Omlette and Bacon egg and cheese sammie, June 2024

This is a nice Nudy's location in Devon/Strafford close to the Strafford train station and Whole Foods. It's located in a quiant old house. They have seating indoors and outside. The inside space is pretty small, so it's great they have the outdoors as well. They have a small parking lot and larger ones nearby. The breakfast foods are solid and so filling. I've loved Nudy's for years and am happy they are still just as good into the 2020s. The staff is really nice and helpful. They also play fun music near the kitchen. This is probably my favorite Nudy's location. Check it out!

Came here with some coworkers before our work day. I got the crab omelette that came with hash browns and a cold brew. My crab omelette was okay. Not that much meat and the whole omelette needed seasoning. I did like the hash browns since they were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They also needed seasoning. We sat outside on the patio since it was nice outside! Overall everyone seemed to enjoy their meals

Excellent place for a casual brunch. The menu options are huge and the outside seating was great on a cloudy summer day. Sadly I ordered a dish with pita which they were out of so I ate my food as a wrap. It was still tasty and came with chips. I wish they had other side options that came with my meal but I had a wonderful experience overall. The food was served hot and fresh. Our server was also very accommodating for food allergies and was quick to help us. I'd come back if I'm in the area!

Great place to sit outside and enjoy breakfast. It was very busy and the servers seemed slightly overwhelmed. Service seemed to be disorganized. We had two or three servers and they were constantly overlapping. I had ordered a side of bacon and never received it. I didn't say anything because I was afraid it was going to disrupt their service even more. I'm always weary of ordering omelettes and I was reminded why. Eggs are so delicate and easy to ruin. As you can see from the photo, eggs should never be brown. I knew immediately that it had been overcooked and now rubber.

Had a nice breakfast on a beautiful spring day here. Pulled up into the gravel lot, which is a little tight but manageable space-wise. Inside, we requested outdoor seating to the staff, and they were happy to oblige. Had Eggs Benedict and a short stack of pancakes. Quick, friendly service. Tasty food. Bright, cool ambiance outdoors. Perfect way to start the day!

French Toast

We came in for Sunday Brunch. While the place was busy, we were seated quickly and got a very friendly waiter. My girlfriend ordered the French Toast, which looked good but was described as bland by her. I got Huevos rancheros, which was a real letdown - it looked like a salad on a plate, and was a bit mushy (also missed a tortilla). Instead of potatoes on the side, it came with hash browns that were worked in, which did it no favors. We've heard good things about this place, and maybe we didn't order the right things. Again, service and speed was excellent, but the food was sadly not up to par.

When we had walked in, we saw a sign on the door asking patrons to please make sure the door closes fully behind them. However, there was no sign on the other side for people leaving. After the door kept getting left open, letting cold air in, I finally went up to the register to speak with the young woman there. I told her that people keep leaving the door open as they are leaving and asked if she could please put a sign for people leaving the cafe, which might help. I also asked if she could please keep an eye on the door, and let her know I had already had to get up 3 times to shut the door. To her credit, she did ask if we wanted to move to a different table, but it seemed like a hassle at that point. She did say again that she would be sure to keep an eye on the door. Guess what? She did not keep an eye on the door as more people were leaving. My mother also tried to catch her as she was going by, and she didn't stop. She basically ignored us the rest of the time. The young man serving us was polite but just kind of smiled and said sorry with a passive attitude when my mother mentioned the issue as we were paying (we told him we didn't want the coffee drinks after all, we just wanted to pay and leave at that point). I would think business owners would instruct their employees to try to please their customers and make them feel welcome. In the case of an issue, I would expect the employee to want to make an effort to make things right. This was a disappointing experience and I wouldn't recommend the place for this reason.

So many times when I eat out and a savory pie is on the menu I find myself staring at a deconstructed thing. All the ingredients piled on a plate in a lovely gravy with a Pie Puff on top. Good, but not great. In this The Silverspoon already has my vote as they made an honest to god PIE. Full crust top and bottom and when you factor in that the filling was spectacular, the duck juicy and tender and the crust not too flaky and not too crunchy? I was in heaven. Piled atop the Pie was a veritable mountain of watercress and Pomegranate seeds (next time I will set them to the side so I can choose the proper amount per mouthful) and it's here that the Pie really took off. The Pomegranate seeds were little jewels of sweet and tart juice that gave a little pop of color and cool to the delicious duck with every bite. I was so very thrilled with it. I got an opportunity to speak with the new proprietor Michael and he was also an absolute pleasure. The service was friendly and the food was incredible. I will absolutely be back! The only thing I wish was that I had checked my doggie bag before I left, sadly my pie leftovers must have been placed in another bag. That's okay though, it just means that I have to go back and order again :D

Peter, I believe was his name, was so courteous, calm, respectful and nothing was a problem, he just took care of things. The starters of Tuna Tartar and the Arugula Beet Salad were fabulous, so full of mixed flavors, pleasing to all senses. For entrees my friend had the Blackened Shrimp ABLT salad, so decadent, so rich in flavors and content. I had the leftovers the next day, it was still fabulous. I had the Lamb Bolognese. We all shared the General Tso Cauliflower, which was delicious and fun! I also enjoyed the Crab Bisque as a starter and the Fish Tacos for my entree. Everything was hot and tasty, and the portions were just right. No complaints. Initially the food was brought out pretty quickly, then service slowed wayyy down. It did start to get busy, but not unmanageably; however, it eventually felt like we were forgotten about. It took forever to get our check, and the system wouldn't recognize my Burtons membership info to give me points for the visit. But I mentioned the date in the beginning because the AWS outage occurred that day. I think that was ultimately the issue, but the lack of communication and check-ins from our server added an element of frustration to our experience that could have been prevented. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone that I know. Sure it's nice inside and they said everything they make is homemade which is great, but the food doesn't taste nor the drinks and the service couldn't hit the mark. This was a disappointment.
