Smoke Show
Bryce H.

Great food, beer and service. On a work trip, came in right when the game was going on Sunday. Inside is a nice little old style bar, with a good vibe. Hostess/waitress very kindly got me seated in a good location to watch the game (surprisingly not crowded). She constantly checked on me during my time there (excellent service). I ordered one of their draft beers and a small Detroit style pizza ("The Smoke Show"). They have some other sort of special items such as the steak and mac n cheese. It was between that and the pizza, but the pizza was calling my name. Didn't plan on finishing the whole thing in one sitting, but it was that good. Sadly didn't save room for dessert. If I'm in the area again, would definitely stop by.

This restaurant is warm and welcoming with great food, a nice beer and wine and cocktail menu and just a really nice vibe. We had the Detroit Pizza for dinner, the pickle pizza to be specific and it was amazing. First time eating a pickle pizza and it was delicious. The service was excellent too. Loved the bathroom signage as well.

We stopped in at the goats beard on their patio for a lovely dinner. A local small business in the Philly area. Swerving up all your favorites and Detroit style pizza. The pizza was delicious we got the smoke show which is their version of the meat lovers. The hummus platter is a great appetizer served with bread, veggies, and pita chips. Their ceaser salad is big enough to share and could be a meal in of itself. Service was great and an excellent patio stop in downtown Wayne.

We came for happy hour on a Thursday. The burger and fries are only $10 and it was so tasty! Well seasoned and juicy without being greasy. Fries were great too. I also got a two glasses of white sangria for $7. Only down side we were sat at a table that was booked for a reservation so after our second drink was dropped off we were asked to move which I think it would have been appropriate to comp those drinks for us. The only space available standing area by the door as the bar was full or outside but it was about 43 degrees. We had only been there about 50 minutes so this was a mistake on staff for seating.

Whole summer I been hitting everyone with "I am craving a burger." I haven't gotten one until I did here and let me tell you it was mouth watering. Our server Lily was so kind and attentive, especially during restaurant week, I could not imagine the chaos. We sat right out front and it was great for people watching and also didn't feel in the way. Sit outside while you can:) we went for our cat's bday and even she enjoyed it.

Dropped into this little spot on a Friday evening. We had a reservation so the wait was about 15 minutes. We ordered the pickel pizza and the og pizza. They were incredible. I think about them often. We had a couple other apps and a a few drinks. This place is small and gets packed but the service is fast and the crowd is friendly.

Such a cute spot! We sat outside and enjoyed downtown Wayne. Came with a big group and everyone enjoyed their food. I got the pickle pizza gluten free. You could barely tell it was gluten free which I love. The menu had lots of great options. My parents got the OG pizza and said it was wonderful. The carbonara pasta came out and my sister in law said it was so good she didn't want to stop eating it. I also ordered a mocktail- love that they have that for an option and it was delicious. The inside decor was adorable. I would definitely go back.

We were promptly seated and attended to; drinks were brought out right away. When our server asked if we had dined there before, the others hadn't but I mentioned I'd attended their recent Yelp Elite event, which she was familiar with. We all shared the General Tso Cauliflower, which was delicious and fun! I also enjoyed the Crab Bisque as a starter and the Fish Tacos for my entree. Everything was hot and tasty, and the portions were just right. No complaints. Initially the food was brought out pretty quickly, then service slowed wayyy down. It did start to get busy, but not unmanageably; however, it eventually felt like we were forgotten about. It took forever to get our check, and the system wouldn't recognize my Burtons membership info to give me points for the visit. But I mentioned the date in the beginning because the AWS outage occurred that day. I think that was ultimately the issue, but the lack of communication and check-ins from our server added an element of frustration to our experience that could have been prevented. We skipped dessert, as we were full and literally out of time (had to get back to work). Overall it was decent, and I'd still go back again. (Oh, and I did finally get my points credited to my account, so that's all good!)

After being seated, greeted by a heavier bald guy who was kind and gave us a moment. After we placed our order no one checked on us. He came by after our food was already done being picked at and he asked if we wanted any coffee drinks or deserts. I actually really did want to get a tea because the lemonade tasted horrible but he never stopped to check in on us. I actually started to observe and noticed on the other side of the restaurant he checked on two people who weren't paying, so it made me feel uneasy. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone that I know. Sure it's nice inside and they said everything they make is homemade which is great, but the food doesn't taste nor the drinks and the service couldn't hit the mark. This was a disappointment. I know people judge you based off of how you dress and who you are. We did not fit in being two people of color in a restaurant full of older white people. It's sad. I expected better I attached a picture of what I have on today (I started writing this review after getting in the car)

Peter, I believe was his name, was so courteous, calm, respectful and nothing was a problem, he just took care of things. For entrees my friend had the Blackened Shrimp ABLT salad, so decadent, so rich in flavors and content. I had the leftovers the next day, it was still fabulous. I had the Lamb Bolognese. A creamy thick bolognese but not heavy...if that makes any sense. For dessert the pineapple upside cake ala mode to die for! Great choice. My frequent visits in the area are Rosalie's and Estia. Both of us ordered the giant Wagyu Truffle Burger ($27 - Half-Pound Wagyu Beef Patty, Fontina Cheese, Crisp Prosciutto, "Frizzled" Onion Rings, Arugula, Truffle Aioli, Brioche Bun). This is a pricey burger but it was really good. Was it the best burger ever? Nah but I did enjoy it very much, however, I really couldn't taste too much truffle. You're definitely paying up for the Wagyu...I have had regular burgers that have been just as good as this Wagyu one but again, I did enjoy it. And it was huge and was packed with delicious stuff. Still, I'd even go as far as saying it was a standout burger compared to some others I have had. The rest of the items on the menu sounded appealing too. Prices were definitely comparable to where I'm from (L.A.) but this is suburban Philly so I don't know if they're high or not. Neat fact: The building dates back to 1746 and served historical figures during the American Revolution like George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette and Freiderick Wilhem Von Steuben. So many times when I eat out and a savory pie is on the menu I find myself staring at a deconstructed thing. All the ingredients piled on a plate in a lovely gravy with a Pie Puff on top. Good, but not great. In this The Silverspoon already has my vote as they made an honest to god PIE. Full crust top and bottom and when you factor in that the filling was spectacular, the duck juicy and tender and the crust not too flaky and not too crunchy? I was in heaven. Piled atop the Pie was a veritable mountain of watercress and Pomegranate seeds (next time I will set them to the side so I can choose the proper amount per mouthful) and it's here that the Pie really took off. The Pomegranate seeds were little jewels of sweet and tart juice that gave a little pop of color and cool to the delicious duck with every bite. I was so very thrilled with it. I got an opportunity to speak with the new proprietor Michael and he was also an absolute pleasure. The service was friendly and the food was incredible. I will absolutely be back! It was pathetic. When we flagged down a waiter we asked for some more blue cheese and apples. Waiter didn't even acknowledge our request and returned with a single side cup half filled with blue cheese. Non apples. I was pissed but I got the look from the wife to let it go. She ordered a loaded baked potato which came out dry which had a dab of sour cream an essence of butter, a pinch of cheese, bacon and 3 scallions on it.
