When I first started working at Terrain a year ago, the older staff who were there were much nicer and older even through it was a few younger staff but mostly everyone was nice and on point and solid with their job and it was lesser complaints and issues.. When the older staff had left and the newer staff came from the ones who I worked with up untill the present that is when things shifted and changed...it was more younger staff, alot more complaints and drama going around the restaurant, poor attitudes and personalities and a lot of gossip and favoritism that was shown, I even gotten written up twice, one for a verbal saying in which I did not say anything wrong or serious about anyone the second time was when I tried to help a woman who work on the line who fell on the floor because the floor was slippery and wet and a day later I had found out she had made false accusations against me that I groped her and also it was a situation with my cellphone which she came over to my area and looked at and thought it was something inappropriate on my phone and then went back and ran her mouth to the management about it....yes the work conditions there are Terrain were not good in the back of the house, I had to constantly clean up behind other grown people, the dish pit was a small area, things and equipment were constantly unorganized even when I had tried to organize things and things not getting put up in proper order and away in its place, the floor area in the kitchen constantly stayed dirty and wet and some of the servers were not nice, rude and be funny towards you and gossip things...I was written up the 3rd time for leaving early one Saturday during the busy season due to me having to take Septa back to the city and the trains running late or being cancelled and I was very tired and over with that so I had told the night time assistant manager that I could not stay later anymore due to the situation with Septa and she act like she did not care and not considering about it and wrote me up so I did not care about that so I was later terminated, the night time kitchen manage understood and considered but I understand that he had to go and follow by the head manager and go through protocal but the thing is that there is no consideration there with the other managers that some people had to take and rely on Septa to get back home to the city and that they do not care because most everyone have cars and drives and have more of a privilege..Well with all of this said . I am glad that I left Terrain because after I had left, I was told by a co worker that bad things were said about me from the front of the house staff at Terrain that I falsely was trying to talk and hit on the servers and one of them accused me of touching her inappropriately and saying all of this crazy and wild stuff so I am glad to long longer work at Terrain because it is a toxic and disfunctional place to work and those severs are a bunch of young 20 year old clowns who do not know me here that well and are ignorant. I would never be disrespectful towards anyone not even disrespect myself here in that manner but it shows you how ignorant and hateful and spiteful people are especially in the Philly area because they do not like you or say and do things out of ignorance and negativity, all I have to say is that the grass is always greener on the other side and I am glad to work somewhere now where it is a fresh start and better and mostly all the staff and management are very nice and respectful and good to me...that is the kind of work environment I am about and love to work in... Terrain Cafe in Devon is surely not a good place to work at...

The food was good with fresh bread served in a terra cotta pot. I enjoyed my salad. We got some fries to share, and those were crispy and tasty. We got salads, and both were perfectly dressed and packed with excellent vegetables. No standard spring mix here! We enjoyed mocktails and even had room for the dessert sampler. After 10 minutes of waiting to be seated, my wife walked in to talk to someone and they saw here coming and went in the back. I asked the woman at the hotel desk what was going on. The desk clerk walked up to the bartender and they began an animated and not-friendly-looking discussion.After watching that for five minutes, we waved to them that we were done waiting and we and our two friends just left and went somewhere else. Weird place. They just don't seem to want to serve people. As far as I could tell there were only 3 people working the entire restaurant. Three tries is enough. We aren't ever going back, and we live 7 minutes away.

My husband got the steak sandwich and the bread was amazing and the steak was cooked perfectly as well. To treat us as separate tables but still tack on 20% per check? As we are wrapping up dinner and everyone else was looking over dessert, I told her she could bring mine now since I have a 45 min drive back to CC and I have perishables. People are now eating their dessert and she's still fussing aroundat her kiosk. I eventually approach her and asked for mine again. She got super frustrated and unprofessional, and said us wanting to split bills is (exact words) "tumultuous." Does she even know what that word means? "I thought you wrote separate checks?" Because we are a table of minorities? Had we been a table of all white, would she have asked HOW we would like to have it split? I was in the dine-in food service industry for several years. I had thought splitting checks was a very common practice, and I absolutely did NOT ask patrons to sit in specific order. White Dog in UC didn't do that either (or anywhere else). Perhaps White Castle is more within her playing field. Some courses in sensitivity training may aid in her professional development. And they wanted to charge like $4 per person since someone baked cupcakes.... reminder that most people also ordered dessert on top of all this. They can go pound the sand.

Maneuvering food became a needed skill. My dining partner put some schnitzel onto her "eating" plate letting soup cool ... I decided hot soup was more important than hot or even warmish pork so I continued to eat my soup but rushing soup made it less enjoyable. So, I finished my soup squeezing the empty bowl into a limited space on the table ... my "eating plate" was crowded still having hummus on it because I rushed my soup .. my dining partner said "yum the Schnitzel is good" while her soup chilled. I took the serving plate with the remaining Schnitzel and asparagus eating off it since it was the only plate with room. Before I took a bite the sliders arrived further crowding the table. Quickly the Butternut Squash Bisque was finished so that she could eat a hot well maybe warm Crispy Fish Slider ... I was still working on the Schnitzel knowing I was going to eat cold fish. And, as we both kept putting food in our mouths foregoing any conversation the Chicken Primavera arrived and looked picture perfect amidst the crowded table but finally the soup bowls were removed ... there's still hummus and tabloeh from that Mediterranean Platter that we didn't have time to finish and the waitress asks if we would like more pita ... sure ... I had just finished the cold slider and was about to try the chicken primavera. She also then noticed my water glass was almost empty and asked if I wanted a refill ...I did but had been so busy shoving food down my mouth that I just barely noticed I needed water (I actually knew I did but no one ever stopped by to ask.). And, just in case you're wondering... our flight still was not close to taking off from the terminal in this lovely lounge (It really is an attractive restaurant to dine in.) that reminded us of a classic airport lounge but it felt like a hallway fast food eatery. You might be wondering why there are three stars rather than one. Well, the food was all really tasty. I would say it was delicious even though due to the rush the only food I ate that was hot was my soup. We finally did get back to that Mediterranean Platter and yes, we were given more pita and I wasn't rushed eating it because there was nothing left to be served.
