Had a lovely dinner with coworkers at the Wayne location. It was a Monday evening so fairly quiet and we arrived at 8:00 pm. Although we were one of their last tables, we never felt rushed by the restaurant team. Our group had eclectic food tastes, but everyone agreed that the whipped ricotta dish and bread basket were crowd pleasers. The portions are ideal for sharing, and everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared. This restaurant has a charming atmosphere, with cozy, whimsical decor that makes it feel both inviting and unique. We started off with the Warm Donuts. They were soft pillows of heaven. Also loved the cream on the bottom. We all loved them. Yellowfin Tuna Tartare* was so fresh and delicious. It hit the spot and I loved it. My friend loved her Grilled Chicken Sandwich & especially the ranch chips. My husband loved his breakfast plate. I tried the bacon and it was fantastic. My friend thought the Pork Belly Benedict* was delicious. He's a man of few words so I don't know much more than that. The waiter was very nice and helpful. We all really enjoyed him. I haven't been here since pre-covid. I don't know why but could be because an ex lives right down the street and I didn't want to re-experience her wrath. Why did she have to be so miserable when she could have had sweet, ol' lovable me forever. Anyway, nothing has changed other than the menu. The interior still had warm paintings of cute doggos all around, and the service at the bar was spectacular. Peter, I believe was his name, was so courteous, calm, respectful and nothing was a problem, he just took care of things. The starters of Tuna Tartar and the Arugula Beet Salad were fabulous, so full of mixed flavors, pleasing to all senses. For entrees my friend had the Blackened Shrimp ABLT salad, so decadent, so rich in flavors and content. I had the leftovers the next day, it was still fabulous. I had the Lamb Bolognese. A creamy thick bolognese but not heavy...if that makes any sense. For dessert the pineapple upside cake ala mode to die for! Great choice. My frequent visits in the area are Rosalie's and Estia. And now put White Dog back on that list. It's time to become a regular again in that rotation. read more

My husband chose to treat me to a meal here and it feels like there are more workers running around than there are guests? Very tight squeeze anywhere you walk. Furthermore what I assume would have been a manager talking to a Spanish boy very rudely on the restaurant floor near the bar, very distasteful behavior on the managers part. Amazing place! I've been here twice and once to celebrate a birthday. They are so kind and attentive. The food is excellent. Brunch has a wide selection. Try the biscuits and gravy! It's perfection. This place has everything. First off, the food is solid, and everything we had was delicious. In particular, the cheese curds for an appetizer and the seafood cavatappi were both to die for. We love trying new places on our travels so we made a reservation here for dinner tonight. It wasn't super busy but the vibe was good. The dog themed decor was right up our alley. I even found a Great Dane on the wallpaper in the bathroom! lol The food was delicious. The farm to table selections were totally worth every penny. Our server was super sweet, but I wish she would have stopped by the table after we got our food. Hubby would have loved a steak knife for his ribeye and I would have loved another martini. Had an occasion to meet here for a lunch date recently and got to dine alfresco for the first time this season. Everything about this place was well done, but the service was a tad slow, but to be honest I always feel that way about dining outside. Really appreciated the recommendations which were excellent picks. I enjoyed the watermelon martini which was delightful. The goat cheese and ricotta spread with hazelnuts, strawberries and balsalmic drizzle with toast was very tasty. More salty/ savory than anticipated. The beet and goat cheese salad was decent, not the best that I've had. The special for the day was a meatball sandwich, with a lovely creamy tomato sauce, delicious! I want to just say Amazing service from our waitress. I went to white dog for the first time this past Sunday 02/15/25. We have a group of 8 for a birthday brunch. I was super impressed with how friendly the staff was. With valentines holiday the restaurant was definitely slammed. Even with it being like that our waitress took her time and explained everything on the menu to us and was super patient. On top of that the food was spectacular. We had an underwhelming dinner at White Dog. Based on the bill, I would have expected a better meal. The food was ok, but felt like it was missing something. We started with the tuna tartare and the French onion dip. Both were delicious and were probably the best part of the meal. For entrees we had the lamb London broil, which was unevenly cooked and well overcooked on one end. It was served with a tomato and cucumber salad which ended up being an insubstantial meal for the price. We also had the sea bass special, which was good, but felt incomplete. The waiter also described the dish incorrectly. Overall, the service was slow and subpar. Again, it wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasnt good. Plates weren't cleared, dishes were described incorrectly, and the meal was slow to progress. Even with a 7:15 reservation we weren't seated until almost 7:45. The atmosphere is energetic and has a great vibe overall. They really leaned into the dog theme and the restaurant has a great feel because of it. Each of the rooms have a different theme which makes for a fun experience. read more

I could spend all day in here if they would let me! The decor alone is enough to keep you entertained. The food was out of this world...every bite was a 10/10. I would go back for the mushroom soup. And I will cry about the fact that I can't make it for myself at home. Deviled eggs were perfect, that touch of caviar hits the spot and the crunch wasn't too overwhelming. You can tell they were made with love. Buttermilk waffles were surprisingly good, I'm not a fan of pumpkin but my server recommended them, and she was on point. Avocado BLT was very well done, not too much to fit in a sandwich. Paired with the best truffle fries I've ever had. And the ricotta doughnuts for dessert was the move for us. Warm, with a delicious sauce on the side that completed its place in my heart. My only complaint is that there is no white dog cafe in Florida, but I don't blame them. Came here when visiting a friend. She's been here before and had great service, which was the biggest issue with tonight was our service and what I remember the most. Our server seemed annoyed when she did check in on us. It started ok with drink orders but then all the drinks came separately (and in terms of drinks, we had to ask multiple times for water refills!) ... one of the girls in our party wanted the spicy margarita with normal tequila instead of spicy. The first time, it came out fine. The server asked if she wanted another then it came spicy. She did fix this (once we got her attention) but they didn't give a heads up that there would be a $5 upcharge for normal tequila instead of spicy. Did not expect this! Seems excessive and also should have been mentioned. The appetizers were great. Big fan of the general tsos cauliflower. Probably best item of the night! Entrees were a different story. 3 of us ordered sides and none of them came out. Our server never came to check on us and I had ordered the short ribs and wanted to eat them with my Brussels sprouts. We had to flag down another server (very nice gentleman!) to ask him to get our waitress. When she came back she was rude asking us what the problem was. She said there was a mix up with the sides but I anticipate she never put the orders in. We had 3 different sides so I doubt there was an issue with one not being available. But regardless, she never apologized for the issue and then we had to eat them with cold entrees. I appreciated her having those comped but again, was just rude about the misunderstanding. My friend has had great experience here before. The place seems like a relaxing, fun atmosphere with all the dog themed touches just wish we had better service! read more

I dined here with my family during the week for lunch the week of Thanksgiving and it did not disappoint. Everything from the decor to the food to the service was phenomenal. I'm a huge dog lover so I immediately fell in love with this spot the second I stepped foot into the front door. Even though it was busy, our server never forgot about us and checked up on us regularly. My family and I shared a dozen oysters and we each had our own entree. We appreciated that all of our main courses arrived exactly at the same time. My fried chicken sandwich was delicious and juicy. I can't wait to return when I visit my parents again. read more

The food is always good, actually the food is always great. I have been going there since I was 19 and I'm 36. I will say this is not something I do; write reviews. Good or bad, I mind my business. I paid with cash, and I picked up for takeout. When I gave the hostess cash, it took her about 5 mins to figure out what cash was, and when she returned with my change she said they didn't have the right amount of change so instead of making good on their error, she rounded down and gave me less than I was owed. I see this often with Gen Z hires. They really don't know what the hell is going on, I don't think. this will become a larger issue if not addressed. You should be DELIGHTED when people pay with cash, not punishing them. read more

This Haverford location, I believe is the best of the growing White Dog empire. Whimsical use of dogs throughout the design elements of the several separate dining rooms. Creative comfort food. Pricey but good quality. I adore the Kennett Square mushroom bisque, but it's very rich so share it or order with a salad. And I also love the Thai Beef Salad but the first time was more cravable than the second time; but still very good. The salmon entree was good but the fish was more cooked through than I enjoy or requested. The bread basket is expensive but so delectable you'll forget all about the price. But endeavor not to fill up on bread as the food portions are ample. Dining companions who ordered their hamburger were very happy. I sampled a couple fries which were tasty and good combo of crispy outside, soft inside served in large cone. Service is excellent and, mostly, professional. (They're incorrectly trained to clear main entree plates as individuals are finished eating but before their dining companionship are done. This makes the remaining diner feel self conscious and rushed. It's OK to discretely clear finished beverages and superfluous plates, but not main plates until everyone is forks down.) Otherwise, personable but professional service. I don't live near this location but have been coming up with excuses to come to town so I can meet family or friends here for lunch or dinner. Decor is elegant but rendered more comfortably casual by the fun of the dogs motif. Great for more serious dates. Excellent for business lunch/dinner. Outdoor seating available -- which, if you bring a real dog you'll be urged to sit. Only certified service dogs are allowed indoors. However, the view outdoors is only the (free) parking lot in this tiny, upscale strip center. Some strategic outdoor planters with taller plants might elevate this area by blocking some of the parking view. read more

This is a cozy spot and as a dog lover, I enjoyed the dog decor. I chose this spot for a work dinner for 6 people. I felt a tad rushed throughout the dinner. Food was decent. We started with the seasonal milk buns, they were so soft and fluffy - I especially liked the flake sea salt on top and soft butter! These were the highlight of the meal for me. I have heard of this place for years as a fancy but casual atmosphere space to check out and I was not disappointed! Finally had the time to make a reservation for a dinner and it was delightful! I was amused trying to see how much dog decor they managed to integrate without feeling kitchsy or distracting but they really do have dogs on EVERYTHING. Our service was perfection in timing and attitude. They managed to cook a super fat burger exactly medium rare which is never something we can fine! Their cocktail felt old fashioned small but the spirit was very strong. Is this top of the top perfection? I'm not sure. Their sweet rolls I felt were just bready and dense, the truffle was overly much. But I'd come back any day to give them the chance, if I had the time and a bit of extra money in my pocket. read more

We went for lunch yesterday at 12:30. We were seated on the patio. There were only 3 tables being served. We had water and salads--Caesar and Little Gem and Carrot. They were on smaller plates than those we saw served next to us. The Caesar croutons were tiny, and hard as little rocks. The lettuce was just thrown on the plate, on top of the c very few croutons. Very unattractive and unappetizing. The dressing was very, very mild- not Caesar and no hint of anchovy. It was more like an appetizer salad that you would probably ignore if included with the meal. Our salads, minimal ingredients as there were, took an hour to arrive! We did not leave the restaurant till 3:00! They apologized for the salads taking so long, and offered us a free drink. (we had water) And still we waited, and watched a table who came in after us, get served ahead of us. I think people go there for the outstanding decor, not the food. The menu hasn't' changed for as long White Dog has been in Wayne. Maybe they could add some cracked pepper and some parmesan on the salad, or some cheese crisps? A few cherry tomatoes since it isn't really a Caesar salad? An anchovy option? Store bought croutons would be better than what was on my salad. So my family needed a good dinner on Sunday night and we found a great place near Villanova. The mushroom was to die for. You can tell it was freshley made. You can get it as a cup or bowl. We regretted getting the cup size. It was really good. My meatloaf was also amazing too. But the best of the best was the apple cream puff. I was very let down by White Dog Cafe. I have had their food once before, and it was nothing special. Definitely not worth the price. Then, I decided to make a reservation there for a birthday brunch (against my better judgement). I specified that we would need an outdoor table, because we had a dog joining us. The day of the reservation rolls around, and it is drizzling all morning. I go in and explain that we have a dog, and the hostess said that if the dog wasn't too big, we can bring him inside to eat (he is a beagle, so not very big at all). I was surprised by this, but she said they had done that in the past. So I told my friend who was bringing her dog that everything was good to go, and she can proceed with bringing him. Once she arrives, the manager comes out and says that our only option is to sit outside in the rain. He said we can wait for it to clear up, I said okay, and then he made sure to remind me "but it's supposed to pour for the rest of the day." I decided to leave and have brunch at Rosalie instead, which i HIGHLY recommend instead. They were super accommodating and allowed dogs on their enclosed patio. I would have totally understood if they said from the get-go that dogs cannot be inside, but to be told that it is something they do regularly, then to be turned away, was very rude and frustrating. Do not waste your time and money on bad food and service. read more

I don't think you realize the chokehold this place has me in. I come specifically for the deviled eggs. I love them so much. They have truffle oil, caviar, and a potato crisp. 10/10 I also love the bloody Mary's and truffle fries. The bartender on Saturdays is so friendly and attentive. Will always come back. read more
