A thoroughly subpar dining experience characterized by lackluster service, protracted waiting times, and overpriced cuisine.

They also have HH on Saturdays! Nice perk. What we snagged: -Brussels (Very good. Crispy and well cooked bacon) -Mussels in a white wine sauce. VERY flavorful. We were about 1/3 of the way done and found and long black hair. Not great, but manger came right over and apologized. Took it off the bill and offered for another. We were good with just taking it off the bill. -Black Cod. Best dish of the night. Had a noddle crispy dish on the side. Fish was cooked perfectly. -Lobster Ravioli. Good, but nothing crazy. Snagged a few drinks: Baklava Old Fashion and Espresso Martini. Both amazing. Very well done. Overall, we'd come back for a HH or a quick dinner. Raven was a great server and focused on us all evening. Even before the hair LOL.

The kitchen is made from scratch so orders for apps and dinner were taken upfront. Service could be better. For starters, one of the funniest things I think I've ever said while having a meal was with a friend when I stated "omg everything I am eating and drinking. Today is tickling my palette!" and this is a perfect way to describe my experience today at the rabbit hole. For starters, the environment is incredible. I feel like I literally stepped into a super fancy Alice in Wonderland film! The decor is gorgeous, from the deep purple velvet barstools, to the dark green textured wallpaper and the royal rabbit artwork on the walls, it's so fabulously done I had to take a video and send it to my daughter! Then there's the drink menu, I cannot describe how clever these drink combinations are. We tried the mad queens elixir and the queens garden and they had the most delicious and unique flavor combinations. You just have to try them! The Food selections, and as our waiter informed us, they change regularly. They are unique and delicious and served homemade to our table. We had a very short wait time for me to order food, and it arrived at the table in large portions and we couldn't even finish everything we were so full!! We tried the sampler of dips and breads and a spicy flatbread.... But just looking over the menu there were so many different things to try. We have to come back for the next trip sooner than later. Our final event to report for the night was as we were getting ready to pay the check. A fabulous woman came up to our table and asked if we would like to stay for the trivia night. We were pleasantly surprised, and the event is on Wednesdays from 7 PM to 9 PM the place, filled up very quickly in anticipation of this event. And the crowd was fun and vibrant as was the woman who officiated. The game itself was so much fun, and it really did put the cherry on the Sunday for our entire experience! Our waiter was wonderful, offering us recommendations and gave us amazing service. And the last thing we heard from was the woman who was announcing the trivia game telling us she would love for us to come back that we were so much fun. That little extra special kind word really just made this such a great culinary experience and overall great memory. I highly highly suggest if you live in this area, this should be your local go to. And if you're a visitor that's coming in for a short day, this place is definitely worth coming in and patroning! 5 stars Rabbit Hole!!

We really liked the atmosphere too. We ate the aracinis for an appetizer and for entrees we had the short rib pasta and the salmon. We would definitely come back. But then when I was looking up their burger week menu I came across the valentines menu and it looked good, so I figured I would give it try. My husband's dinner was alot better than mine so I was eating some of his, even though we always share anyway. He got the oysters with a dragonfruit sauce and they were good. I ordered crab and corn soup with grilled focaccia bread. The soup itself was fine , but it was only half a bowl and not much crab in it. I would have liked more soup instead of the bread. I gave the bread to my husband because we got a good amount of bread for the appetizer and I didn't want to fill up too much. I probably should have ordered the calamari instead , that looked pretty good. My husband's scallops with risotto was very good. Seared perfectly, creamy risotto, good flavor. Normally that is what I like to order, but I got the crab pasta because I love crab. I was disappointed In this dish. The crab tasted a little too fishy like it went bad or something. I also got a number of shells in the crab I had to spit out. I feel like they could have mixed the crab with some kind of seasoning or flavors. It seemed like they just dumped the crab right out of the can into the pasta and didn't even clean the shells out first. And they didn't even put the pasta in any kind of sauce. I would have liked maybe a creamy sauce with it. The pasta was just in like a watery garlic broth, and it broke apart and crab went all in the water and I didn't even have a spoon to pick it up. Dessert was ok. I'm glad we got the dragonfruit cheesecake instead of the chocolate cake, it was refreshing . The tiramisu wasn't bad but it was still somewhat frozen. I was kind of surprised because we are fans of the Pieri group restaurants. We have been to their sister restaurant Stonerose for burger week for a number of years now and love it. We also came to burger week at bar sera the one year and really enjoyed theirs too. I wish they did them separate weeks so we could go to both . Maybe it was just an off night tonite. Sometimes valentines menus aren't as good as their regular menu. Maybe we learned our lesson to go out the week before valentines instead for next year.

Was there earlier this month for a retirement party of 50+ people with lots of different tastes and dietary restrictions, but Hook & Ladder had us all covered. My table and I tried the generously sized charcuterie board, Brussels sprouts, mushroom soup (soooo good!!), and for my entree, I ordered the braised beef rib (also excellent). We had a lot of salmon orders at the table, too, and every plate was empty before the dessert menus came around -- I didn't try the crème brûlée or bread pudding, but they both looked like a nice end to a great meal. The staff had a bit of a hard time keeping up with drink orders and refills, but we're a pretty heavy drinking crowd with a lot of different tastes, so that's no surprise. They were friendly and timely in clearing plates and silverware though, and the bartenders were friendly and swift. It's not easy accommodating such a large group, so I can see us coming back here for future big events. I can also see how it would be a good place to celebrate any kind of special occasion with a smaller crowd, too.

Our table was pre-set with silverware wrapped in cloth napkins, water glasses filled and appetizer plates. My appetizer plate looked like it went through the dishwasher but had lots of crusty food stuck on it. It was gross. I cannot believe that plate made it to the table for a patron to see. The person setting the table had to be blind. Also, my water had a partical or small bug. I was concerned about the cleanliness of the place. I didn't want to ruin it for the others so I let it go. And that was it for the bad stuff. All 7 of us enjoyed our lunch. My shrimp BLT wrap was delicious. Fries were good and plentiful. Cob salad was huge and the other sandwiches were fresh and good as well. Service was timly and efficent. The place is huge with a few different rooms for dining. A big $90 disappointment!! The pork sandwich looked like a can of wet dog food put on top of a hoagie roll! In Philadelphia, when you order a pork sandwich with provolone, broccoli rabe, and long hots you do not expect to get what you see in this photo! It was so wet that bun was soggy all the way through. Worse than cafeteria food. The tomato/burrata sandwich was about 5-inches tall and there was no way to get it in your mouth. The cucumber was sliced too thick and the mound of arugula centered on top of the tomato like a dome pushed everything up and over the sides. It might have been a great sandwich if it had been one thin layer of tomato, one thin layer of burrata, one thin layer of pickled onion, one thin layer of arugula, and one thin layer of cucumber, with pesto on a delicious ciabatta roll but it wasn't. What is it with restaurants who think things have to be supersized and over-stuffed?! In this case, everything slid off the sandwich and it could not be put back together. They should have called it a Humpty-Dumpty. Just trying to eat it was embarrassing and super messy. Didn't care for the mac & cheese at all. It was too runny and I did not care for the flavor. The menu was not specific enough to know what they put in it to make it taste the way it did. I have made mac & cheese with all types of cheese and love them all but you can never go wrong with good old plain mac & cheese with no fancy flavorings. They served it with a spoon for a reason - you couldn't eat it with a fork! The cheese sauce fell right between the tines when I tried. Great ambiance and the service is always adequate. I have had better food here so I hope they improve these 3 dishes before I return. I don't fancy spending $90 for lunch that I can't eat.
