I would like to recognize the outstanding service we received from Gina Picciano, the manager at Lola's Garden. From the very beginning, Gina went above and beyond to ensure my daughter's bridal shower was absolutely perfect--and it truly was. She reached out to me several times on her own to check in, answer questions, and reassure me that no matter what the weather brought, she would make sure we were accommodated, whether indoors or outdoors. Gina even gave me her personal cell phone number and told me to call her anytime if I needed anything. Every time I reached out, she responded immediately with professionalism, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm. She made me feel like no request was too much trouble. On the day of the event, Gina exceeded every expectation. She personally provided directions for unloading and arranged for her staff to help carry in all of my decorations. Her positive attitude never wavered. She never responded with "no" or "I can't." Instead, she focused on finding solutions and making everything work. Nearly 40 guests attended the shower, and so many of them commented on how beautiful and perfectly organized everything was. The best part is the ambiance here, which I love! They clearly put a lot of thought into the decoration and design. The food is pretty good despite the small menu, but I have found service here to be very hit or miss. Sometimes you will be forgotten. My colleagues and I had to ask a few times for things that were missing from our orders. If you are seeking a break from your shopping trip, Lola's is a nice place to settle. They offer an excellent selection of brunch options. We came during a busy shopping time, however, missed any major brunch rush and were seated in fairly short order. All the staff we interacted with were friendly. A warm Sunday evening and an early dinner at Lola's. Quickly seated outside, though it seems they weren't using their main patio. Friendly server and fast service. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts w/hot honey and our cocktails. I loved my Suburban Squared bourbon drink with lemon. Our salads were delicious and the falafel was perfectly done and a great pairing with the feta cheese. There weren't a lot of nectarine slices but they also weren't very flavorful so that was fine. I wanted to try this place out because there was outdoor seating. It was easy to make a dinner reservation and dogs were allowed. Service was ok, we asked for some water for our dog but it never came. The server was nice, though. The food...was below average. I was very disappointed and had high hopes. Margarita pizza had no flavor - it was very bland, needed more salt and seemed like it just came from a can without seasoning. At least it was cooked. The squid ink pasta also needed more salt and I didn't taste the garlic butter flavor that the menu claimed to have. I think it needed more of a seafood taste. The only taste I was getting was starch. The pesto dish barely had any pesto, and it did not seem fresh. Again, it seemed like it was out of a jar because it didn't have much flavor. Unfortunately, that was probably the best dish. The worst part is for below average food, the price is not justified. :( read more

The food just wasn't that good. It was probably the worst brunch I've had in the 5 years I've lived in the Philly area. No coffee offerings except for drip. No black teas except for decaf. Moms had strollers littering the walkways, obstructing even the servers that were working. The ambience was loud. Our table was a tall two top by an indoor tree. There's room for an indoor tree but not one for our small bags. Service was slow. Layout was crowded. There are many better choices. Even chain restaurants have better options. One good note- Our server was nice and helpful when she did pop by. I won't be going again and I don't recommend that you go either. read more

Came here for the first time for a friend's birthday. The staff were very nice and accommodating! Food was great to share in a spread. The inside was nicely decorated and bustling (even after a storm). A small thing that bothered me but really isnt a huge deal, was the layout of the seated tables inside. We were at a round table next to the fake tree inside, and next to the bathroom and bar, and anytime other guests on the other side of the restaurant were trying to get to the bathroom, they would shove themselves behind us to get through. It was a strange path choice considering there wasnt much room behind us and we were constantly interrupted and having to move our seat to let people through. I think the flow of the room could be better so this doesnt happen but otherwise it was a good spot for catch up with friends! read more

We stopped in for dinner last night when shopping in this cute shopping center. It was a last minute decision and every restaurant was packed w/ the Sat night dining crowds, but Lola's was able to get us a table within 15 minutes. The menu had a little something for everyone. We started our meal by sharing the brussel sprouts-yum. Then I got the ahi tuna appetizer (pretty good) and they were nice enough to bring out crackers with it. I'm pretty sure the menu said it was served with rice crackers so was surprised it was served on their own. My mom and I also split a caesar salad, which was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed her burger and i couldn't help, but eat a bunch of the fries that came with it. I ordered a glass of rose that never arrived, but by the time I realized i was happy with my water. Besides the wine not arriving the service was pretty good and friendly too. There's a few cute restaurants in this center, but this is a solid option if you find yourself in the area. read more

Waited at the hostess area for 5 minutes to be seated. Tables and bar station were pretty empty. There were, literally, 5 people inside the restaurant when we entered. Should've known it was a red flag. Only ordered 3 things on the menu because nothing else really peaked my interest. The duck fat fries were okay. Crispy. The rigatoni was good but it did not come out piping hot. Semi warm. The scallops were not fresh. I was able to finish 4 out of 5 though. Truly regret eating that now because it really messed up stomach up. Almost didn't make it home because my tummy was turning and churning. Get my drift? Anyway, I wouldn't recommend going there. I had brunch at Lola's Garden and while the service was fine and the ambiance was great, I felt like the food was just OK. I will say, I wasn't the most adventurous, as I wound up only getting the biscuits. The spreads they offered with the biscuits were great, and I think the biscuits were pretty good. Nothing amazing. I tried a friends cinnamon roll. It was decent. I think I will need to try more items before I can really speak to the food here, but the brunch menu options were limited. There also weren't any espresso coffee drinks, just drip coffee with choice of cream. One of my friends enjoyed her mocktail and breakfast food, so that was good. The kid's menu helps - although my son preferred the salmon we ordered off the main menu more than the one from the kid's menu which was overcooked. We had a delicious dinner at Lola's Garden tonight. It's located in Suburban Square in Ardmore. There are many parking options nearby. The interior is rustic chic. There were many great choices on the menu. We tried the whipped ricotta as an appetizer. The presentation of the whipped ricotta and puréed beets was as beautiful as it was delicious. For our entrees we had the Amish fried chicken and the smashburgers. The portions were generous, and we devoured it all. Our server was Michael D. He was friendly and attentive. A friend and I went for brunch on Saturday late afternoon. We didn't have a reservation so it was about a 10 min wait for a table. The inside was filled with pretty decor and we sat by an open window so it was bright and airy. I ordered a sangria a which was refreshing. For our meal we started by sharing the cinnamon rolls. They were a good size - the frosting was delicious, although the bread part was a little plain. For my dish I got the breakfast croissant - I asked for no meat and substitute avocado which they did for me, very much appreciated. Pookie and I came here for a Friday night date night. We sat by the open window inside of the restaurant, and I reveled in the breezy fall air all through the evening. We ordered the following during happy hour: 1. 2 Suburban Wides - I ordered Hell or High Watermelon and Hidden Still Tequila, and pookie ordered Cape May Oktoberfest and Five and 20 Bourbon. Mine was way better, and I had the best buzz :) 2. Grass Fed Burger - We shared the burger, and it was juicy, but not particularly rave worthy. At the end of the day, it's just a burger. 3. Duck Fat Fries - Below average fries. The majority of the fries were bits and pieces as it was mostly the fried ends that nobody wants. I will say, the garlic aioli was nice though. I liked our server, and I loved the energy of the restaurant. It was perky, cheery, yet romantic. It's not often you find a comforting space that serves delicious brunch and provides great service, but Lola's Garden proved to be a winner with both. I visited over the weekend with a friend. She hadn't arrived yet but they allowed me to be seated at a table. It was a very busy day for Lola's, however, the staff were friendly and efficient. While I waited, I ordered an espresso martini. I haven't had one in a while but this cocktail didn't give me the jolt of energy I was waiting for. Still very tasty though! My entree was the falafel. I don't know what made me think the falafel would be served inside the pita bread but the pita was on the side instead. The falafel itself was amazing - not too dry and perfectly crunchy! The fries were excellent, too. Our waitress was so sweet and checked in every so often. She noticed we were catching up and reassured us there was absolutely no rush to leave. We ended up being one of the last few customers in there. There were other waiters and waitresses floating around helping to clear tables and refill our waters. I've heard Ardmore participates in their own Restaurant Week and I think this would be an awesome place to take advantage of the specials! Next time, I'll try Lola's for lunch or dinner. read more

This place has cute and cozy decor, and in the warm spring, it is open to the elements even when indoor seating is opted for. We made reservations last minute for Sunday brunch and were pleasantly surprised that the reservation probably wasn't needed. We were seated immediately. Our server was training, so we had plenty of attention from her and her coach. The service was very good. Food and drinks were even better! My daughter started with a clementine creme soda mocktail; it wasn't her speed, so she switched to a sprite. I took a sip of it and thought it was really good. My husband had a "taken for pomegranate," and I started with a "butterfly gimlet," finished with "gin violet sour," and I can't wait to try more of the drink menu! I wish I had noticed the cocktail flights earlier. My husband ordered the French toast, and it was topped with a yummy peach compote. Lola's Garden has since improved with the welcoming of a new chef. I came a long time ago. It was very good, but not great. My recent visit was one where I was absolutely blown away by my dish. Stopped by Lola's Garden just for dessert and a drink. I haven't eaten here since I had a not good some time ago. It was bad enough that I never went back except for a late night drink that was also awful. I ordered a cocktail that happened to be on tap and it tasted like nothing. Looked pretty but that was it. So giving this another try/test. I checked the menu before going and was all set on the Apple Tart. Got there and no apple tart on the menu, so already disappointed. I landed on the Strawberry Shortcake. I asked the server if I could order a side of ice cream and she said she didn't see why not so I ordered a side of salted caramel ice cream. A few minutes later she came back and said she wasn't sure why but the chef said he can't do a side of ice cream. Absolutely makes no sense! And that dry ass cake needed the ice cream. He darn sure should have added it. That cake was sooo dry it was like eating days old cake that had been sitting out. The whipped cream on top was flavorless and tasted like whipped milk. The server asked me how it was and I told her it was so dry. I'll just say she and I had a good chat. I also had the Taken for Pomegranate cocktail. The cocktail was really good. It's getting warm outside so it's time for drinks outside and picturesque restaurants. Lola's most definitely fit that bill. I wish we would've made it for happy hour but I digress. It was surprisingly relaxed at 6pm on a Tuesday. The service was nice and attentive which was great as well. The cocktail flights are cute and boozy. I loved getting a taste of the cocktail options and it's lit that they have cocktails on tap. Now, paying $14 for a single cocktail from tap is wild hence the flights. I love me some bites with my post work drinks and gossip but the apps at Lola's were not it for me. The options plus the price just didn't add up to me. Went here for the first time on a Saturday - meeting a friend for brunch. Since it was such a nice day, we sat in the outdoor seating area. It was such a garden, boho vibe in the space with plenty of tables set up throughout the area. Apparently they recently added a couple of items to the brunch menu and I decided to try one of the newer items - the Mexican Street Corn Avocado Toast. I don't ever order that out for brunch - or in general - as I'm worried I won't be satisfied/full. But I'm so glad I gave it a chance! (Shout out to the waitress for her recommendation). With the egg added to the order and the toast on the larger side (much appreciated), it actually was filling, fresh with the ingredients and tasty. Came for dinner for the first time, been for brunch before. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. She explained that they're not exactly farm to table but they use fresh in season ingredients. The menu changes accordingly, but just slightly. I.e. they'll always have flatbread but the toppings may change. As always, interior and ambience was so pretty. Their patio is heated and warm! So disappointing. I went there yesterday for brunch with a group of friends. I was not busy due to the holiday weekend. But getting food and drinks was very laborious. When my flight of cocktails arrived the ice had melted and the juices/mixes had all separated and they all tasted flavorless. I asked for a new flight and explained why the cocktails were disappointing. New batch came and they changed a cocktail because rjejbweee all out of the " gettin foggy wit it" ingredients by noon. Ok.... We received our entrees eventually and honestly I have never had such a small portion. At best I received three tablespoons of grits with a plate full of oil. Relish should not contain that much oil. One of my friends received half baked French toast while the other one received reasonably baked French toast. There were so many kinks in service. We really wanted to like Lola's but it was challenging. It's a lovely space but more attention needs to be paid to food execution and service. read more

Reserved a table for 8. Called to confirm the next day and they said they didn't have the reservation. (We have a google confirmation). Arrive. The hostess asks us to wait while they prepare our table. They pushed two tables of uneven height together. A bit odd. We ask "how many rolls with the cinnamon roll small plate?" Server says 4. How many with the biscuits. Server says 4. Server comes back and corrects the cinnamon roll order by telling us it's only 2. Orders come. 3 Biscuits. Not a big deal but the issues are adding up. While we wait for our meals two servers at two different times brought meals to our table that weren't for us. Our food comes. Smash burger is really two patties on a bun. Half the plate filled with fries. Eggs Benedict was two small eggs and a huge portion of breakfast potatoes. No care with the presentation on these two plates. One of our kids got French toast that was not cooked through. We sent it back and he shared his brother's chicken. Ice cream dessert came in two shifts no spoons. Had to ask for spoons. Kids got a big laugh by looking under the tables and seeing gum stuck to the bottom. I mean gums. All in poorly trained staff, poor service, poor food quality. Will not return. read more

I was coming from west Philly and meeting my friend coming from Wayne and she suggested Lola's Garden. What a delightful choice! First of all, the place is beautiful. The outside space with natural wood, big fans and beautiful tables would definitely have been the choice had it not been one of the hottest summers on record in Philly so we opted for inside... which is also beautiful. I really do love the garden aesthetic. The food was delicious! The menu is very seasonal and the summer options made it hard for me to choose. Fresh summer-ingredients-forward. Corn and tomatoes were highlighted throughout. I ordered the trout and it was delicious! The skin was perfectly crispy with delicate flaky meat plated with a wonderful sauce, crunchy veggies, mixed grain salad. I loved every bite. My friend ordered the gnocchi and she said it was very good. Dessert was a crème brûlée with shortbread crust and raspberry and mint. Delicious! I'm rarely in Ardmore but this restaurant would be a reason to visit. I recommend! read more

The atmosphere is the best part of this restaurant. The outdoor patio area was really cool with the lights and plants hanging from the ceiling. Even the inside was pretty and tranquil looking with all the greenery as well. Service was pretty slow. We waited awhile for our server to come over and take our order and then waited awhile for our drinks. I ordered one of the cocktail flights- the on the livings easy. It wasn't bad but was a little watered down. The one Summer whiskey/bourbon flight my husband wanted they were out of. We tried to come here for our anniversary last year on a Tuesday since we had a gift card to use. A day or 2 before our reservation the restaurant emailed me to say they have to cancel my reservation because they were closing that day because of staff shortages. Kind of unprofessional I think, they should have let me know sooner. We didn't have a chance to book anywhere else since it was last minute and just ate at home. The food was just ok. The duck was a little dry and portions were too small for the price. I got the short rib which tasted dry too and needed more flavor. It was probably made earlier and reheated since the food came out fast but everything else was slow. For dessert we got some kind chocolate mousse with ganache. I didn't see any ganache in it and the mousse was more like whipped cream. I had an online gift card also which our server didn't know how to use so he had to get the manager to do it. read more

I love what FCM Hospitality has done with its Parks On Tap pop-ups throughout the city, and I'm an absolute fan of its dining destinations like Morgan's Pier and Juno. So when I heard that they were opening a new indoor/outdoor dining destination in Ardmore (https://philly.eater.com/22383408/lolas-garden-open-new-restaurant-suburban-square-ardmore-menu) I was all set to enjoy it outdoors and in. And after doing so on a couple of occasions, I can't help but consider it among the best restaurants on the Main Line. FCM made a big effort for their suburban debut by hiring Andrew Wood of former Spruce Street BYOB Russett, creating a greenhouse inspired interior restaurant, and designing an outdoor dining structure that works for both Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter seasons since it's enclosed in windows and doors and has heating during the colder days. The menu is centered local ingredients and promotes sustainability, and all of the alcohol is local to PA as well. It also does a great job of catering to both those of want to enjoy beers and burgers, and those who want fancy cocktails and fish entrees. There's even plenty for vegertarians. For our first visit we dined outside on a warm summer Sunday, and I loved being able to imbibe on a flight of three cocktails that aligned with the seasons, and for starters we loved the cheeseboad selection of local varieties when a seasonal mustard , nuts, fruits, and breads sourced by Lost Bread Co. And for my main course I absolutely fell in loved with the seared scallops with roasted mushrooms, pickled red onion, and a black truffle aioli. For our second visit we indulged upon our cheese plate in their rustic interior space. We also loved their flatbread which comes with truffles AND mushrooms, fresh burrata, parmesean parmesa, uarugula, tffle honey, and proscuitto. I also enjoyed the Equinox Revival cocktail with Revivalist gin, Red Bull, blueberry, lemon, and lavendar/vanilla bitters. For the main event I absolutely enjoyed the arctic char with brussels sprouts, roasted sunchokes, caramelized onion puree, It was solidly glazed with a soy maple base and also had calabrian chile for a sweet spicy combo. Toss in a bittersweet chocolate brownie with vanilla gelato and an almond praline, and it was a perfect coseout to a meal that has me wanting more! read more

The room was beautiful, clean, and prepped with a water table and coffee station beforehand. Both were good. The server was a bit confused on which flight was which and couldn't remember the beverages but that's okay we figured it out. My friend ordered the restaurant week menu. She got the Haricot Vert & Frisée Salad, Dutch Country Porcini Chicken Breast, and "Soft Serve" Cheesecake. I ordered the Ham & Melon, along with Duck Fat Fries. Overall a very cute spot with indoor seating, outdoor seating, and a nice bar inside. I recommend it for people shopping in Suburban Square for sure. read more
