I was seeking a cake not frosted with Buttercream, or not frosted at all, so I thought I'd give this a try. I really wanted the Taro Cake but whimped out when considering the taste of who I'd be sharing it with, but did get to try it. It taste, both in profile & texture, like a sweet potato. Purchased a Vanilla Strawberry Fresh Cream Cake. It was light in texture, not terribly different from Angel Food Cake, but absent of other flavors. Less sweet cakes often have overtones of almond or citrus that shine through, but this tasted like a vanilla cake minus the sugar. When I sliced into it I was hoping for more of a strawberry puree inside, but it appeared to be just sliced strawberries & a whole lot of unsweetened whipped cream. A little 1 dimensional for me. It was packaged beautifully w/ a lady finger & birthday candle. The gentleman working the counter was super helpful & I look forward to trying the Matcha & other flavors in the future. This one was a miss for me. While I barely have a sweet tooth, I need a little more going on than what was presented. That's a preference, not a criticism. read more

Cute, cozy Asian mom and pop cafe. Love that their drinks and treats have less sugar as the default. I got the strawberry saga which is like a strawberry milk drink with jelly on the bottom. I've been here multiple times and the owner's always kind and gets orders out pretty quick. I got a black sesame crepe cake to go which my partner enjoyed. Everything has a subtle sweetness (which I enjoy and prefer) and you can tell it's all made fresh. I got the mango mochi last time which made me come back today! We have been buying cake/pastry from them for years, even before they opened the store. The quality and taste has always been superb. The owner and people who work there are always very polite and helpful. Some of the pastries maybe on the expensive side, but they look so cute and are always a big hit for children. One good thing is you can order custom cakes from them and whatever idea you have, they will make it work. Just check cakeposer's Instagram page. The owner is too nice to say it, so I will. On the way home (North Wilmington, DE) from KOP, we ended up finding Cakeposer on Yelp. Honestly, we had mid expectations based on experiences at other bakery/cake spots. We were SO wrong. This is not just a bakery/cake spot... it is so much more. Cakeposer is a whole vibe that is difficult to articulate. The genuine, welcoming guy behind the counter, the playlist coming from the speakers, the cute cups with heart stoppers and the delicious, beautiful desserts make this a very unique and special place. 5 or more stars!!!! I blown away by the lovely owners (artisrt) of this unbelievably fabulous "bakery". The confections offered are not your average bakery frozen sheet cake. This place is a "drive distance" to check out the inventive, whimsical works of art cakes place. When I was looking over the glass case, filled with unbelievably beautiful and cute individual works of art, a customer walked in and I observed her order some sort of coffee that clearly she knew what she was doing. This impeccably dressed woman looked like a Korean movie star! I gather they have some Korean specialties and It seems like the word is out. I feel like I'm one of the last people to know about this unassuming gem. I highly recommend checking out they're adorable pastries. That were absolutely delicious. I was blown away by the lemon cake. This is a cake that looks exactly like a lemon, and when cut open, a wonderful moose, sponge cake and candy lemon rind confection delights the senses. This lamon treat sits on a delicious crunchy chewy cookie as well. (see my photos.) They were out of their special mango cake, but I understand it's fabulous and the most popular. I purchased a bunch to take home and try with the kids. We enjoyed a bunch of different specialties, including a cheesecake that was light and airy. I can't wait to go back and try more of their masterpieces. And I will take a few if they're delicious looking croissants, I'm kicking myself that I didn't do it the first time. If you were having a dinner party or hosting special guests check this place out. I live 1 hr away from Cakeposer, got 3 desserts to try, and came back 1 week later to get 5 more desserts . So if this isn't a testament to how tasty these desserts are then idk what is. Recommendations include the matcha tiramisu, strawberry cream cake, matcha Mille crepe cake. The only thing I thought was just okay was the purple potato mills crepe and the peach oolong jelly milk drink. Other than that I love this place and it's so aesthetic inside!! My parents and I ate crepe cakes for my pre-birthday day We got mango and black sesame. The mango was delicious, as expected! The layers truly melted in my mouth, and my parents could not stop raving about it. The black sesame, on the other hand, was very unique. It's been a bad experience with the cakes. Out of the four cakes I tried, only one was acceptable, while the other three were terrible. All the cakes were made with cheaper ingredients, which let me to throw throw away after finished half. Paying same price as Cheesecake Factory and getting half of the quality. Avoid it!! I got the Taro Taro bubble drink, which was made with real taro, instead of the fake taro-flavored powder that seems so ubiquitous at chain bubble tea establishments! The desserts are BIG! I had such a hard time deciding what to get. Next time I'm bringing a friend, that way we can each get a treat and go halfsies, haha. I chose the mango mousse desert. I wish I took a picture-- it was so pretty! It's shaped and decorated to look like a real mango! The outer shell (white chocolate, I think?) gives a light snap, and the fluffy, creamy mousse and the delicious mango-chunk purée inside combines together to give you a mix of textures that really elevates this beyond a basic dessert mousse.
