I was born with an intermittent fasting stomach; I've never been a breakfast-eater and brunch is gross to me! I mention this because I've never taken my son out for breakfast foods so it was great to have this experience. My little one had a HUGE "Go Go Bananas" It said it was "hot cakes stuffed with Bananas" but they were just plain. It mentioned caramel on top which wasn't there (they subbed syrup without asking); frustrating and unprofessional. It also had a slice of poundcake French Toast topped with grilled bananas, and then banana French Toast with granola. It was a decadent treat of gluten and sugar that we don't normally eat at home. My son was really happy. My burger was okay but not memorable, and the fries were that awful batter-dipped cheap kind that I don't eat and they just made the whole thing "mid" as the kids say. Service was very very slow per the crowd and it being the end of the shift. Our server was cheerful and I told her to take her time, but I didn't realize we'd be left waiting forever for water refills, 30min for food (kitchen's fault), and at least 10min after asking for check. I still tipped well over 20% but their staff seems too spent and overwhelmed from the crazy crowds that are so unusual this time of year. In summary, it was great for decadent breakfast foods, diner-quality for my burger, and while I understand how taxed our server was, the service really dragged. I had seen reviews commenting on the wait but do beware that it's still suuuper bad apparently at all times of their hours, and even random weekdays when people are enduring their Trump staycations. There are complaints in some of the reviews here that the food is "underseasoned" which is something that I would like to argue wholeheartedly. Breakfast is very subjective; especially standard American breakfast staples like omelets, eggs and bacon platters, waffles. However, that is where the underuse of season here is actually a smart strategy. Most of these dishes would be seasoned with salt, pepper, or by some, butter or hot sauce. All these items are readily available and placed on the table in food quantity so that the diner can easily bring their meal to the exact taste that they enjoy. In doing this thought, nothing really shines here. It is all very good, but nothing it really unique. And that is good thing especially when you are looking for a place to enjoy breakfast that's a down-home style meal and you don't want to have to cook. I will definitely be back again for another homestyle breakfast in the future, and the prices are more than reasonable. If you live in the area this is a great place to frequent for a breakfast you would make yourself or would expect to have if you stopped home for the day. The service consisted of two ladies in the dining room and they seemed to complement each other by overlapping duties, if one was busy the other would step up and help out. I have noticed that at other restaurants, one server will let another drown with duties and never help out, I enjoyed seeing the team work in action today. The restaurant itself is a well designed environment even the Men's Restroom was interesting and well kept.
