I like that they have a somewhat seasonal and local menu. We went for a relaxing Friday night dinner. The house made pierogi and kielbasa were good. The pierogi were crispy and well filled with a good potato and cheese mix. The kielbasa was well grilled. The mahi special was cooked well and plated nicely The seafood cavitelli was ok in my opinion. Plenty of seafood and cooked well. There was spice In the sauce that I did not like. The apple bread pudding was good. Warm with apple pie filling and caramel. I will say that we had really good service as well read more

The people at the front gave off awkward vibes, ANd as for our server...she's domethin'. There was a lot of snark and attitude detected, and we were a big party, which means she's automaticaly raking in 20% on a substantial bill. And we all got alcoholic drinks, and many with desserts. The Smoked Old Fahioned was very not good. It smelled nice, but tasted like cherry cough syrup. It was like smoked cherry cordial with a splash of well-shelf bourbon. It's probably not literally well-shelf... just an emphasis on how unpalatable this was and therefore expensive for what it is. I didnt pay $15+ for some cherry cordial. Waitress vocalized distaste when we wanted to spit checks - which we told her before placing orders. Then she gave sh** about seating arrangements; since we wanted to split checks she ordered us to sit by how checks are being split. That's a new one... She said she would have to write separate checks... an obvuous approach... I endorse that plan smh. Wouldn't that be easier when it comes to "splitting checks" when all is said and done? To treat us as separate tables but still tack on 20% per check? As we are wrapping up dinner and everyone else was looking over dessert, I told her she could bring mine now since I have a 45 min drive back to CC and I have perishables. People are now eating their dessert and she's still fussing aroundat her kiosk. I eventually approach her and asked for mine again. She got super frustrated and unprofessional, and said us wanting to split bills is (exact words) "tumultuous." Does she even know what that word means? "I thought you wrote separate checks?" But she's trying to figure out how to split like $8 rolls among like 12 people. She was like, "Then who is paying for the rolls?" That is her job to find out. I am a guest, not the host of the party. I only know three other people there. She walks to the table and says (again..exact words), "Who's paying for the rolls?" As if we are planning on dining and dashing with basic dinner rolls. Why? Because we are a table of minorities? Had we been a table of all white, would she have asked HOW we would like to have it split? I was in the dine-in food service industry for several years. I had thought splitting checks was a very common practice, and I absolutely did NOT ask patrons to sit in specific order. White Dog in UC didn't do that either (or anywhere else). Perhaps White Castle is more within her playing field. Some courses in sensitivity training may aid in her professional development. And they wanted to charge like $4 per person since someone baked cupcakes.... reminder that most people also ordered dessert on top of all this. They can go pound the sand. read more

White Dog Cafe is actually so so good! We went for brunch for my sister's birthday. It's pricey but everything was extremely delicious. And the ambiance is really nice -- fancy farm to table with plush seating and pillows. If you're going to get an appetizer, I would highly recommend getting the snack board to share (unfortunately this was eaten before I got to take photos). It includes delicious biscuits paired with the most perfect sausage gravy, thick cut bacon, fruit, croissant, warm donut holes, deviled eggs, and dips/jams. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE. The gravy is jaw-dropping and perfect with the texture of the biscuit -- trust me, you have to try it!!! The donut holes are fluffy and soft fritters. I also really loved the deviled eggs' flavor. For my entree, I got the breakfast pot pie (in the photo) which had the same incredible gravy and biscuit crust as the appetizer, topped with a crispy fried egg. My sister had the Challah French Toast (peach compote) which was also incredible -- perfect without being too sweet. Both were huge portions. Service was also excellent -- our waitress very kindly brought out our toddler nieces' kids' meals first along with our appetizers. She even brought out a little sorbet on the house for my sister's birthday (which also was very very good!) read more

Had a lovely dinner with coworkers at the Wayne location. It was a Monday evening so fairly quiet and we arrived at 8:00 pm. Although we were one of their last tables, we never felt rushed by the restaurant team. Our group had eclectic food tastes, but everyone agreed that the whipped ricotta dish and bread basket were crowd pleasers. The portions are ideal for sharing, and everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared. This restaurant has a charming atmosphere, with cozy, whimsical decor that makes it feel both inviting and unique. The terrace dining area is lovely and provides a relaxing setting for outdoor dining. read more

We started off with the Warm Donuts. They were soft pillows of heaven. Also loved the cream on the bottom. We all loved them. Yellowfin Tuna Tartare* was so fresh and delicious. It hit the spot and I loved it. My friend loved her Grilled Chicken Sandwich & especially the ranch chips. My husband loved his breakfast plate. I tried the bacon and it was fantastic. My friend thought the Pork Belly Benedict* was delicious. He's a man of few words so I don't know much more than that. The waiter was very nice and helpful. We all really enjoyed him. It's also a super cute place. Looking forward to coming again and trying different things. read more

Great location with fun, dog-themed décor that dog lovers will especially enjoy. The food and drinks were very good, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Prices are a little on the higher side, but overall, it was a pleasant experience. read more

Really good experience. The decor was interesting, the dog theme is really fun. Stopped here for a quick weekday lunch, was seated right away and service was attentive. Really appreciated the recommendations which were excellent picks. I enjoyed the watermelon martini which was delightful. The goat cheese and ricotta spread with hazelnuts, strawberries and balsalmic drizzle with toast was very tasty. More salty/ savory than anticipated. The beet and goat cheese salad was decent, not the best that I've had. The special for the day was a meatball sandwich, with a lovely creamy tomato sauce, delicious! I would definitely recommend and plan to return. read more

I want to just say Amazing service from our waitress. I went to white dog for the first time this past Sunday 02/15/25. We have a group of 8 for a birthday brunch. I was super impressed with how friendly the staff was. With valentines holiday the restaurant was definitely slammed. Even with it being like that our waitress took her time and explained everything on the menu to us and was super patient. On top of that the food was spectacular. Had an occasion to meet here for a lunch date recently and got to dine alfresco for the first time this season. We love trying new places on our travels so we made a reservation here for dinner tonight. It wasn't super busy but the vibe was good. The dog themed decor was right up our alley. I even found a Great Dane on the wallpaper in the bathroom! lol The food was delicious. The farm to table selections were totally worth every penny. Our server was super sweet, but I wish she would have stopped by the table after we got our food. Hubby would have loved a steak knife for his ribeye and I would have loved another martini. In all, I still think this is 5 stars :) read more

I haven't been here since pre-covid. I don't know why but could be because an ex lives right down the street and I didn't want to re-experience her wrath. Why did she have to be so miserable when she could have had sweet, ol' lovable me forever. Anyway, nothing has changed other than the menu. The interior still had warm paintings of cute doggos all around, and the service at the bar was spectacular. Peter, I believe was his name, was so courteous, calm, respectful and nothing was a problem, he just took care of things. The starters of Tuna Tartar and the Arugula Beet Salad were fabulous, so full of mixed flavors, pleasing to all senses. For entrees my friend had the Blackened Shrimp ABLT salad, so decadent, so rich in flavors and content. I had the leftovers the next day, it was still fabulous. I had the Lamb Bolognese. A creamy thick bolognese but not heavy...if that makes any sense. For dessert the pineapple upside cake ala mode to die for! Great choice. My frequent visits in the area are Rosalie's and Estia. And now put White Dog back on that list. It's time to become a regular again in that rotation. read more

We had an underwhelming dinner at White Dog. Based on the bill, I would have expected a better meal. The food was ok, but felt like it was missing something. We started with the tuna tartare and the French onion dip. Both were delicious and were probably the best part of the meal. For entrees we had the lamb London broil, which was unevenly cooked and well overcooked on one end. It was served with a tomato and cucumber salad which ended up being an insubstantial meal for the price. We also had the sea bass special, which was good, but felt incomplete. The waiter also described the dish incorrectly. Overall, the service was slow and subpar. Again, it wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasnt good. Plates weren't cleared, dishes were described incorrectly, and the meal was slow to progress. Even with a 7:15 reservation we weren't seated until almost 7:45. The atmosphere is energetic and has a great vibe overall. They really leaned into the dog theme and the restaurant has a great feel because of it. Each of the rooms have a different theme which makes for a fun experience. read more

I could spend all day in here if they would let me! The decor alone is enough to keep you entertained. The food was out of this world...every bite was a 10/10. I would go back for the mushroom soup. And I will cry about the fact that I can't make it for myself at home. Deviled eggs were perfect, that touch of caviar hits the spot and the crunch wasn't too overwhelming. You can tell they were made with love. Buttermilk waffles were surprisingly good, I'm not a fan of pumpkin but my server recommended them, and she was on point. Avocado BLT was very well done, not too much to fit in a sandwich. Paired with the best truffle fries I've ever had. And the ricotta doughnuts for dessert was the move for us. Warm, with a delicious sauce on the side that completed its place in my heart. My only complaint is that there is no white dog cafe in Florida, but I don't blame them. Would 1000% come back here if I'm ever in the area again! read more

Came here when visiting a friend. She's been here before and had great service, which was the biggest issue with tonight was our service and what I remember the most. Our server seemed annoyed when she did check in on us. It started ok with drink orders but then all the drinks came separately (and in terms of drinks, we had to ask multiple times for water refills!) ... one of the girls in our party wanted the spicy margarita with normal tequila instead of spicy. The first time, it came out fine. The server asked if she wanted another then it came spicy. She did fix this (once we got her attention) but they didn't give a heads up that there would be a $5 upcharge for normal tequila instead of spicy. Did not expect this! Seems excessive and also should have been mentioned. The appetizers were great. Big fan of the general tsos cauliflower. Probably best item of the night! Entrees were a different story. 3 of us ordered sides and none of them came out. Our server never came to check on us and I had ordered the short ribs and wanted to eat them with my Brussels sprouts. We had to flag down another server (very nice gentleman!) to ask him to get our waitress. When she came back she was rude asking us what the problem was. She said there was a mix up with the sides but I anticipate she never put the orders in. We had 3 different sides so I doubt there was an issue with one not being available. But regardless, she never apologized for the issue and then we had to eat them with cold entrees. I appreciated her having those comped but again, was just rude about the misunderstanding. My friend has had great experience here before. The place seems like a relaxing, fun atmosphere with all the dog themed touches just wish we had better service! read more

I am done patronizing this restaurant. I do not like feeling invisible. My expectation is that if I am paying a premium price, I should get slightly better service than the diner down the road. I fully understand when a restaurant is packed service might be spotty, but that was not the case early Saturday evening. How hard is it to see if your guest's water glasses are empty? I ordered a dish that was moderately spicy and was really close to just getting up and getting my own water. Instead of attending to her customers, our wait person spent a lot of time talking to some people she knew. I was finally able to flag someone to pour me a glass of water. My entrée was decent, but my wife's was mediocre at best. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

My husband chose to treat me to a meal here and it feels like there are more workers running around than there are guests? Very tight squeeze anywhere you walk. Furthermore what I assume would have been a manager talking to a Spanish boy very rudely on the restaurant floor near the bar, very distasteful behavior on the managers part. Hope this place gets its act together... never coming back read more

I dined here with my family during the week for lunch the week of Thanksgiving and it did not disappoint. Everything from the decor to the food to the service was phenomenal. I'm a huge dog lover so I immediately fell in love with this spot the second I stepped foot into the front door. Even though it was busy, our server never forgot about us and checked up on us regularly. My family and I shared a dozen oysters and we each had our own entree. We appreciated that all of our main courses arrived exactly at the same time. My fried chicken sandwich was delicious and juicy. I can't wait to return when I visit my parents again. read more

My wife and I dined at this restaurant's Chester Springs location last year and, although the food was poorly prepared and the service was inattentive, at least it was expensive. Recently, while passing through Wayne, I decided to give the restaurant a second chance. Unfortunately, the experience confirmed that the first visit was not an anomaly. The maître d' was sullen and unwelcoming, and our server was largely absent throughout the meal. I ordered a burger well done and requested that the fries be served without Parmesan cheese because of a dairy allergy. The fries arrived as requested, but the burger was served rare and only lukewarm. Ordinarily, I would have sent it back, but our server disappeared after dropping off the food. Rather than wander the restaurant looking for someone to correct the mistake, I ate it. The surprises continued when the bill arrived. I was charged an additional $3 for fries served without Parmesan cheese. When I questioned the charge, I was told there was an "upcharge" for the fries. I had not requested a substitute, an upgrade, or anything extra--just the omission of an ingredient that could trigger an allergic reaction. Charging extra to accommodate a disclosed food allergy struck me as bizarre. To top things off, I paid with a $100 bill and was initially shortchanged by $1. Everyone has an occasional bad day. Two visits to two different locations producing essentially the same result suggests something more systemic. For a restaurant that positions itself as an upscale dining experience, the food, service, and attention to detail simply did not justify the price. One star. I gave them a second chance. There will not be a third. read more

Lovely, spacious patio dining on a gorgeous evening. Service was fast and friendly, despite being quite busy on a Friday night. Dog, group, and family friendly in an upscale environment. Love that they prioritize local ingredients and beverages! Happy hour deals are the way to go - we were starving and ordered a bunch of plates and were so satisfied. Do NOT miss the mushroom soup, they're known for it and it is unreal, with local Kennet square mushrooms. Oysters were so fresh and good! read more

The food is always good, actually the food is always great. I have been going there since I was 19 and I'm 36. I will say this is not something I do; write reviews. Good or bad, I mind my business. I paid with cash, and I picked up for takeout. When I gave the hostess cash, it took her about 5 mins to figure out what cash was, and when she returned with my change she said they didn't have the right amount of change so instead of making good on their error, she rounded down and gave me less than I was owed. I see this often with Gen Z hires. They really don't know what the hell is going on, I don't think. this will become a larger issue if not addressed. You should be DELIGHTED when people pay with cash, not punishing them. read more

This place has everything. First off, the food is solid, and everything we had was delicious. In particular, the cheese curds for an appetizer and the seafood cavatappi were both to die for. This Haverford location, I believe is the best of the growing White Dog empire. Whimsical use of dogs throughout the design elements of the several separate dining rooms. Creative comfort food. Pricey but good quality. I adore the Kennett Square mushroom bisque, but it's very rich so share it or order with a salad. And I also love the Thai Beef Salad but the first time was more cravable than the second time; but still very good. The salmon entree was good but the fish was more cooked through than I enjoy or requested. The bread basket is expensive but so delectable you'll forget all about the price. But endeavor not to fill up on bread as the food portions are ample. Dining companions who ordered their hamburger were very happy. I sampled a couple fries which were tasty and good combo of crispy outside, soft inside served in large cone. Service is excellent and, mostly, professional. (They're incorrectly trained to clear main entree plates as individuals are finished eating but before their dining companionship are done. This makes the remaining diner feel self conscious and rushed. It's OK to discretely clear finished beverages and superfluous plates, but not main plates until everyone is forks down.) Otherwise, personable but professional service. I don't live near this location but have been coming up with excuses to come to town so I can meet family or friends here for lunch or dinner. Decor is elegant but rendered more comfortably casual by the fun of the dogs motif. Great for more serious dates. Excellent for business lunch/dinner. Outdoor seating available -- which, if you bring a real dog you'll be urged to sit. Only certified service dogs are allowed indoors. However, the view outdoors is only the (free) parking lot in this tiny, upscale strip center. Some strategic outdoor planters with taller plants might elevate this area by blocking some of the parking view. read more

This is a cozy spot and as a dog lover, I enjoyed the dog decor. I chose this spot for a work dinner for 6 people. I felt a tad rushed throughout the dinner. Food was decent. We started with the seasonal milk buns, they were so soft and fluffy - I especially liked the flake sea salt on top and soft butter! These were the highlight of the meal for me. I have heard of this place for years as a fancy but casual atmosphere space to check out and I was not disappointed! Finally had the time to make a reservation for a dinner and it was delightful! I was amused trying to see how much dog decor they managed to integrate without feeling kitchsy or distracting but they really do have dogs on EVERYTHING. Our service was perfection in timing and attitude. They managed to cook a super fat burger exactly medium rare which is never something we can fine! Their cocktail felt old fashioned small but the spirit was very strong. Is this top of the top perfection? I'm not sure. Their sweet rolls I felt were just bready and dense, the truffle was overly much.
