdoor area at the front and side of the restaurant so we could have sat outside since last night was quite mild in weather. One downside of the prix fixe is no zucchini and eggplant chips which are my favorite, and I didn't want to order that on top of the appetizer, entree, and dessert. Next time!

I was celebrating my birthday a few days early. There was plenty of parking available. The hosts at the front desk and our waitress/wait staff were all very, very kind. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone here. The interior is decorated beautifully. The restaurant provides complimentary hummus with sliced bread or pita bread. We chose the pita bread. The hummus was delightful. Super creamy and flavorful. I ordered the Dionysius cocktail which was quite refreshing and light. I was in the mood for a carbonated drink and this was perfect. The Estia Chips are a MUST, especially if you're a zucchini and eggplant fan. These little half moons were fried to perfection and come with a side of tzatziki. I was sad when we finished them. Their tuna is cooked rare (it's reflected on the menu as such) but oh so yummy. I was expecting a steak, but instead, squared pieces of tuna wrapped around sautéed spinach were served to me. Highly suggest this! One thing about me is I always leave room for dessert, and I was with my fiancé who loves cheesecake so we asked for that. The pistachio crust was excellent. I had never tasted anything like this before. It was my first time having Greek food, but it definitely won't be my last!

I enjoyed the osso bucco very much and had a hearty pasta appetizer. Service and wine excellent. Now in corona mode. 9/11/20 This weekend I enjoyed an outdoor experience there on a Friday. 9/11/20 There was a duo called Almost June playing outside. Great, mellow tunes and smooth voices. The beet salad was quite nice with fresh mozzarella instead of the typical goat's cheese. i also enjoyed the "torta" sandwich. It was a large, tasty crab-cake served burger style probably 6-7 oz. w lettuce tomato, garlic mayo, and some truly delicious fresh-cut fries w skin onI also enjoyed the lemoncello chicken served w fingerling potatoes, and haricot vert. My dining partner complained about our waitress who seemed not to wear a mask at all, even though she was running inside and back out. All other staffers had their masks on as far as I could see when they came our or when I visited the clean, indoor bathroom The inner dining rooms were also operating at what appeared to be full Corona capacity. She also complained that the chicken was dry, I did not agree. It may have been pre cooked for quick delivery upon ordering. The food came out super quickly so there must have been a great deal of advanced prep involved. I know my dining partner gave a bad review so I am giving a good one w constructive criticism I hope to return to La Porta Via and change my rating to 5 stars. I hope they invite Almost June to return and if they have other mellow music there I'd like to see and hear that too

Finally, a NOW OPEN flag was placed atop the sign so my lady and I pulled in to find it. Tucked in the back behind the office building you will find this deceptively small looking building that is actually very spaceous inside. On the shelves you'll find a number of italian specialty items: dried pastas, desserts, chips etc. In the cases you will find prepared foods, salads and sauces. The day we went in there was a refridgerator problem with the glass case and all the food items were stacked on top of each other in a case that worked. We grabbed some cooked stuffed shells and some tomato sauce to reheat for dinner the next evening. The sauce was tasty and fresh but sweeter than I like (tasted like sugar was used which I will never understand as the tomatoes are sufficient.) The shells were spectacular - absolutely delicious. Their website with a full menu is under construction and will be here soon. This is a welcome addition to us folks out here. Closer than Carlinos in West Chester yet more limited compared to the offerings you can get at Carlinos, La Porta Via does offer a solid number of items I intend to try.

Unfortunately, we discovered it's only on the lunch menu. Side bar: The menu on Google Maps did not mention there were separate lunch and dinner menus. I saw the Crab Stuffed Mushroom Caps were highly recommended, so we ordered them. They were good. Personally, I like my crab stuffing a little drier, but they were still flavorful. For my beer, I had the Juice Cleanse. I liked that a lot. Easy drinking and probably the healthiest thing with "juice cleanse" in the name I've had in years. The staff was excellent and looked like they were genuinely having fun working there. That energy matters. And of course, Jen was a hit as usual. She ended up posing for two pictures with people during dinner.

It was a great spot for people watching, and spread out enough to have our meeting without bleeding into other tables conversations. We didn't have any drinks, but the guys were saying they aren't fans of the beer they serve. Probably not a good sign when part of your name is Taphouse & Brewery! The waitress was awesome and patient. Most of us had the NE Clam Chowder to start. It didn't disappoint! I may sound like a bacon hater, but I would have enjoyed the soup more if it had a little less bacon. Otherwise the soup was creamy and delicious with a decent amount of clam. The bacon just overpowered the other flavors. I also had the Prime Rib Sandwich - sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, fontina cheese, horseradish sauce. It was a good portion, delicious and held together well. The flavors were balanced, bread was fresh, meat was tender, and it had a welcoming horseradish kick. The rest of our crew had a mix of salads and sandwiches and there were thumbs up all around. The bathrooms and the entire restaurant were clean, spacious and inviting for a chain. Looking around at the other diners I would say Sedona's is a good spot for any occasion. Can't go wrong here for grub, but unfortunately I can't tell you if the booze experience would add a star or take one away :)
