    Preparing my London Fog
    Jennifer H.

Caught an invite to a private friends & family event; the experience made me a fan! My London Fog made w/ vanilla syrup was executed perfectly. It was warming & had a perfect foam on top. Harissa Breakfast Sandwich was served on the most beautiful, slightly glossy, seeded brioche bun w/ egg, cheese, bacon, & arugula. But what got stuffed down my face the fastest was the kouign-amann. Oh my lord, layer after layer of lacquered pastry w/ this sugared & salty crust. I see why the name of this establishment is "Buttery." I could've eaten this "croissant" all day! Staff was as sweet as the treats. Space seemed transformed w/ a full line of sight from the counter seating & a bright, stay-awhile, vibe.

Wow, Malvern Buttery's baked items are seriously incredible. We tried a bunch of items to go, pecan brownie, cardamom monkey bread, and pumpkin chai cake. The cake was my favorite, super moist and flavorful. The brownie was a cross between pecan pie/a decadent rich chocolate brownie. My husband loved the personal size monkey bread. Can't wait to come back and try the coffee!

ordered the $15 Katsu Chicken Sandwich from Malvern Buttery, and wow... this was not a katsu, it was a catastrophe. I drove all the way there expecting a crispy, golden, mouth-watering sandwich -- and instead unwrapped something that looked like it lost a fight on the way out of the kitchen. Naturally, I called to ask for a refund... and the manager hung up on me. Honestly, that was the fastest service I got all day. Shame it wasn't with the food. For a place with such a great reputation, this whole experience was a shocking plot twist. Food quality: nope. Customer service: aggressively nope. Overall vibe: like ordering katsu and getting chaos. I've legit had better sandwiches at random gas stations during road trips -- and at least they don't hang up on you. Here's hoping Malvern Buttery gets it together, because this was rough.

My best friend introduced me to this spot while I was in town yesterday. HIGHLY recommend, I'm only a bit disappointed we didn't come earlier in the morning to take advantage of the wider assortment of goodies. We came around noon and stayed until they closed, the servers were so generous and allowed us to stay a little past close without making a big fuss about it because we lost track of time. All the servers we interacted with were super personable and took their time with allowing you to view their options without making you feel rushed even though they were super busy. I ordered the Turkey club sandwich, apple bourbon cake and a latte with added vanilla bean and caramel syrup. Everything was great! I was surprised by the variety of food and treat items they had, and I loved the variety of seating options available. The decor gave farmhouse vibes, but it was super comfortable and they maximized the space well as far as seating was concerned. Yes, you're sitting in close quarters but you can still have an intimate conversation without feeling like someone is ease dropping or that you're sitting on top of the people next to you.

Harissa Roasted Veggie Sami & a Speck Focaccia Sandwich

This is a wonderful local spot that understands you eat first with your eyes. Everything in the case is visually beautiful and tastes as delicious as it looks! For the lunch hour everything was fresh and service moved quickly. Very impressed with how pleasant everyone was who worked there. Would have loved one of everything but settled on splitting two sandwich's. Both were 100% outside my comfort zone but were VERY worth trying. The Harissa Roasted Veggie sandwich is my new favorite thing, 11/10 recommend if it is available when you visit. Also came home with a boxed of baked goods to share with the family. HIGHLY recommend the Buttery if you are in the area.

Beef short rib and fried eggs

The canelle and the queen amahn are exquisitely decadent!!! Get them!! It's almost hard to explain thecarmelized croissant. It makes you close your eyes with each mouthful. It's that good! This place is definitely a bakery. Breakfast plates no thank you. I got the eggs and beef short rib. The sauce on the short rib was pretty bad. The breakfast potato's were soggy, blah. Sad that the espresso machines were down today. Dogs are allowed. Saw a little lap dog in there.

We enjoyed our pastries there; the service was quick and friendly, and there's plenty of space to dine.

Really cute bakery/cafe in Malvern! The Canele was delicious but they had so many interesting pastries in the display. I also had the foccacia/proscuitto/arugula sandwich and it was really good. Will def go back to try more pastries but seating is hard to find inside, they have lots outside though

I was seeking a cake not frosted with Buttercream, or not frosted at all, so I thought I'd give this a try. I really wanted the Taro Cake but whimped out when considering the taste of who I'd be sharing it with, but did get to try it. It taste, both in profile & texture, like a sweet potato. Purchased a Vanilla Strawberry Fresh Cream Cake. It was light in texture, not terribly different from Angel Food Cake, but absent of other flavors. Less sweet cakes often have overtones of almond or citrus that shine through, but this tasted like a vanilla cake minus the sugar. When I sliced into it I was hoping for more of a strawberry puree inside, but it appeared to be just sliced strawberries & a whole lot of unsweetened whipped cream. A little 1 dimensional for me. It was packaged beautifully w/ a lady finger & birthday candle. The gentleman working the counter was super helpful & I look forward to trying the Matcha & other flavors in the future. This one was a miss for me. While I barely have a sweet tooth, I need a little more going on than what was presented. That's a preference, not a criticism.

The woman at the counter was kind and smily, helping us to know what the different flavor options were like. We ultimately bought two slices each to share over the next few days at home, but we immediately broke into the Biscoff cheesecake and knew we had chosen wisely. This is hands down the best cheesecake I've ever had. A beautiful layer of caramel on top, perfectly dense cheesecake filling, and delicious cookie crust. I could write a song about it. Maybe I will. This is a 5/5 cheesecake. Maybe more. We also tried the lemon blueberry cheesecake, which I would rate a 4/5. The filling seemed to be more lemon than blueberry, but there were blueberries inside. I would have loved a blueberry swirl as well. But I'm nitpicking. The third flavor we tried was the millionaire cheesecake, with chocolate crunch, chocolate layer (maybe caramel as well, I'm not sure) and chocolate crust. Another excellent flavor, 4.5/5. If you're keeping track you'll know I only mentioned 3 flavors, but we bought 4 slices. That's because we each had to have our own slice of the Biscoff! It's that good! GO GET SOME!

I thought I'd written a review about this place before but to my shock I had not…read more I have been coming here since the day they opened, infrequently beacuse I am diabetic but when I want to spoil my body with delicious sugar, honey, this is *IT*. Now I could tell you all about how perfectly tasty everything is. From the classic banana puddings (I prefer the caramel version myself,) to the cookies, to the pineapple upside-down mini cakes. Yes, I could tell you that. But I want to speak to something deeper. I want to speak to belonging and community; and to fairness. As a biracial person with a brown sister, I feel the pull to support black and brown businesses. It's not a secret. And sometimes you do it, and sometimes you privately think "Damn. I wanna be supportive but this place is a mess." Then there's Sweet Life. NOT that. FILLED with good product at a great price, delivered by owners and staff who actually give a damn about being loving and supportive to all different types of people. And did I mention the sweets are POPPIN'? And to that statement of fairness. Today I came in to place an order, and when the price came up, for a moment I thought "Damn. That is a lot higher than I remembered, but I am not about to question them. They set the price and that price is what they deserve." So I paid. But then I noticed there was more in my bag that I'd asked for, and that there had been a miscommunication. When I tell you that this miscommunication was corrected with swiftness *AND* a smile. No shade. No drama. Just an "Ooops, oh well, here's your refund on the balance." I know this seems very basic but we all know it isn't. We have all been in that awkward situation where as a customer we have to point out an error, and the vendor turns it into a Shakespearan tragedy. Not Sweet Life. "Oops. Sorry! Fixed. Love you." So, to recap: Stunningly delicious sweets. Prices fair as hell. Communicative, inclusive staff doing the right thing. You need to take those money dollers and haul your ass over here TODAY.
